Soportújar, enchanting village of witches and magic!
The village of Soportújar is located on the south face of the Natural Park of Sierra Nevada and is about an hour from Granada and an hour and three quarters from Málaga.
The people of Soportújar originally from Galicia were once known as sorcerers and witches due to their customs and beliefs. This reputation was used to transform the town into a center of legends and mysteries, drawing thousands of visitors each year.
There are just over 300 inhabitants in the village however this triples during fiestas and events such as La Feria del Embrujo in August.
