Interesting. Perhaps try my Citroen tutorial and see if it comes out like a Porsche ;) (To be fair - this is a really difficult one. Hope you give it another try)
That's great to hear! I'm so glad the films are proving useful. You'll find the quick side views are a good way to practice your linework and will help you think about measuring/proportion. If you fancy something a bit more complicated have a look at the perspective and other films I made. Good luck!
I started my art journey a few years ago, but over the past few weeks, I’ve been back at it harder than ever. I’m honestly so happy because I love sketching, and your videos have played such an important role in my progress. I love how you explain things so clearly. The Porsche 911 is one of my favorite cars (specifically the GT3 RS), but I’m not quite there yet with my skills to draw something that advanced. However, this recent work was such a great step for me. It’s not exactly like yours, but I’m really proud of it, and I can’t wait for more of your videos. Thank you from the bottom of my heart-your guidance means a lot, and I can’t wait to draw like you one day!
Wow, thanks! That might be the nicest comment I've ever had. I always love to hear about people getting into drawing and am delighted to have played a small part. Really hope you stick to it and see some good improvements. But don't get disheartened when you don't - there are times when you make big jumps and other periods where you just have to work at it without seeing much happen. Also, here's another secret, you never get to complete it. No matter how good you get, you'll always realise there's a bit more you can learn - and improve. But that's what keeps it interesting :) Good luck! (Also, if you join me (even as a free member) on Patron, you can post sketches and use the discussion board. I'd be very happy to help if you ever want feedback or advice)
@@StefanMarjoram I just wanted to say thank you so much for your kind words! They really mean a lot to me, and it’s so encouraging to hear such positive feedback. I really appreciate the advice, and I’ll definitely keep pushing through, even on those tougher days. It’s reassuring to know that there’s always something new to learn, no matter how far I go. At the moment, I’d genuinely be so, so happy to support you in any way I can to show my gratitude for everything you do-especially considering you’re offering all of this for free! The kindness you’ve shared with me means a lot. I’ve been having a bit of trouble with my Patreon login (seems like it’s an issue on my end), but I’m definitely going to try to fix it this weekend when I have some free time. Hopefully, I’ll be able to join and support you there soon! Thanks again for everything. I truly appreciate it!
@@imsoproheha That’s so great to hear! I often wonder how people get on. The great thing is - this would be exactly the same process you would use to draw a real car... start with a wheel and then use that wheel to measure the proportions of the rest of the car. See what things line up with each other - and Bob’s your uncle :)
Oak Swamp sent me your way. Very impressive art. Your vids playing in the garage make for a nice pace. I also like the commentary on cars and other topics as well.
Thanks for the nice comment - glad you like the videos. Just watch you don’t fall asleep whilst using your power tools - a lot of people have mentioned my soothing voice :)
Brilliant … ta very much! I discovered your channel in the November 2022 Porsche Club of America’s Panorama magazine. This may inspire me to sketch my 1999 Boxster! Cheers from Montreal.
Wonderful! If you use the basic idea of the wheels as a unit of measurement you shouldn't go too far wrong :) This video might help too... ruclips.net/video/BY9Cl9Bd_sI/видео.html Good luck!
Haha, sometimes I do wonder if they're a bit big. It's because I combine them with the wheel arch - for simplicity mostly - though I occasionally like to exaggerate the character a little by shrinking the wheelbase too.
Touch car to draw, complex dimensions. Well done! Will record the video you-know-what this coming week I believe. Making aure, your name is pronounced "Stef" (as in "step") "fan" (as in "dawn"), Major (as in "danger") "am" as in "I am". Yes? Thank you!!
Can't wait! Stef as in step, fan as in fan, Marjoram like margarine but with ram at the end - can't wait to see how you pronounce it - I've had all sorts :)
Not yet - but I'll add it to the list. If you try this one first, you should be able to apply the same process to a GT3. Obviously the proportions and details will change somewhat but the basic shape is still there. Good luck!
could you do a Ferrari 308 GTB? i tried it myself after watching this video from which i got some basic knowledge. my self drawn Porsche 911 looks pretty good but if i try the Ferrari 308 it looks bad really wondering how yours would look like. Thank you
Thanks for the great suggestion. That coke bottle shape would be fun to do. Though it’ll be hard to resist making it a 288GTO - one of my all time favourite cars :)
intresting nice i did loved it my fried shows how much u like this cars porshe is ugly but that european german natzi look i like i love it germen cars are prestige in my own opinion hi hitler kinda thing
Even though this took me an hour, it was well worth it. I loved how it came out. Thank you for this. I’ll be doing your corvette video tomorrow.
That's great to hear - thanks Don! The 911 is probably one of the hardest to do - with all those slight curves. Corvette should be a bit easier :)
I love that you’re using the 4-color Bic pen, that’s my everyday pen for the last 40 years!
It's a stationery classic :)
Mine turned into a citroen😭

I’m 14 and learning to draw.
Let me just say this is the first video of yours I’ve watched and it was easy to follow and enjoyable
Ps. NEW SUB😁

It's a great sketch. You expressed the characteristics of Porsche well.👍
Definitely a tricky one to get right.
