Great Video!!! I moved into the UK from Sri Lanka under the Highly Skilled Migration Program in 2008 so, based on my experience I can say that most of the points mentioned in this video are absolutely bang on... Came here without any job offer/sponsor, found a job based on my degree and work experience and also managed to complete my MBA at Warwick University studying part-time while working full-time. Now happily raising a family of 3 kids 😍😍😍. There is no such place called "the perfect country" but, the UK is as good as it can get!

I have been in the USA for 6 months and I have a dependent visa. The process to be able to work here is at least 2 and a half years, but due to the lottery system, it can be longer. I feel very depressed about having to wait and I don't feel safe living here. Before, I lived in Mexico and surprisingly, I feel similar about the security there. I am evaluating other options for emigrating and the UK is winning in my options. Thank you.

USA is not cheaper for housing anymore, I moved to the uk from Singapore, but I’m from the USA, California and housing is far more expensive there than Surrey where I now live in the uk. Tax in the USA is almost the same as here but you have to pay for your healthcare there. I actually save far more money in the uk than I ever did in the usa.

I'm British born live in the UK now. I went to university in the US and lived there 8 years. I can say this. USA is an amazing country filled with opportunities if you organize well in advance and have the right immigration status. As a dependent you have options to be enrolled as a student and the you have rights to work and graduate towards permanent residency and citizenship. The UK is closer to Africa and India yes. Immigration is easier yes. The pound is stronger yes but salaries are less than half those of tne US workers in similar job categories. The cost of living in UK is very high, the quality and availability of healthcare is lower overall in the UK now with nurses doctors on strike often. The free NHS is in shambles with appointments backlog for years. Many have gotten worse and died before seeing an NHS doctor. As for directness yes US people are direct and open. The UK culture is polite and outwardly softer but they practice covert racism and discrimination and usually do not say what's on their minds openly. USA houses are bigger and the climate more variable. The only part I agree with you is security as the gun culture is scary and out of control there. Still the US is a great country with many more opportunities than the UK.

Also, work culture in US much different and it’s comparatively harder to cope with for many people:
    1. Caste system in work culture: you probably have heard of Manikhandan Ramasamy and Rajagopalan cases. It’s just horrible to think of a work environment with backdated caste based system 😔
    2. Racism: racism is also prevailing in work culture as well as in society as a whole.
    3. High work place politics: rarely any workplace where people can concentrate purely in work without hassles of team politics
Apart from that, people moved to US after 2008 have no surety till when visa would be valid.

    1. Healthcare is not free, it is paid by taxes.
    2. The USA is not structured like Europe and Asia. There are no small towns close to each other that can economically support mass transportation on a daily basis. Even in small towns or large suburbs, they cannot economically support mass transportation on a daily basis within these towns or suburbs. In big US cities, you do not need a car but that is not true for the rest of the country.
    3. On guns, 99,99% of legal gun owners in the USA do not crime with guns. It is performed by criminals and mentally disturbed people who obtained guns illegally. The UK has an increased illegal gun ownership.

Most extremists are refugees in the U.K. and Europe, generally speaking. They call it " Londonstan." In the United States, you can buy branded clothes from Macy's at affordable prices, but if you go to Harrods London, look at the price tag and go away. London, for me, is an excellent place to visit as a tourist; that is it. Suppose you want to live and earn a decent salary without too much competition. Turn to go to the U.S. or at least Germany. Nobody wants to live in that crowded place.

Good informative video, thank you for sharing your views on both countries. I have worked in USA for 6 years and now in UK from past 2 years, and coming from USA to UK was a big change some are for good some not so much.. Immigration definitely is a big point and proximity to India a double yes...
Though, I think its unfair to present a view which favors UK only, while pound has a higher value than dollar though the earning package for same role is much higher in USA than here in UK, then taxes here in UK being over 40% compared to 20-25% in USA so you save better, for medical yes its free here though to get a GP appointment takes a week and for most of diagnosis the medication is paracetamol, the wait for getting medical attention is crazy compared to USA even after paying high medical insurance the facilities are world class. UK economy is crumbling, dollar almost was equal to the pound, and after Brexit things have gone bad to worse. Best transport system - yes though you have to stay within walking distance of a station, and finding home near to that proximity is a nightmare, the houses looks and feels like Dungens, in that same money (where dollar is less in value ill get a home thats a size of 3 homes here in UK) and even with few things you compromise there is bidding wars for the house for rent not even buying for RENTING!!!! overlooking all that, even if you reach to the station though then you have to keep a tab on rail and bus strikes the distance of 30 mins may very well take over 90 just because you have to change multiple busses... whats the point of best connectivity system which is not working half of the time. all the above has been my personal experiences.
Its unfair to paint a rosy picture for everyone without telling the day to day struggles and issues, people leave everything and come here to live the dream only to realize the harsh reality in a hard way.

A couple of points to note - we, here in the UK drive on the LEFT, not on the RIGHT - however the steering wheel is on the RIGHT, so not sure if that's what you meant?
Secondly, the healthcare system (the NHS) is NOT FREE.
Anyone employed and earns above the lower threshold pays a tax called National Insurance which is charged at 12% of your salary.
This is in addition the normal tax rates you pay from your salary (either 20% lower rate tax or 40-45% higher rate tax). Therefore if you earn over this lower threshold - you pay a minimum of 32% tax in total (National insurance and income tax) - higher if you are earning over £50k per year
The NHS is free from the point of use, meaning that you do not receive a bill when you visit the doctor's or a hospital.
Please be careful as this kind of information is very misleading and incorrect.

    Hello Ma’am ,
    Hope you are doing well.
I have been following your channel for past couple of months and some of the information has been really helpful.
I will be coming to UK this September. Me and my friends had a few questions and didn’t know whom to ask.
We will have to complete a 10 days quarantine in London and then move to Sheffield.
We were looking for options to travel from London to Sheffield via Train/Coach. But we don’t know exactly which is better. Trains are a bit costly, coach(bus) is a cheap option, but, no clear information on how much luggage do they allow for one person.
There are many service providers for coach/train like RailEurope,EMR, NationalExpress,FirstBus,etc,
but if possible could you provide information regarding this? Like what is best option for students, costs, how much luggage is allowed, what precautions to take, what are ways to book? It will be really helpful.

The inflation and recession news is really confusing, scary. Please share Your views and opinion in this matter 🙏

I emigrated from the USA to the UK back in ’98 and became a naturalised UK citizen in 2004. I only visit the USA every few years now. Each time I do, I see more businesses and houses boarded up and Americans looking shabbier and, of course, fatter. Americans like to think that they live in the best country in the world when in fact they live in one of the worst countries in the world: lousy healthcare system, low pay, virtually no employee benefits, etc.. American, love it or leave it! I left it!

    • @petermikhail7419

Low pay, seriously!! How about job opportunities there in England? Regarding the American people. I see English people eating at McDonald's because they are slimmer and cannot afford expensive food in England. Unfortunately, they are slimmer in a lousy way because of the lack of choices
