    Cool drill at the end, I like the shin bump to re entry / recovery, simple and practical, I feel like a lot of counters to that involve going to x so nice to see simpler and effective counters like this out there

    Hey Vlad and Evo BJJ,
    Could you guys make a video on armbar grip break? In the bicep slicer video Vlad says he almost always breaks the grip, so what are his go to grip breaks?
    Thanks

    • @EvoBJJ
      @EvoBJJ  8 лет назад

      Sure we could do that. I recommend watching Roberto Cyborg Abreu vs Bernardo Faria. Bernardo uses the highest percentage grip break in that match. Check it out

    Coach, near the end, when he peels the foot, what if he gets his knee down? move on, end of single x? or is there a recovery?

    Hi Mike,
    Thank you for the awesome video. I have two questions:
    - If I decide to knee reap and gator roll it looks like to me that you can actually end up in a game over position which is pretty cool. Also if I decide to go for the inverted heel hook and put his leg on my other side I'm in a inside sankaku position which is also very strong. Do I see this correctly?
    - My other question is the position at 5:30. I see that SLX wise it is a bad position. But I can still go for a De La Riva Guard right?
    Thank you!

    • @EvoBJJ
      @EvoBJJ  6 лет назад

      Hey Sir! Thanks for the questions. to answer you're first, you are absolutely right.
      The gator roll puts you in contention for a very deep leg lock and you can pass it over for an inside heel hook.
      To answer your second question, you could go for DLR but if his leg is deep in between yours, and you guys have the alternating leg pattern, your opponent is 'ahead' in the back-step race. You could of course still be fine. When i watch Eddie Cummings, he always re-adjusts his leg control to be superior as opposed to going DLR when his opponents step in.

    Jay Queiroz will defend your your x guard and single leg x

  • @MoreSwoleTheyKnow

    so the foot that's not seen in the video for the single leg x is right behind his glutes or tailbone?

    • @MoreSwoleTheyKnow
      @MoreSwoleTheyKnow 8 лет назад

      For single leg x is there a preference when it comes to overhooking or underhooking the leg that's being wrapped up?

    • @EvoBJJ
      @EvoBJJ  8 лет назад

      Either one, where ever you feel optimal control.

    • @EvoBJJ
      @EvoBJJ  8 лет назад

      +MoreSwole overbooking the leg will lead to footlocks and control and undercooking the leg will lead to you transitioning to X Guard
