As someone who also performs magic, I can't even begin to tell you how incredibly impressive this is to me. I mean... I'm not a professional magician or anything, I just started a channel to try to raise awareness and money for charity, but it's been a hobby for a long time, and I'm...better than average, at least. I can cull a card. I can cull several cards. And you probably wouldn't notice. But a magician might. Penn or Teller either one _definitely_ would. What he did (the Roadrunner cull) is really hard, and pretty incredible all on its own, but... Then you have to remember that he did it with two world famous, professional magicians standing just feet away, staring at his hands, _specifically watching for the method,_ and *neither one of them* caught it. And the best part is that I know that at least one of them thought "That was incredible... it's like he culled half the deck. But he couldn't have. Nobody could cull that many cards that fast." I have no doubt about it. Before this, nobody would have believed it was even possible to do what he did. He created an entirely new method to cull. It's insane.
Seriously at first I was like, how is it possible Penn and Teller were defeated by a cull? Especially Teller. It's also possible (and I think likely) that they knew what was happening but like you said, it was clean enough that they let it slide. They said before that for sleight-of-hand tricks, their criteria is that they'll count it as a Fooler even if they knew the method, as long as they didn't flash anything and did it perfectly. BTW, check out Richard Turner's performance on Fool Us if you want to see something god tier sleight-of-hand. Blows Kostya out of their water.
They actually knew the method and knew how he did it but since during the performance they did not see any flashes or mistake at all, as he is so skillful as a magician, they just have to concede and give him the trophy. As a fellow conjurer, it's not enough that you know the method, you have to actually caught how he did it so you can say you are actually fooled. Kostya is just a freaking monster in terms of sleight of hand coz it's not just magic anymore, he's ACTUALLY doing the thing that the effect itself is MAGICAL!!!
Basically, the trick is amazing, but knowing how the trick is done is even much more amazing because it shows how much practice the magician must have to be able to do this right in front of Penn and Teller noses. Just amazing.
The best magic trick is how YOU figure out these seemly impossible amazing magic! You are THE KING OF FIGURING OUT INCREDIBLE magic tricks! I am VERY impressed!
The guts to perform close-up, in front of them, that alone, is remarkable. And card trick he does, is brilliant. He could have a complete stranger give him a deck of cards, and it would work of course.
@ACE Brilliant Explanation... And its no wonder Penn was so annoyed!!! I just watched teh OG clip and then Penn talking about it... As Penn and teller performed teh very same trick only months before, so they thought they knew every possible trick to make it work, yet he slipped it past them! He GENUINELY FOOLED THEM! Watching your Footage, WOW! His slight of hand was so fast... I totally missed it... And for PENN TO MISS IT DESPITE BEING SAT THAT CLOSE... The man is excellent at his craft!!! Even knowing how its done... Its still astounding! You have to have some skill to pull that off!!!
so first of all, i love Kostya Kimlat, i think he's phenomenal! i am still confused about the result of this performance. they obviously knew all of this. so how did he fool them? had they said "you grouped all the face down cards together, and all the face up cards together, and kept our two cards in the opposite piles, and then you turned one of the piles the other way and stacked them together", as smoothly as he did that, would that not have been enough to bust him? what was the extra thing they missed that fooled them? again, Kostya is seriously amazing, and this was maybe the best performance of this trick in the world xD i just don't understand which part fooled Penn and Teller.
They did not know that technique, watch the full episode. There was also a video of Kostya explaining that. He took and old trick and used a technique they did not expect.
this is probably my favorite trick ever done on Fool Us. so simple, yet elegant and requires a master of sleight of hand.

what a beast. no tricks. all skill.
Yes🙌
The ability to do this is incredible, but to pull it off in front of P and T takes balls.
woow -------good magic ❤❤❤
This is called the roadrunner cull, created by Kimlat.

Kostya Kimlat's tricks on Fool Us both seem like it would have been easier to learn real magic than to do them via manual dexterity.
That would be ridiculously hard to pull off haha
Any tutorial for controlling cards in the spread, the transfer he made to his right hand 4:46
I always thought it was quite obvious how he did it - but he was very ballsy!!
Takes courage
Great
this is real magic, not stupid engineering tricks where someone create a hidden compartment.
Yeah, but were some of the cards facing up, and some of the cards facing down? That is the only question.
I pinky promise that I know how to do this.
Cull move at the best
did he fool penn and teller
The real magic is how did you get more than 140k sub with only 37 videos please tell me
140 subs but never a 140 views or comment's! like other channels with supposedly large number of subscribers I think you tube fixes numbers
The ratio of views Vs. subscribers is indeed extremely low. I checked for channels related to magic ratio is 1/2 ~ 1/4. Now it is less than 1/100 😢
@@xaviertsui9471 Thanks for the maths info
It's an old channel opened in 2014.
Nope
Fooled them with a Triumph? Really?
🙌
It's his variation of the Triumph. The trick is for sale on his website, it's called the Roadrunner Cull.
