I absolutely love the stained glass look of the crumbs on black! This is such an amazing way to get some fabric therapy in! Thanks for the inspiration.
Oh WOW. That quilt is so beautiful. MY GOODNESS. If I were judging your quilt in a show, YOUR QUILT would get First Prize. It looks a bit like stained glass, I love it.
“To feel like you’re saving all of their lives!”😂😂❤❤ That’s hilarious! I love these crumb blocks. I need to go and play with this idea RIGHT now. Thanks for the inspiration.
As I watched you put the black centered blocks together, I was remembering the old slate board that I used to play with when I was a child. I was thinking those blocks would be a wonderful place to applique letters and child-like drawings on to. But, your stained glass crumbs are much better. I love this idea. Thank you for this video.
I love the stained glass blocks. I think it might be easier and faster to sew the ‘crumbs’ onto the black blocks before pitying the entire quilt top together.
I agree that would be easier if you are doing the attaching on your domestic machine. I would do them right after I framed the black pieces and before sewing the top together. Good point!!
Could I please borrow your brain for a year or two…you are just amazing and I look forward to all your new videos plus I replay almost all of your old ones…Happy 2025 and watching you is definitely a great way to Be Merry♥️♥️
I LOVE this pattern. Great use of crumbs. So pretty! I like the second one much better than the first. I wonder how it would look with the directional fabric all black. Hmmm....
It reminds me of an artsy thing we did as kids called, "Black Magic." If i remember correctly, we would take a piece of paper then crayon all kinds of color on it. Then we would take a black crayon and apply it over the crayon colors . Then we would take a pencil and draw on the black top to reveal a mulit-colored design. We thought it was pretty cool.
@@tchr1106 If I were doing it on a domestic machine, I would sew them on after putting the first border around the black. THEN piece the quilt. I do it on my longarm - So I like it the way I did it. Here is a video which shows me applying crumbs. ruclips.net/video/SWCqD4i-xm0/видео.html
👋🏻👋🏻 what awesome tutorial. Love how you explain things. I do have a ? Do you steam or dry iron when you set your seams? Oh by the way Happy New Year 🎉❤
How did you sew on the crumbs Thanks for tut You’re so fun and talented If crumb pieces were bigger I was thinking an I spy would be so cute Just thinking out loud 😊❤❤
Thanks for showing how you used a directional fabric as a background❣️ I too get easily confused when using directional fabric but I love it when it turns out the way I intended.
What is your best idea for ensuring your seams stay straight , I am left handed and sometimes I find I slightly veer to one sided. I have spoken with other left handlers who have found the same. Thank you for sharing .😊
ruclips.net/video/SWCqD4i-xm0/видео.html This is the recent video we made showing how they are created into the quilt. We show all the answers to your questions. Enjoy!
You didn’t show how you put the crumbs on there. This is not a very beginner video. You might want to put that on your description so people understand that because they probably are hoping to watch you actually put the crumbs on there and if all you did was iron them on then I think it defeated the crumb process. Anyone could just cut up portions and make it look the way you did on that fused fabric and iron them on, but they thought it was a crumb quilt like you saw it together that way you did not show the sewing process of it therefore not like I said a beginner quilt. Sorry if you take this negatively, but I didn’t want to put it a thumbs down.
I appreciate you asking. Actually there is a spot in the video where I refer everyone to a recent video that we just made a month ago. And it is also recommended in the description and is recommended at the end of the video. I'm sorry you felt confused. Here is the link to that video if you would like to see the tutorial of me putting the crumbs on. This video was actually made for my audience because several people reached out and wanted to see it on black. ruclips.net/video/SWCqD4i-xm0/видео.html
I am going to try this but I will sew the crumbs on first to each block before joining them or layering them to be quilted. I would go crazy having to twist and turn each crumb to quilt it in place within each block. I would love to know how you would do it for a king size quilt. Thank you very much for sharing. I love your sense of humor.
ruclips.net/video/SWCqD4i-xm0/видео.html Here is a link to show how I attach them with my longarm. I think your idea to attach them (after the first color border) is smart. Especially if you ware totally working on a domestic machine. If you are hiring a longarmer - you could pin or glue them.
If you want help to add crumbs to your quilt, this video link shows you how. ruclips.net/video/SWCqD4i-xm0/видео.html

I remember doing art like that in grade school. It was amazingly fun!
I believe our class used black tempra paint over the crayon, then we scratched a design onto the black to reveal all the colors . Such fun!
