@achelec. Thank you for posting this excellent Chris Rea track. Back in September of 1984, I saw Chris in concert at the Odeon Theatre, New St., Birmingham, U.K., and Chris played “Guitar Street” live in his set. Hearing his latest album at that time - “Water Sign”, prompted me to see him live. I knew Chris was good, but not this good! Been a fan ever since. I vaguely remember on the night Chris dedicating (maybe?) “Guitar Street” to one of his slide guitar heroes - Joe Walsh. Thanks again. You and yours stay safe and well.
@monke7177. From what I can remember of that gig in 1984, Chris was really showcasing his then latest album “Water Sign”. He did play “Fool If You Think It’s Over” and some other tracks from his previous albums - “Diamonds” I think was in the set that night. But when Chris played “Midnight Blue” he really let rip on slide guitar - really stretching out in the outro’! A bit off topic - I saw Chris play at the then Hammersmith Odeon - maybe 1986 (?). The live version of “Midnight Blue” from that show was released as the b - side of a 2 x 45rpm special edition/mix of “On The Beach” as an a - side. The live track is maybe 4 minutes long. Good luck with your search for Chris Rea archive recordings and video. Stay safe and well.
@@markmiwurdz2248 Thank you so much for the information! Diamonds live would have been brilliant. I have the double pack of on the beach and i agree that the version of Midnight Blue is fantastic, also found the full concert here on RUclips. All the best.

Thanks for sharing the story He was his hero indeed,as far as i know, so maybe. Thank you for your wishes, the same for you
Do you remember any of the other songs played? Only ask as we have very limited information about Chris' concerts before 1985?
