Sorry for the lateness of the comment! I had a look at the Greek version when it came out, and when I checked again there was English :D
It's a very clever solution. How does it feel in the hand after a couple of days? Is the gear knob fit a universal type? What I mean is, can I buy an aftermarket replacement and it will fit?
I absolutely love your interior, the colours and the spec. Hydropneumatic but with silver trim. Here, the hydractives all have that fake carbon-fibre finish, which isn't bad, it's just silver is nicer. And the seats! Are those seat covers?
Great video, thanks for sharing with us!

nah....the seats are the simple fabric ones, and I did put towel fabric seat covers, just for the back and bottoms. 20€ a piece.
The silver trims have quite a story. The factory texture on the plastic was crappy, and it came off after a couple of years of use. So I went to my guy who is a great auto painter, and I painted them in the car's color.
They are the same color as the car😂😂😂😂, and the painter used the same technique as painting plastic bumpers.
With the same clear coat as the outside plastic parts. They do look awesome. I also did the trims on the door handles, which also had faded due to use. All with the same clear coat, and they clean so much easier than the factory plastic. That was a nightmare to clean. It was some kind of rubbery substance layered on the plastic, and after some time it turned into a gooey thing which didn't clean easily and didn't look good at all.
So the bottom line is that the plastic trim around the gear stick can be painted. The factory layer or color can be removed and you can make it any color you like. You can even paint a picture there with an airbrush, and it would still look good. The secret is the technique. It has to be painted like an outside plastic, with that strong clear coat that is put on the actual paint of the car. That's what will keep it looking good for years.
The knob. The first shape, the cylindrical, was a bit weird on the hand. It did work and could be used, it's just that all knobs are following the contour of the palm, that's why they all have spherical or similar shapes.
The second one, the sphere, is more interesting. I ended up adding two more layers over that first one I put on the video, and it ended up more like a proper sphere. The overall diameter is about 5cm, which is closer to the factory knob, and the layers underneath form a kind of scale, the same jagged edge you see in pixelized images, but with the 3 outside layers, that scaling was smoothed out a bit, and it doesn't bother the hand at all. It didn't bother the hand even with the single layer, and it's much better with 3 layers.
What I'm worried is weather it will stay solid or if it will become loose in any way. That remains to see. It's a good thing the base was a mettal head, it makes for a solid starting point, so I'm pretty confident it'll stay solid.
The knobs in the 5 speeds are different. The 6 speed's heads are hollow around the neck, so that the reverse release ring will be able to go up. And it goes up "inside" the head.
The 5 speeds are just a knob, and it can be replaced with any aftermarket knob found in any auto accesory shop. The inner plastic though, the securing mechanism that lives between the knob and the metal bar, would have to be removed, because PSA has a different securing system for their knobs. As you can see in the video, that middle plastic piece sticks solidly to the metal bar, and on that plastic piece, the knob clicks in place and stays there, quite securely I might add, as you can see from the effort I put in removing it. So if you are to replace the 5 speed knob with an aftermarket one, that middle plastic has to go.
Any other information I know, feel free to ask, I'd be glad to share with the public.
Anything I aquire for free, I give for free.
Man I so wish you find one like mine. Just be careful of the struts when checking it, a leaking strut is around 400€ to replace.
You must always be concious of the struts when raising the car.
I'm getting carried away, somebody stop me.
      Anything else, I'm here. 👍👍👍👍❤

@@mr_nice. thanks for taking the time to answer! Let me reiterate, that silver on the inside looks superb. I may do that when I get mine.
And guess what, your comment on the blue HDI never left my head. I wasn't considering one at all, because as I said, it was incredibly pricey. However, all the 2.0 litres on sale right now are 12 year old wrecks, all with around 250000km and people are asking above 10k. I went and tried one that was 9k but the interior was really bad, torn load cover, temp display was broken, boot was damaged and dirty. So I saw a 2015 blue HDI that's going cheap. My mechanic says it's a good deal, but I'm going to have to pay part with finance. So yeah, you're quite an influence!

@@comcarclub .....definately, the 2015 onwards models are much "younger" and they are still much better than the older ones. Even though I keep mine like new (2011). I just hit the 200k mark a couple months ago, and it still runs and starts and sounds like the first day. Sometimes I get the idea that it even smells like the first day, but that's probably in my head 😂.
The annoying thing about the newer ones is the start-stop function. I don't realy like it and I don't know if it can be turned off via the scan tool. I do have an insider in a dealership, so I'll pop the question sometime, probably this Thursday....stay tunned.
If you can afford financing, all well and good. If you can find out "how" the car was used, and in what kind of terrain, highway or hilly back roads, it may give you an idea about the state of the engine. If you can come in contact with the owner and let him give you a ride, that would be best, because you'd see how "he" used it, and if you see him abusing it, well....you'll know what to expect.
But if you see him taking care of it while taking a ride, and if you talk and find out that he is a fan of the brand or he likes it and takes care of it, then chances are you got a keeper.
All the best man, and when you get it, I'll teach you how to properly start it, to avoid any problems with the pump.
The hydro pumps in the first C5s were known to fail or blow a fuse, maybe in the X7s too.
The style I use to start it never let me down. I never had any problem with the pump.
      Fingers crossed ! ! ! 👍👍👍

@@comcarclub ....yep, unfortunately, if you're not a fan of the "start&stop" function, citroen doesn't allow deactivation through the scan tool. If you don't mind, then all well and good.
However....if you don't like the S&S, there is a way to bypass it. The software is set up so that when the computer sees the battery below 85%, it keeps the engine running and it cancels the S&S function by itself.
So if we want to desable the S&S function, all we have to do is leave a consumer on for a while, so that the battery falls below 85%, and job done.
The battery will still be strong enough to start the engine, and the S&S function will be off. yeeeey! 👍👍👍
