MANY thanks for uploading Poulenc's rather underrated score! This modest-scale hybrid concerto-ballet from 1929 is better in some respects than the Piano Concerto with full orchestra from 20 years later. As to the soundtrack, I'd have preferred the Eric Le Sage performance, as this one, while competently played, is a tad antiseptic in spots. To be fair, Poulenc recalled aiming for a sense of "detachment" in the work, hence the clipped, pseudo-French-Baroque recitatives, but Le Sage and conductor Stéphane Denève get it spot-on right.
