Honest question: On what portion of Rand Paul's assertion that Dr. Fauci is incorrect is accurate? Do you agree that "gain of function" chiefly revolves around a virus' modus operandi or actual functionality - that is, to replicate and become more virulent and transmissible, as opposed to inhabit a different host in general which is typically required for research function?
Children are still vectors for a virus with an R Effective of up to 10, and the risk/reward ratio is still high enough to justify children to get the vaccine regardless especially with complications such as Long Covid and now a new report showing a higher incidence of diabetes among children. On what basis should we be refusing to vaccine children, scientifically or otherwise? The evidence is quite clear that stopping transmission includes getting all vectors under control, no?

As for Dr. Fauci's stance on masks at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 and what his stance is now, I found several articles addressing this. The sources are varied and range from the conservative side, from Trump's side, to the liberal side. He did not apologize for his earlier remarks about masks simply because it isn't necessary. Americans should have been aware that advice changes as more information becomes available or known.
