The new Miniac video style is a breath of fresh air. You are doing a great job of creating a new version of classic Miniac, that blends seamlessly with this new way of presentation. I love this, it makes content less important and the way you present information the most important part of each video. This is very Good Eats vibe, great job.
That reminds me of a terrain project I did around 15 years ago, during my time with Warmachine. Since that game has rules for destructible terrain, I built simple walls out of 1x4 Legos, attached them to plates, and glued pieces together where they should stay firm, only leaving it unglued slightly above the base, in warjack sized chunks. Covered it in greenstuff, modeling some brick textures. After painting I was left with wall sections, that could be broken off and re-attached to simulate battle damage
The fact we can pick up the same paint job that you've done here is really cool! I love this wide spread influence in the hobby that you have, absolutely well deserved. Nothing but the highest respect and adoration for you man
As an owner of the first and now second iteration of snot goblin terrain, I can confidently say its my favorite terrain for the price hand downs. I play 40k mainly, but I’ve been getting into kill team and changing the terrain to whatever we want every game is a game changer.
Fantastic take on terrain that's meant to be flexible! It's a great bit of inspiration for anyone who wants to spice up some basic terrain - also MINIAC MONDAYS WOO!!!!
I really like the structure of this video. seeing you on the couch, around your hobby space, getting bits and the process of areas you move to for different stages of a project and video. it feels cozy and welcoming like we are getting to hobby together. It feels like you older videos that made me fall in love with your channel.
Since your explanation on TUP about what you say at the beginning of a video, I have paid extra attention. Right at the start you tell us what we can expect and I really appreciate that!
I do think that the concept is great idea and I hope as more time goes on we get more building types like medieval castles and such. And I feel like for most who don’t want to build terrain that this is a great option. I hope that you also don’t need a 3D printer and you can just order what you need or sets
I've had mixed results adding water to dirty down products or reactivating it with a wet brush. Still inconsistent and hard to fully control, but can create that lighter color
I've totally run into the same issues with DD Moss, I have a little more success when i thin it a bit with water but its still not 100%. I am also shaking and hairdrying before anyone comments.
I've been a fan of Snot Goblin terrain since the first kickstarter! Love the stuff. Really suits my needs and it's easy to change up when you get bored with your current layout.
genuinely, a sponsor letting you critique the product makes me more likely to buy it - when i dont hear all the details about a product in an ad or review, im always worried about a catch somehow. when you tell me everything about a product, i know what im getting into so im less worried about a hidden catch. good on you snot goblin! oh, and great vid as always :^]
Oh WOW! I picked up some vintage Lego pirate sets recently for nostalgic value and was thinking just how useful a similar system could be for 40k/AOS. I'm not a fan of the trend for these MDF terrain kits with stickers on them. Sure, they are speedy to put together, but nice terrain like this brings the tabletop to life.
This terrain is amazing. I leave it modular, and have an easy way to play all warhammer competitive maps, and even use it for kill team. Just need to find a way to paint it and keep it durable
Not sure that it was noted where you got the bits for the Bone Altar - really need to find some books like that for my Tome Keepers... thanks for anyone's help on this.
@Miniac I appreciate you taking the time to respond, even with that you didn't know. If I come across some that aren't in the dark angels kits I'll let you know
Awesome video as always! I actually really like how blue the wash tinted the building, it gave it more of a night time, vampire like feel overall. Speaking of enamel wash, you use? I've been using oil paints diluted down with mineral spirits as my wash, but a pre-mix enamel in a bottle would be so much more efficient...
Honestly...having a kid that's now 15, let's say I have a huge pile of lego that we have gathered through the years, and well...I have been contemplating how to use them for some army-miniature terrain for 40k (without being immersion-breaking, seeing some plain ol' lego terrain, of course!) And you know what? I have came to the conclusion that, there's nothing well thought structures covered in miliput OR mastic putty, cannot do. Use whatever pieces you want, then cover them with a more or less thin amount of miliput or putty, and sculpt it to your liking. I bet your friends will never think they've been playing with some terrain that's nothing more than some "lego-skeletals" underneath.
I have to say that more than the critique of the pieces I'm surprised they allowed you to glue it up. That basically takes away most of the hook for this product. How solid was the building when it was put together with no glue? Will it survive moving from table to shelf or will it disintegrate and have to be rebuilt?
Hey Scott. We have purchased a full-sized pool table for our DnD group. I can see a cool table in this video. Was that once a pool table too or did you custom built it? Do you have a video about DnD tables? I'd love to get some ideas of how we can modify the one we purchased. Cup holders for the pockets, LED strips around the edge and underneath. Plus speakers built into the body with a decent subwoofer for that sweet sweet ambient DnD music. Do you have any recommendations of who I can check out for some cool ideas.
The table I have in the office is from Bandpass Design, a company that specializes in making gaming tables. A while back, I did make my own coffee-gaming table, but I didn't incorporate any of the cool features you just mentioned: ruclips.net/video/EIgNcU_Djg0/видео.html
@@Miniac Thanks for replying Sensei. Yeah, we have lots of cool plans for this table. Hopefully we can add a lovely top to it so it doubles as a normal table in the cafe when it's not in use. We have a local chippie (carpenter) who is interested in converting it.
@@Miniac Thanks for the link. Damn, what a massive effort. But honestly, I make mistakes all the time when I'm doing anything carpentry based. I'm not a chippie so that's not surprising. I envy you having an actual workbench. I usually cut my stuff on a small folding table or off the edge of my porch steps using my leg as a brace. lol. Professional for sure! So how is that table going now?
Do you occasionally speed up the audio at the end or beginning of some of your sentences, or do you just say some things super quickly? I’ve noticed it during TUP as well so I’m just curious! Edit: the paint job looks fantastic, I love the blue hue and it goes great with the soulblight
The channel HeldDerSteine can tell you a story about years of legal battles against Lego for using the term without actually showing Lego. I guess you will get a mail or two in the next days from their lawyers 😔😔
And here I thought this was gonna be about lego Warhammer models
I wish. We need a Warhammer version of the lego Monster Hunter guy.
I know, dare to dream, lol.
GW should work together with BlueBrixx on a 40k or AoS "Lego" range.
Welcome to the internet, it's mostly thirst traps and clickbait.
To be fair, the main thing you build with Lego is structures/buildings

