    This was one of my long term favourites of the 1.2m class. FmS Voodoo motor and on 5s this was a 125mph all day anyday plane. Also the Nanchange was awesome too. These 2 birds i love cos they easily fit large lipos in there and carry the weight no problem

    • @RCPlaneReviewer
      @RCPlaneReviewer  9 месяцев назад +2

      Yes lots of room inside for 5000mah 4s lipos! I like it in its stock platform but will probably upgrade it

      It's shape cries for more speed. It looks like a jet but with a turbo prop on the front. No wonder they use them as military trainers for entry into jets.

      @@M4rkmcc21 by the way, what motor exactly did you use for the upgrade? I might do an upgrade video

    • @M4rkmcc21
      @M4rkmcc21 9 месяцев назад +1

      It's the FMS 3948 kv900 motor. The motor mount it comes with fits straight onto existing holes left from the smaller motor. Use screws with as small of a head as possible as they will touch the motor when screwing in. 4s is very quick and the bigger stronger motor allows for a more aggressive pitch. We're limited with diameter of prop due to its landing gear length. Think 11 is max on manicured grass. 5s is the best as you can link a 3 and 2s and carry alot of mah. The weight also makes the plane stable. You'd get away with a Predator 100A esc if you keep the pitch to a 10 max. Leave about 1cm of the shaft after cutting it for the prop adapter to bite onto. Dont use stock 4 blade the Voodoo comes with. It unnecessarily ups the Amps and you're tied to the props spec. APC 2 blade also sounds menacing. I've done this conversion on every 1.2m I had (p39, corsair etc). It's a must as these birds for me are silly slow at 85mph maxed out. Its not just the speed it's the climb rate ul enjoy and having the power available when you need it. Oh ans that motor is also good for repalcing in any elfite or fms plane that uses that same 3541 motor like the Supercub, maul, commander etc. Its esp fun in the 1.1m class STOL planes like the Xfly Glastar. I fly that on a 2800 5s and its absolutly insane. 100% do a build vid mate many ppl will enjoy it 🍻

    The real plane is a jet prop.
    And they're about 400 miles an hour.

      @@RCPlaneReviewer Would you say a 3S would be too underpowered for this plane? Its coming in next week and I'm debating on if I should get new batteries. Thanks for the reply!

      Swap out the old motor and prop and drop in a new, more powerful combo that will fix the need for speed. It flies well enough that it's worth it

      @M4rkmcc21 9 месяцев назад +1

      Put the fms Voodoo motor in and run it on 4s or 5s. I use them motors in my 1.2m birds cos I hate slow performers. My pilatus does 125mph

      @RCPlaneReviewer ditch the 5 blade prop. Ul have to cut off half the prop shaft of the voodoo and stick a 6mm clevis style prop adapter on. A 10x12 APC prop will be about 80A on 4s and 110A on 5s. Way better on 5s 4000. I just use the Hobbywing flyfun 120a esc. The motor is 4mm bullets so ul need an esc to match. And 100% reinforce the foam hinges with tape. My pilatus was coming down like a meteorite from space and I pulled up into headwind and ripped the EL off. Game over for it.
