I am guessing because it's very difficult to have a third layer and have any dimension in your look because you're wearing like 2 items. 😂 The looks are usually so casual too. I hate feeling too casual.
I mean I do love the sun and summer, but dressing in autumn doesn't feel like I need to dress for the weather, it's simply what I want to style. summer instead is restricting everything about the styling process :(
Hi, I have noticed this tendency too, despite I have the countercurrent experience. I live in a desperately hot and humid country in summer, yet it's my favourite dressing season, after spring. It's definitely related to my anti-cold vibe (I really struggle to feel polished and cool when I am covered in multy layers of scarves, gloves, hood and hat because it's ridiculously humid even in winter), but yet in summer I can just put on an airy dress, stylish sandals and it's done, voilà and so easy. It might also be the influence of cultural factors, since sun tanning it's still very popular here and people in summer like to wear brighter colours they wouldn't be able to pull off in winter... Even if I am a retired metalhead, there are colours I look forward for the hot season, when in a fresh fabric and with some tan they would definitely look better.
Swiss here... I don't like Summer 😅 I take beach holidays at the end of September because I can't function in the heat. That said, basically all my Summer clothes are linen and thin cotton at this point. Lyocell is really good too. I hate sweating but I like to be well dressed regardless. And I absolutely chase shadow while outside. I am pale as a ghost and have no issue with it staying that way until Autumn. My favourite accessory in Summer is a hand fan. Yep I am that person who's fanning all day LOL
I stay in denim shorts or sleeveless dresses or just my bathing suit w/ a cover up and Birkenstocks every single day. I also own my own Jeep with leather seats that can be cooled or heated. So no worries about sitting on public transportation seating being from Texas and all. ❤
Can’t believe you didn’t mention silk! Silk pants and dresses are so wonderful to wear. It’s also my go to for knits, silk or silk cashmere blended knits can be super light. I have a very fem aesthetic though so maybe that’s why I love silk so much.
I knew this would come, I just don’t have the best experience with the classic flowy silk garments, as it’s not very absorbing and sometimes even uncomfortable. I’m sure it works better when blended with another fabric ❤️
This 👆 silk shows all my face/body oils/sweat in a very unflattering way. I live in arizona and i will say hemp bed sheets are like linen but even softer. For the desert i give double thumbs to hemp!

i am in texas too, but i still love to wear a lot of fabric, i wear linen jackets and maxi dress even in the 100+ days. I heard about a study where researchers found that the Bedouin's clothing, you know those long black robes, kept the body much cooler than white t-shirt and shorts. This was because black fabric blocks out more UV radiation and the loose robes allowed better air flow and sweat to evaporate quicker.
Can you do a video for visiting super hot places, and what to wear in actual hot weather? Wool and pants wouldn’t work. For instance, ideas for hats, summer dresses, perforated fabrics, cute UPF clothing.
I live in northern Australia and as a red head I cannot recommend linen enough. I do long sleeve collared shirts and long pants in summer, yes you’re going to sweat, but in linen it will dry. Conversely silk is a great one for UV protection but it might stain more easily. Hats always, I find a wide brim better and Panama/straw hats are pretty timeless.

Everything baggy, baggy cotton dresses, baggy tops and loose skirts or trousers. Skirts and dresses are better for air circulation but it’s personal preference. Loose clothing allows for better air circulation as well. You can also go for light scarfs to tie over your hair so your scalp doesn’t get burnt. If you have curly hair, wear it curly, it’ll keep you cool but you want to keep it off your shoulders. I’m from a tropical country and that’s really what we do, plus stay out of the sun as much as possible. My go to in a summer in the city is smth long (pants or skirt) preferably with long sleeve shirt and semi closed shoes - the dust, elements, other peoples sweat and just general nastyness of a city of the summer is horrible and i want to protect myself
I suffer here in São Paulo, I give up and end up wearing the same everyday, cotton tee/silk crepe blouse and jeans, sometimes silk skirt and a viscose tank top.