That Vince t-shirt goes really hard 😂
Thanks! lol

Thanks so much for doing the video! It looks great and love what you did with it, gave me some ideas to convert... my own hah
Evil Lord Business had to bust out the Kraggle. Someone needs to help him open his heart to reconfiguring his “Lego” to have fun.
Literally said, "Release the Kragle!" when Scott busted out the cement. 😂
I love the increased video releases over the past couple of weeks. Keep them coming!

Is it better than dungeons and lasers?
I hear Nurgle Matt owns a set and likes it, too

Woooooooooooooo

That transition to the work desk had some great Mr. Rogers vibes.
My 10 year old will love watching this with me. Saving it for later today. He is all about legos and it is a cool merger with miniature painting!
Wonder how it compares to dungeons and lasers stuff. I’m a big fan of archon studios
The cork gap filling is a sweet idea. Cheers for another great Video, it's always fun seeing Peoples terrain ideas/inspiration.
More Miniac than I have ever seen. Keep it up Scott! Love everything you mate. 🙏
I love the the Vince t-shirt.
Also using off white enamel/oil washes to do the grout in between the bricks is inspired. I may have to steal that.

10:30 - get a coffee stirrer into that Dirty Down product and you are golden.
I've had mixed results adding water to dirty down products or reactivating it with a wet brush. Still inconsistent and hard to fully control, but can create that lighter color
Awesome sponsor! Awesome details added. Love how this looks.
Terrain options really create great unique gameplay situations more than new models do.
The best color scheme in the KS. Great work!
I've totally run into the same issues with DD Moss, I have a little more success when i thin it a bit with water but its still not 100%. I am also shaking and hairdrying before anyone comments.
These keep getting advertised to me on Instagram... I'm glad to see them in the wild. They look pretty sweet!
Armies + terrain in the same color scheme always looks sooo nice
Agreed!

The fact that they are this cool with criticism immediately makes me more interested in the product.
Very great work, Miniac! Definitely rocked it 👌
Love this video, would love to see more terrain content

This is great motivation to get started on my terrain that's been in the pile for months now!
Lets go Scott! So happy to see a regular upload schedule from you!
Nice fit on that button-up. Its a good look.
Thank you!

