    In this video we take a look at some of the wonderful Christmas traditions in Spain.
    We start with snow scenes from Madrid back in 2021. Snow in Madrid! From the end of November the traditional street markets appear. Cities are lit with thousands of Christmas lights creating an amazing atmosphere.
    Visiting El Corte Ingles during the Christmas period is great fun as there is so much to see. In one of the stores in Madrid you can enjoy the food hall and walk out to the terrace with views over the city. Take the children to see 'Cortylandia' a huge and amazing display of gigantic puppets on the wall of El Corte Ingles on Calle Victoria.
    El Gordo, the famous Spanish lottery with huge prizes .
    The incredible food enjoyed over the festive period. Seafood is very popular including Lobster, Prawns and Pulpo. Delicious croquetas, Jamon Iberico and sweet delights such as Roscon de Reyes, Turron, Mantecados and Polverones to name a few.
    The festival of St Steven, celebrated in Catalonia on December the 26th and the leftover food used to create Cannelloni pasta dishes.
    'Nochevieja' (New years Eve) with the tradition of eating 12 grapes on each of the twelve strikes at midnight.
    'Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos' where streets are lines with children eagerly awaiting the three Kings as they throw sweets from the parade and Año Nuevo, New years day. (The festival of 'Cabalgata de los reyes Magos' is held on the 5th/ 6th January.
