Healthcare is not an easy debate. The NHS means worse quality, longer wait times, less R&D, less innovation, but better access means that people don't die from curable illnesses. The American system means that they have the best surgeons, most innovative procedures and treatments, and the highest standards within their private healthcare system, but the poor have a terrible time and even die from preventable illness. It's a debate worth having - partisanship detracts often - the right values the quality, choice, effectiveness and freedom of privatisation, the left values a society where the wealthy pay a bit more so that those less fortunate can be looked after. It's not easy, as someone who has experienced both types of healthcare (the public system in the Netherlands and the private sector in New Zealand) I can say I much preferred private, however as I can afford insurance and medical bills this is obvious (who wouldn't prefer a far better product.) However, it troubles me that people have to sell their homes or even die because they can't pay to save their life, kids getting sick because they couldn't spare $50 to see the doctor. A system where children and necessary procedures (eg heart surgery rather than breast implants) are paid for publicly but run privately would be ideal - the government foots the bill for low income patients who receive the highest quality for the lowest price, basically utilising all the benefits of the free market whilst also making sure that your society is looked after. This beats both systems: avoids forcing people into insurance (obamacare), avoids low quality and inefficiency (NHS), and avoids unfairness (total free market)

A Scottish person doesn’t call themselves scotch, but Ulster Scots from Ireland that migrated to the US in the late 18th early 19th century coined the term scotch-Irish for themselves and descendants still use it. They aren’t claiming to be authentic Scotsmen, they are a culture of their own. That’s why they can call themselves that.

When I went on holiday we met some people and they asked us what country we were from we said England and they were like oh so you live in London... NOT EVERYONE LIVES IN LONDON COME UP TO YORKSHIRE FOR ONCE !!!
I was in Texas some years ago. I was speaking to an older gent who asked me where I came from. When I told him England, he asked "Oh, does everyone there speak like you?" (I have a very standard south-eastern, obviously English accent). I've always wondered if this guy had never heard an English accent before in his life.
I visited and stayed in the UK for a month and a half and one thing that really stood out to me was the people there really don’t care about your racial or ethnic background like a lot do in the USA. Americans put a lot of importance on race when it comes to relations with people. In the UK they could care less. My experience.
I still think the media is to blame for a lot of racial tension in the US. And I don’t think the US is as racist as they make it out to be. But, there is a barrier between whites, browns, and blacks that you can feel, like an imaginary line. In the UK everyone seemed to be more in sync with each other. It also doesn’t help that Americans are very passive. People are in the UK are way more upfront.
That’s why it’s so relaxed out there when you see stuff that would actually offend an American. They don’t look at it as racist just art and products. God forbid your clothes has a monkey on it and a BLK kid is modeling it. Lol that it the end of your corporation lol
People dont even think of Scotland when they think of the uk. That annoying because when bands say there going on a uk tour it meant like just England not England, London.
They should have done a bit of research instead of taking what the BBC told them. In actuality USA men are taller than British. The Average British male is not 5'10. the ave female is not 5'5. Some simple research could have saved them from this.
Americans might think they're taller because they watch basketball. I am a Brit who spent most of his younger life in the USA, and at 5'11" I was taller than most American men.
dfirthc An actual 5"11 is on the tall side for all countries. Average American male is roughly 5'9, average British male slightly less. Those numbers are from studies where heights were measured, not self reported. On that note, however, there are several "studies" giving different numbers which calls into question how accurate any of them are and how representative the samples are. Why use measured over self-reported? Because just like women lie about their weight, rounding down, males tend to up their height more than what they actually are.

