I was there too! I have footage from Morrissey's walk up to the building but I'm having trouble recovering from the disc. Hopefully, I'll be able to post it soon.
I had a random thought of an interview I listened to with Morrissey and Richard blade at kroq, when I was a teenager. I look it up and there it is... unbelievable! But I could swear this was in 1989, not 1990..??? I also recorded the interview but god knows where it went. I met Richard Blade in 93
Brent Little Too young for something like this to happen to me but it must’ve been a crazy experience hearing it again after so many years. Probably 89 because Bona Drag obviously wasn’t out yet.
Thank you so much for posting this and making it accessible to everyone who otherwise would not have even heard of this, it is very much appreciated, thank you
This was the last time The Smiths could've realistically reunited. Moz didn't have a band at this point, it was that quiet period after Viva Hate and it was before Kill Uncle. He even expressed here that he would take a phone call from Johnny and start up The Smiths again. Once he got Alain Whyte and Box Boorer after the recording of Kill Uncle in the studio that was it. Oh, what could've been....
Reunion means nothing really. They did what they could and no more. Keats died a5 25 - it's pointless to speculate what he might've written; we should be grateful for what we have.
I wouldn't ever put faith in something Morrissey said concerning The Smiths. He was probably well over the whole affair and was glad to be on his own, basking in the reverence
3:44 / jYEhS, I AM glad that You said that You like listening to Your music because I like listening to Your music too and knowing You are You, You'd have a lot of Your music on hand sOoOoOoO, let's listen to Your music, okay 😊😊😊?
Take me out tonight because I want to see people and I want to see life really I love him sosince meeting him at pier 84 in N.Y.C. Me and my wife Toni love you Steven
You shouldn't go vegetarian for Morrissey's sake. He's just raising awareness. You should go vegetarian for moral purposes, possibly sparked by Mozz's concerns. Therefore, if you enjoy pig flesh and aren't swayed by the aspect of murder, eat your damn pig flesh! I'm sure Mozz would forgive. Pickle solved.
I loved bacon for 40+ years n since around February I can't stand it anymore. The smell and taste is now dirty to me. Sausages also turn my stomach. I want to love them still but don't. Eat what you want mate. No pickle here. Listen to Moz n eat yer bacon. Enjoy. 😁
Wow. I actually had this exact interview on this cassette tape pictured!
Superb interview..and we heard Morrissey laugh a couple of times..a rarity in itself!
I have the impression that he laughs in most of his interviews. Many of the songs too are humorous.
Morrissey and the Smiths are my favorite artists of all time.
Mine too. So proud to be from the same city as them.
I was there outside that day! thank you for sharing!

I appreciate this tape with Morrissey and hear him talking about personal and worldly situations. Thank you.

Wow what a great interview. Fantastic
I produced that show🙋🏻♂️
Stay here with all of us FOREVER
Omg...love this. Richard Blade is the nicest person.
Strange, but the music sounds so different in this recording to the digital version on Spotify... Far more heady and i somehow hear it more clearly
Spotify compresses the sound so you lose some of the depth. It’s why vinyl records sound better than cds or digital files.
This is great thanks for sharing!!
Morrissey has got that droll British sense of humor...love it. I think Richard's questions may have set him up with all the funny lines, tho.
Morrissey is amazing, but growing up on Southern California, especially in the South Bay of LA, Richard Blade was king.
the "del taco" commercial is quite ironic...
I was there at the KROQ building when he went in through the front door. Wave of fans pulling on him.

my favorite moz interview
🖤
I remember listening to that live.
Excellent interview, thanks for sharing. Out of curiosity, is it only the songs that are pitched/sped down, or is it the entire interview?
Just the few glitches due to imperfections in the tape.
nintendo? what?- morrissey
Oh my… I went on to be @ Your Arsenal concert.

Can't believe they hid the beer and tequila in the car...
I may have chased after him shortly after this interview...lol whoops...when you finally realize how powerful you really are....😵 lol
I'm going to call Faces International and see if it the number still works.

I'm in a conflict, a pickle if you will.
I adore Morrissey but I can't abstain from bacon.

i love it
When the interviewer gets the title of There Is a Light wrong... criiiiinge
Like you just did, you mean! 😂
@@jimnewcombe7584 double cringe
This ends when Richard Blade cautiously brings up Johnny Marr. I suppose this is when Morrissey abruptly walked out with his pet hamster.
