Invasion stripes are a rabbit hole I rather avoid. They would never look this neat unless it's a modern museum aircraft, however on a model reality looks horrible. I rather they were done the way you did them. The kit is quite good but has issues. I've built three of them. ( without the god damn stripes) Subscribed, us little Chanels need to stick together 😀
My subs tend to complain that it takes me too long to complete a project! i'm continuously explaining that i have quite a hands on day job, with limited time for doing what i love :) The clipped wings were quite a decision as i have fitted working nav lights, once they were in position there was no going back if i didnt like it! :)
@@littlehistory2392 You have to build for you Terry, don't get into the trap of trying to please everyone as it will in you pleasing no one, Including your self.
People will say that they are too precise, during ww2 they didnt spray them. They were painted with whatever was to hand usually a paint brush. Looks great though
Yeah ...but its a scale model . If it was rough arsed painted lines with a brush on the real thing...when you take the scale down to 1/24th the lines will appear perfectly strainght
@@littlehistory2392 247 Squadron flew LF clipped wing Mk.Vbs LF escorting bombers on D-Day. Example: BL415 AZ-B Walt Johnston. I don't know of any Mk.IX examples. For how well the stripes are done, the model could represent a post war plane. The stripes on WW2 aircraft were usually rushed and messy.

@@BillyBobbly-gm9ds They would look like crap regardless of the scale 1/24th is pretty revealing
That is brilliant D-Day strips well done Terry
Thankyou Uncle Ron :)
Nice one Terry, perfectly defined stripes
Thankyou Athol mate 😁
Looking good
Cheers David :)
Nice Work Terry
Thankyou bud :)
Very cool. The stripes look great with the clipped wings.
Thankyou mate, bit of a blunder though! Doing the clipped wings means the stripes are wrong. No clipped wing Spits took part in D-day :(
@@littlehistory2392 I do know of No. 234 flying LF Mk.Vbs for escorting LF bombers on D-Day. Example to look up: BL415 'AZ-B'. Pilot Walt Johnston.

✌
I'm hoping you've still got all your limbs after your adventure with the Beast pf weedwackers! :)
i do like those stripes terry. (i've sent you an email)
thanks bud :)
D -day stripes were hand painted not masked and sprayed!!
My excuse---"If a line is hand painted at real size and its a bit wobbly, as you drop it down in scale it looks precise!" 😁
@@littlehistory2392quite right
please please please dont over weather it. ive seen so many on YT ruined (imho)
Over weathering is a trend that has infested RUclips unfortunately