I'm building terrain now. Love it!
Why do you have to get my hopes up about a crossover - "In the grim darkness of the far future there is only... everything is awesome!"
@@Kaisi90 hahahaha
Love the way your vampires turn out - big reason I got my hands on the Duchess! Next big project for me!
Looks great! Nice terrain set.
AK wargames enamel washes are amazing. The black is 🙌 panel liner
Bro got me excited for absolutely no reason, least we didn’t have to wait long into the video to see there was no cross over happening
Love seeing terrain come to life with a sick paint job! Full diorama when?
I got my snot goblin terrain months ago. I love it!
Not sure that it was noted where you got the bits for the Bone Altar - really need to find some books like that for my Tome Keepers... thanks for anyone's help on this.
I WISH I could remember where that part came from. Sadly I have no idea.

Lovely video, we can learn so much from you Scott
Oh wow, really cool
Absolutely beautiful terrain
Very V Rising styled, loving it!
Do you think painting and customizing the individual parts might work, even though more work, to keep the modularity?
If you have any pieces left, Would you be willing to prime the pieces prior to assembly and see how they fit together after?
The exposed connectors kinda work for 40k stuff since id imagine thats how a lot of the structures are built in the setting
I got a half table set, this is great stuff!
This seems really cool

First Drukhari now Soulblight, i swear if i pick up an army ill hear Scott has picked it up 😹
The exposed connector bits on the walls remind me WAY more of very old Playmobil castle wall bits than lego.
I thought I was going mad seeing Vinces face in your shirt in some of the shots, hahaha.
Your "MOIST" jokes always make me smile. Please do not ever get rid of them.
Cool.
Now ask them to do Sector Mechanicus and Zone Mortalis type for Necromunda.
In the Facebook group theres a ton of paint schemes, including mine. Mines similar looking to Miniacs.
This sounds and Looks like a True Premium Product! If ONLY I Had the Money for it!...
The ruins look sick with that paint scheme!

How solid was the building when it was put together with no glue? Will it survive moving from table to shelf or will it disintegrate and have to be rebuilt?
I think maybe some of those tiny pieces would fall off, but otherwise it would hold together but admittedly I did not test this
What is it? What is it? Ooooh. I see. Cool!
I almost didn't click this video because I saw Lego and I have no interest in Lego. Was happily surprised to see its modular terrain.
SURE
Oh no! Lego in the thumbnail, but no Lego product in the video. I hope Lego's lawyers leave you in peace >.
i will never not wince watching you cut towards your fingers, scott
Aaaaaaaahhhhh soo good ❤
We literally used Duplo blocks for my last 40k game for terrain lol
What scale on those bricks brother? I ordered some and they were too big.
I swear the thumbnail for this video has changed every time I’ve seen it come on my feed. Surely I can’t be the only one noticing this?
What dry brush mat is that? Pro not original use intention i imagine. Looks cool tho
I think it's an artist opus d-series or an army painter dry brush that looks similar

ah, yes! LeHammer, my favorite company!
Using legos name could get some unwanted attention from their legal department. Sadly, they are very protective of their name
Thank you for the heads up!
In before copyright infringement takedown of LEGO, they don f around with that stuff.
early monday release? heck yeah
Duuude that's a wild amount if terrain! Sorry for stating the obvious... 😅
Watch Out Scott! calling something LEGO or claming that TM for other stuff on RUclips can backlash on you.

Haha, sometimes I just speak really quickly 😅
I love LegHammer
They really should include a different connector for the floor of the upper levels, having that base rock texture as an overhang is really lazy.
Are you still looking to get a UK store to stock your goods?
I am!
Woohoo!!
did you censor Kickstarter? Sounds like you said *startr every time...
Ha! Nice new thumbnail 😂
Nice concept. But please, no more ruins.
Just finished mine a few days ago. Will use it tomorrow for the first time. So far I'm loving it!
Can't seem to find that link to the kickstarter ..
Going live on Nov 5, so tomorrow. For now, the link points to a landing page.
Terrain isn't painted either solid red or solid blue, I'd never see it on a table.
This looks a lot more like Playmo than Lego.
k, I like the bits drawer. Thats smart as shit vs my big ass tupperware

Where is my lego contemptor!?
Good video
So many different video titles and the irony of its current title 😂
