I worked for a pharmacy that ended up closing, but was transferred to a sister location a few miles away. The scripts were transferred to various locations depending on the patient's preference. My new boss asked me who I didn't care for (meaning problem patients); he gave them a chance to be a decent customer, but once they crossed the line he kicked them out. Best boss I ever had!
I’d hand them a piece of paper with the “You’re prescription is ready to be refilled” text and ask them what they do next. If they say that they go to pick up their medication instead of submitting the refill, it’s a solid no for the transfer. Might also give them a referral for a grade school reading comprehension course.
As a customer, no, this isn’t proper! People are there for meds and they don’t want to wait till start feeling better! One time I passed out in a Walgreens where several people ahead of me were there for like, one prescription, and expected to check out a cart full of other stuff. I think it’s fine to buy a number of otc items with prescriptions, say, Tylenol and throat lozenges, but toys, Christmas sweatshirts, electronics, two gallons of milk, a year’s worth of school supplies for three kids? No! Post a sign and stick to your rule, pharmacy items only!
Ma'am if your prescription now has a copay that isn't the pharmacy's fault, how would you address that? Sir if you saw an attractive staff member here in the pharmacy, what would you say to her? Ma'am if you received an alert on your cell phone, how would you react to it? Sir if we had a 1 hour wait time as the soonest, how would you address that? Ma'am if you have any bad children that like to run around the store, would you bring them? Sir if your PDE-5 inhibitor was too soon for insurance to cover, how would you react to that? Ma'am how would you handle the no return policy for medications you've had for more than a week?
Do you believe in 'Don't shoot the messenger'? Example: If your insurance is not covering the prescription, who is responsible? If the medication prescribed is not in stock, who should've stock checked before prescribing? If a prescription requires a Prior Authorization, who is responsible for said authorizing? True/False: Medicare covers everything and anything True/False: prescription copay and formulary can change without anyone's knowledge even if it has 'always been the same for the last x number of years'
Not pick up my prescriptions on time? How about the pharmacy has them later the same day after they’ve texted me they are ready for pick up? Also, to CVS in Rocky Pt., you need to hire at least one more person in the pharmacy! You have two people waiting on customers inside, and one guy to do the pill counting, dispensing, AND the drive-up window! And people get pissed off because the pharmacy doesn’t answer the phone? Who is supposed to do it and when?
I just argued up and down about how it was too soon for the blood pressure med. Then figured out that she was not checking the name of the med only the color... The green one was now a white one...this conversation took 20 minutes 🥺
How many times do you get a "vacation override" when your rx (usually controls) are "refill too soon"? Do you really take 6-10 vacations out of the US per year?
@@The_Kirk_Lazarus I just had a rant about this exact situation I had experienced AT THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE. I felt it was my duty as a CPhT to properly inform the Nurse. Just because you "Sent it electronically", that does not mean "Your prescriptions are now ready for pick up". These are not synonymous statements!
Them: refill everything Me: are you sure? Theres 15 meds here, you need all? Them: FILL EVERYTHING Me: OK Them at pick up: WHY ARE THERE SO MANY I DONT NEED ALL OF THIS OMG NO I DONT NEED THAT PUFFER. YOU GUYS ARE HORRIBLE!!!!!!!1!!!
The “ I think it is you and not my insurance that is overcharging me, you guys always have some or the other issue” 😒 Mam have you ever heard of a deductible or being in the donut hole?🤯 Never mindddd
😄lol. Great video. Well..my question would be... "When do you request your refills?" I always remind people to do it 5 days before 3 days minimum in case something happens that requires more time than expected. I learn it is important to teach patients the importance of refilling on time. Repetition will ingrain the message...hopefully. Some get it, others don't. P.S.: the dislikes are the customers who didn't get their meds transferred to BS pharmacy lol.
If your prescription for [insert benzo] needed a PA, what would you do? (90% of the times I can do emergency or DUR override if they beg hard enough- it's usually because they're on an opioid from a different doctor) If we didn't have your insurance on file and you didn't have the card what would you do? (Forget FINDINS with this new PHLEX system) If we lost a full time staff member but you've been coming to the same pharmacy for years, what would you do? (I literally told a guy that people move on.) What would you say if you didn't get the sale price and since we're pharmacy techs not pharmacy cashiers? (P.S. We can only ring up three items or less at my store.) What would you do if your prescription was expired but just last Friday you claimed you refilled it but didn't pick it up because it was returned to stock? (Voltaren is OTC man in the US and in most developing countries)
We had a customer who wanted to refill her 100mg med. Couldn't tell us the name, what it's for, nothing. Just 100mg. Then after she picked up she called back to yell that we filled the wrong thing. I would ask if they know the names of their meds.
Do you put your children up on the counter? Do you make it a habit it of walking up to the counter while on the phone? Have you ever asked to speak to the manager because your insurance has you paying a copay?
Desert island meds (sans diabetic supplies, cause I'd be screwed w/o those and it would exceed 3) I would go with Keflex, 800mg Ibuprofen (800s because I could split them depending what I need) and viscous lidocaine, as it would be versatile, because I'm not planning on doing myself dirty with an ice skate Tom Hanks Castaway style, though if I had to I would also want Amoxicillin on hand, but overall Keflex would likey see more use overall from scratches, punctures ect. As to my question I would add it would be, does your insurance have a deductible and how much is it?
What about people coming to the drive thru window late at night with a bottle from a competitor that is closed ? ' WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN'T FILL MY PRESCIPTION NOW?? I NEED IT NOW ! " Of course, it was always for a controlled substance, NEVER for HCTZ or lisinopril or digoxin !!!
I would take on the island whole ass stock bottles of: Motrin 800, azithromycin 250mg, and a couple cartons of epinephrine auto injectors Oh and by the way I need my xannies (has to be the white greenstone bars, I don’t fuck with the yellow busses) Has anyone in your pharmacy asked for bars or busses specifically? when I hear.. I hate you people..why my meds are not ready?! ..I am so sorry but we do not have any scripts on your profile what medications are you expecting?..Why do I need scripts on my profile?! I have the script in my hand at home that the ER gave me 6months ago for when I was sick... You should have filled it. Sorry, but without the script I dont know what to fill. If you bring the script in I can help and it is still valid we can fill it...Does it say it expires 10 days after written date on the script? Would hate for you to drive here and its expired...Nope looking at it now it's all good... Man...you should know what my script says ..I'm gonna take my meds elsewhere ....Grinch smile so big......but dang I cant I'm banned at the other pharmacies in town...my heart breaks...so close lol. Cries** wish I had a nope failed interview box! Brings script in Do not fill past 10 days of written date..🤦♂️🤷♀️
Omg I wish the "Pharmacy Credit Score" was a thing.
How many discount cards do you think the pharmacist should run to save you a dollar?
that lady customer is something from a dream. they would NEVER give you that profile!
Yeah they would mail her meds at their own expense and call her just to hear her voice 😊
yup..it would be hi this is nobs pharmacy..I haven't recieved the profile transfer fax and was hoping to have it resent...click.
The refill everything it never fails.