I beg to differ, we pay extortionate property tax, while a house on the price tag seems cheap, we can pay $10,000, $8,000 even upwards of $15,000 property tax for a modest house in New Jersey, or Maryland a year. My mom pays $6,000 a year on a 3 bedroom house in a OK area. That tax is for life, and if you don't pay your house is auctioned you are homeless. There is no benefit system to pick you up. Even in some cities not paying a water bill can cause you to get your home auctioned. My council tax (it's UK equivalent) is no more that £1,100 a year. Hang on, america has more billionaires because the population is greatly bigger. In America, 0.00017% of people are billionaires, but in the UK, 0.0002% of people are billionaires, so technically we have more in relation to population size...
The UK has between 45 and 54 billionaires depending on who is reporting it, so we'll say 54 in a population of 66.65 million or 0.81 per 1 million population. The US has between 585 and 614 billionaires (we'll use 585) in a population of 328 million or 1.78 per 1 million population. That means that the US has more than twice as many billionaires per capita than the UK has (220% as many billionaires per capita than the UK when comparing the minimum reported number for the US and the maximum for the UK).
Rich i used the figures from the video itself- 134 for the uk and 565 for america as that would provide an even basis as they must have been from reliable(ish) sources for the video to use them. Plus it also depends on whether £1bn or $1bn is used, since 1bn pounds is 1.2bn dollars. On the sunday times rich list, 148 people are listed as having atleast 1bn pounds, and 123 have 1.2bn pounds or more- which is the equivalent of being a billionaire in america (1bn dollars) . But then in an article by CNBC, the uk is stated as having 93, showing how is can change depending on who reports it, hence why I used data from the video as the sources must have been the same or trustworthy. Ultimately, i wasn't trying to make a statement about the uk being better, I just wanted to put it into perspective that the us population is almost 5 times bigger or something like that, so naturally they would have more billionaires, which is something the video neglected to mention.
MOBILE SPECS i think so. I don't think its wildly more, but it could be a bit more. I think though, it is partly down to the fact that more people buy monthly contracts, where I am paying for the sim-card and the phone in one go, instead of using a sim-only plan, where you buy the sim card separate from the phone, which makes the price of the phone appear cheaper.
If you take into account that food and housing is cheaper in the UK and there is no need for medical insurance, medical bills and co pays then the UK is much cheaper place to live. Most US families are stung by medical bills, prescription drugs are 50% cheaper in Canada
Absolutely everything in UK, even here in the South is a fraction of what I paid in the US. My 3 bedroom house electric used to cost $250 a month with no heat, and 1 AC unit. In UK a 4 bedroom house costs like $53 US equivalent. I save on not paying $500 a month health insurance and groceries are so cheap it's unbelievable. Also cellphones, water, cable, WiFi and landline is ridiculously cheap.
International prices are compared in dollars so a comparison can be seen. If you have to pay more of your currency for something but your currency is worth less, how would you compare the cost accurately with a different currency?
This is so true, the channel owner should certainly provide the costs in pounds as well, just so we know how expensive things are over there as compared to over here.

Funny how you barely spend 5 seconds on the NHS compared to American privatised healthcare. It's free over here.
Not for much longer if the Tories have their way :(
Tru Pype yep but I can see JC getting in
It's not free. You pay for it in taxes.
still better and cheaper than having to pay for private health insurance.

I'm 1/2 Scottish 1/2 English
@Scottish Games I'm 3/4 Scottish 1/4 Northern Irish

I visited and stayed in the UK for a month and a half and one thing that really stood out to me was the people there really don’t care about your racial or ethnic background like a lot do in the USA. Americans put a lot of importance on race when it comes to relations with people. In the UK they could care less. My experience.
Fax. Americans so surprised to see no “ghettos”. My schools r all mixed, african, asian, etc
Most people get along well here unlike the states where there’s news on racial tensions every other month
Here in the uk you’re usually judged on class system or what are you’re from we don’t care about race

American says Britain sounds like they are saying Briton
Ahhh i all ways thought the USA had taller men and women than us Brits, guess its all that BS thats in the Films and Tv.
How does that change anything to do with average height?
They should have done a bit of research instead of taking what the BBC told them. In actuality USA men are taller than British. The Average British male is not 5'10. the ave female is not 5'5. Some simple research could have saved them from this.
Americans might think they're taller because they watch basketball. I am a Brit who spent most of his younger life in the USA, and at 5'11" I was taller than most American men.
MMRG carnival ouw naked girls here. B_razil
dfirthc An actual 5"11 is on the tall side for all countries.

University fees in the UK only have to paid off if you earn at least £21,000 ($26,704)annually and after 25 years you no longer have to pay any of it back. Really money is no issue for anyone wanting to study at university in the UK.

@@ellaf3877 dude, is it right that the price of smart phones in UK are much expensive than the price in other countries?
MOBILE SPECS i think so. I don't think its wildly more, but it could be a bit more. I think though, it is partly down to the fact that more people buy monthly contracts, where I am paying for the sim-card and the phone in one go, instead of using a sim-only plan, where you buy the sim card separate from the phone, which makes the price of the phone appear cheaper.
@@ellaf3877 BTW what's the price of the recently launched realme c11 in your country?
