im so jealous
Lmao
Dam
Would prob a lot more affordable than a mclaren rebuild
Turns out his could do longer dives😂
😂
8500 for World Wide exposure not to shabby
Exposure doesn't pay the bills.
@@freighter1097 true
@@freighter1097 It can if you swing it right - plenty of "exposure" YTers are making upwards of 100k/mo. I mean, Freddy started that way.
@@ckm-mkc I don't know who Freddy is. Again, exposure doesn't make you money. If millions of people know who i am, that isn't making me money. If it is, I'd love to know how.
@@freighter1097you are absolutely right. 💀
It has been amazing to watch this NSX story! Every step of this restoration has me more and more hooked. The amount of time and patience this takes is mind blowing
I really hope paperwork isn't what keeps this car off the road. Good luck guys!
Check the glovebox!
Just when we thought Freddy was peak insanity...
Freddy isn't peak anything except for peak of receding hair line.
😂
These guys make Freddie look like a genius! (An evil genius, but whatever.)
@@edrannou3914😂
This is amazing. I love seeing a car, esp NSX, that spent the majority of its life underwater and come back to a useable driving car
"NSX of the river! Grant me your wisdom!!"
As soon as the owner went from 5000 to 6000 i'd have ended the call and left him to it. The guy was taking the piss.
Exactly
"This lady wants to pay 8000 for a fishbowl" I was born at night, but it wasn't last night 😂
And if you were selling it, would you not take the highest offer? lol.
Nicholas has an awesome gift of storytelling. Thanks!
The corrosion must be insane
Makes Tavarishs’ P1 look like a weekend project.
$8500 for that kind of attention from potential clients… solid investment from that point alone.
its definitely no tavarish and a mclaren. buuuuut i love seeing how people handle these massive projects, good on you guys for taking it on.
a wet cat poo is better than Tavarish
Talk about flood damage!
What a great story, respect for the build
One of my favorite cars ever, i cant wait to see whatever it becomes, weather Racecar (NSX-Rish lol) or a full restored + modern enhacement NSX. Super cool, and wildly impressive either way!
Get hold of Steve Lehto Law on what to do about the title. One of VINwiki favorite. 😊❤
Unfortunately the loophole through Vermont no longer exists. It was shut down not long ago. That would have been the easiest thing.
@@pearlcoupewe found out the hard way 😮💨
@@pearlcoupe
Steve did a RUclips video on a new title provider, the state of West Virginia is doing what Vermont used to do. The only hiccup is you have to register with them as a dealer/auto business.....?
I remember when this car was found and figured it would disappear glad they are going to fix it
Spoiler: The insurance company that paid out the claim legally owns the car and is waiting for restoration to be complete to make their move.
tavarish: rebuilding a car that was underwater for 15 hours
helix: rebuilding a car that was underwater for 15 years
Interesting ,, Thanks for sharing 👍 Best Wishes
"the car from the revvvier" (7:30) love it 😅
Almost anything can be repaired. It becomes a question of if it makes financial sense in this case. It did go viral so it could be worth it for advertising etc even if the car itself is a loser financially....plus a bonus you have an NSX
The tow/impound lot guy who was gouging people sounds exactly like every other tow yard employee that has ever existed.
Pure scumbaggery.
Loving the recent nsx content.
Glad you are covering the LochNSX :) LOL Becca drove the price up.
Cost wise it would make sense to turn it into a track car
I’d love to see Pole Barn Garage or Junkyard Digs on here
9:29 and that is a partially dry weight. When it was in the river it was exponentially more. Especially if it had a decent current flowing.
It would be interesting if the original owner of the NSX chimed in.
Something tell us he won't. 🤷🏻
@@helixautoworks
Agree. It was probably insurance fraud.
Would have loved to meet you at NSXPO 2017
I've been looking forward to this one since seeing it's current state at NSXPO this year. Great bunch of guys and a very fun project to watch!🔥
🙏👍
Sad story is how many of these cars are found. There are volunteers who full time search for missing persons. The number of unknown cars and missing persons they find is just tragic.
“He doesn’t usually call me in the morning so it was strange but anyway I decided not to pick up because it probably wasn’t important”
By chance was this the NSX pulled out of the Yadkin river in Lexington NC?
Road Trip survival box = good friend with a 2500 - 3500 truck, Working trailer, and a phone to call him. 😊
This is a crazy awesome video!!!
When emotional attachment to an object outweighs anything else.
He bought it from lsx salvage here in China grove/Salisbury nc
Thought it was the one in Lexington?
@@c3corvettel-824 you’re correct, I didn’t know it wasn’t Salisbury zip code
Can this one be saved?
