The interview we’ve all been waiting for what an absolute legend this man is. He was doing stoppies for fun before a certain Turkish rider was born. Whit was hanging off the bike like nobody else at the time brilliant style. I remember watching him at Mallory park in an early season race before the main superbike season had started must of been around 91 on a gsxr 750 he had cleared off from the pack & was pulling wheelies for fun what seemed to be the length of the back straight I had my old video camera filming him still got the footage. He even waved on the way past what a character. Of course at the time we didn’t know how intelligent he was off the bike no social media in those days. His mechanical knowledge & understanding is quite amazing. Shame he’s not doing the commentary on WSB anymore I’m sorry but mr Toseland just bores me to death he’s certainly got know natural gift or personality as does mr Whitham . I don’t watch it now Whits not on. Also another ridiculous situation wtf isn’t JW part of the TT coverage that needs sorting out. As he eluded in the interview he misses the WSB paddock & the travelling so it was obviously not his decision to walk away from that particular role. JW has also mentioned a while back he doesn’t know why he was dropped from the TT presenting team same as MR Parrish. It needs a guided tour of JW bike collection as a part 2 video. If you haven’t already just tap in macau Gp 92 never mind the Oulton park race just watch that. Foggy & Whit going at it on a couple of 500 Gp bikes. 😂❤

I recall an MCN article about three young lions who were about to emerge... All names I'd heard but wasn't too familiar with: Carl Fogarty, Terry Rymer and this guy.
Fogarty was (as I recall) slightly older, but they were all making waves. The target at that time was to get onto a 500cc GP bike and all seemed destined to have a good chance. I don't know what ever became of the other two, but this one was 110% entertainment. Never a dull race. Never less that everything. Chapeau!

Been following and watching Jim Whitham since his GSXR Durex days 😄 Superbike racing was truly amazing back then.. I was at Brands on my FZR1000EXUP in ‘99. The place was packed, and even the weather was hot! When it was time to leave, the 1000s of bikes plus hot weather caused the tarmac to melt in places.. Brilliant weekend

A most enjoyable interview. I got talking to him in the race office in 2019 at the classic tt, we was telling everyone how better looking he was than Carl Fogarty, absolutely hilarious. Definitely right about Carl getting the crowds in at wsb meetings. Thanks Danny.

A great hero of mine, Mr Whitham could beat anyone on a given day. Valentino was the same with qualifying, its as if he didn't want to risk all just for qualifying. Saved it for Sunday, then us spectators get the spectacle of watching a racer tear through the rest of the riders

Whits a great bloke. Had time for me when I was club racing and helped me out at donno many years ago..I recommend his book called "what a good do" good stories about modenas KR3. Nearly getting into a scrap at Oliver's mount and an unfortunate incident of a marshal picking up his exploded brake disc. To name a few🙂