Just call the other pharmacy. If they sound too excited when you give the patient's name for a transfer, say "nevermind" and hang up.
Where is your insurance card? If they answer “they never sent me one.” Goodbye!

Damn, that is genius. I may use that.
Lolol!!!😂😂
Is the NO BS Pharmacy hiring!! I will go back and get my cert to work there.
I think the application pile would be sooooooooooooo thick...take months to go through it lol
Me too!
Every tech and pharmacist should watch this before their shift! Good stuff man keep it up 👍😁🤑🤑
If only this was allowed! My colleagues and I LOVE your videos😂
Do you think its appropriate to ring up a cartfull of items in the pharmacy?
Any answer other than no is unacceptable 😂
CORRECT!

I love it!!!! Mannnnnnn if only this was possible. So proud of you Maurice. Show out.
My question would be: Do you understand that the pharmacy does not choose your copay? In way shape or form. We don't just pull an amount out of a hat

Is it the pharmacy's responsibility or a courtesy for them to call your doctor and/or insurance?
How many average times per month do you forget your medications at the other three houses that you own?

Are you using GoodRx? You are? NOT HIRED!
How many times do you get a "vacation override" when your rx (usually controls) are "refill too soon"? Do you really take 6-10 vacations out of the US per year?
Do you have to have name brand for everything because the genetics don't work?
You are hysterical! Love the videos
Upon arriving at the drive-thru window, how long do you wait before you press the doorbell? (Answers that are
Imagine just imagine if this would be true this is exactly how it would go lol 😂
I'm taking antibiotics and antidepressants with me to that island.
Also had an aneurysm at "refill the white pill"
Yea, and some Valacyclovir! Deserted island or not, cold sores are no fun.
How long do you wait to go to the pharmacy after leaving your doctor’s office?
Good one lol
The patient's doctor or nurse tells them it will be ready when they get there. Gotta love that.

Omggg every time!

I legit die of laughter everytime I watch your videos. Perfect replica of my life as rph. We would be so famous if we start writing a book.
I love your videos!
Can i transfer myself to the No BS pharmacy?
Sometimes the drs be trippin 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
That hilarious my old pharmacist actually said that .. he was mad when I moved ..

Do you wait till last minute to refill? Also what is a deductible? Any specific manufactures?
love your videos man
Do you have a valid photo ID?
How does your doctor provide prescriptions? If it's, "they handwrite them for me and I bring it to the pharmacy," that's a no from me!
Im assuming the 4 people who disliked this video just accidentally hit the dislike button 🤣

Definitely not! Gladys is Karen's grandmother and taught her everything she knows!
I would take phenobarbital, pancuronium, and potassium to the island
Do you know what goodrx is? No=good, yes=get out
I would take on the island whole ass stock bottles of: Motrin 800, azithromycin 250mg, and a couple cartons of epinephrine auto injectors
Oh and by the way I need my xannies (has to be the white greenstone bars, I don’t fuck with the yellow busses)