Maybe 5% of it
Just some spit, grit and elbow grease
Almost anything can be repaired. It becomes a question of if it makes financial sense in this case. It did go viral so it could be worth it for advertising etc even if the car itself is a loser financially....plus a bonus you have an NSX
If the body shell is still relatively solid, it's no different than building any other car
@area85restorations75 The only solid thing on this shell is the dried mud in it 😅
When you change every part every bolt by a new one, is it still a restoration ?
If all the parts come from Honda it's still a honda......
When people restore a 69 charger and they use 90 percent amd sheetmetal what car is that???
People have lost their minds
This went WIIIIIIILD in the honda community instantly
Not really
@@Reflexopz yea….it was everywhere! Every post when it sold was about it!
And i thought Yoshida’s Skyline thewas the peak broken
About restoring All the skylines by Hagerty if you’re wondering
Saw this on a trailer at Caffeine and Octane!
Since the NSX body is aluminum could the metal still deteriorate sitting in the water for 16 years?
Yes, aluminum can still corrode. I got a 2011 ktm sxf 250 stuck in salt water and the magnesium/aluminum clutch cover was nearly gone when I went back 8 hours later, it had pitted so bad it looks like someone had sat there and drilled it millions of times with a micro sized drill bit, it was swiss cheese and porous like foam
The paint might of protected some of the aluminum, but it would of found somewhere to start the electrolysis process and start eating away
I still vote the only this gets on the road again is with a VIN swap 🤣
As long as the bodyshell ain't top rusted out its no different than building any other car.
Is the word "way" somehow missing from your vocabulary?
@@inherentmirth5180 what?
Lisc plate should read "scuba"
@Vehcor we need your stories
Full restoration is crazy. I say turn it into a racecar
This may very well be the NSX Jake Hoyt was telling Alonzo Harris about while at the Diner on day one of Training Day. 🤫
Loch-nsx
Can the title from the burnt car be used?
Hoovie will buy it
would never finish it tho
If You Build It, They Will Come!!😉 (Followers)
I bet you guys know how Tavarish feels
If you can sort out the title issues, build what you want. Not what the internet wants. Best of luck with the build.
Aluminum is So Difficult To Work With
That car should have been salvaged.
For that little Amazon cart plug at the end… I wasn’t aware Toyota started sales distribution with Amazon! Wild.
(Please don’t be so dense you reply with something stupid)
its always those junkyard owners that gouging the price as soon as any kind of conversation begins
Are the likes glitched for anyone else?
New subber and fan. I subbed your guys channel.
He never calls at this time. It must not be important
So getting followers on IG is considered out of control?😂😂 Must be hard to look at the phone
So many envious people :) . Dukes of hazzard style recovery . And yeah just ditch anything with copper . Thats gone now
NSX of the river, what is your wisdom?
I'd start with the engine. Rebuild it. Get it running and go from there.
What engine? That's a full LS swap waiting to happen.
So what's the problem with the suspension arms and everything being broken it's not like they would be reusable anyways?
I've seen too many stories start and never finish on restorations like this in the past 5 years to believe this car is doing anything but just drawing subs and likes from people that just want to support the original channel's influencers and people that have no idea what it takes to make a pile of mud with some car in it into an actual working and functional vehicle again.
The car is destroyed.
Sounds like you got swindled
that is my retirement plan. buy a cool fkd up car, fix it, flip it, rinse repeat😊
Throwing good money after bad. Nope!
Was there about about this a year or two ago? Or am I miss remembering.
nahh we the nsx story of how a nsx was imported to mexico for the cartels then bought back in the states in SD
The only thing this NSX is good for is it’s VIN tag……
And even that is questionable 🤔
It's a honda they all legos
This story built up to absolutely nothing
Yo
Yeah nah...I never understood people who buy heaping piles of garbage, spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to get it up and running, and pretend the car is all safe and driveable. Nope. Either you're stuck rebuilding the entire car and basically nothing is truly left of the original or you're just plain dumb and signed a death wish. Either dump that pile of rust back in the river where it was found or take it to a scrap yard and get the damn $5.00 it's worth.
First
Second, not first. I get it though. Counting is hard.
The nsx is cool but over hyped just like the supra
Agree and the performance isn’t anything special you get super car styling with entry level sports car performance.
Having driven a couple, they are not overhyped!, over priced? Definitely!
But still an incredible car!
Not really, kids don't see an NSX and automatically think: WOW, IT WILL DEFINITELY BEAT A BUGATTI
How is a car very few people talk about overhyped?
If Gordon Murray and Tsuchiya love theirs, it's not overhyped. It may even be underhyped
It's just a shame their videos are boring as anything.
Make it road legal
That’s where the story of rags to riches will shine
New paint body kit nice rims and show it rolling to all the events
If you have the capability show the world what you are capable of
