  • “Where are the horse and the rider….”
    Hey guys! Apologies its been a little longer than we’d have liked since we last uploaded but we’ve made some changes outside of RUclips which will mean uploads will be much more frequent, Huzzah!
    Today we’re continuing again with our Two Towers series of models and we show you how to paint the brave horselords from the Kingdom of Rohan who stood fast and defiant in Sarumans shadow and whom rode to war against the forces of Mordor to aid Minas Tirith.
    We use a colour palette which shows off the rich style and colours of their armour as well as our first horse tutorial towards the end of the video. Don’t worry, we’ll be exploring other horse schemes in later videos so they’re not all brown.
    This is a scheme that you can replicate over your entire Rohirrim army with subtle changes which will bring a degree of uniqueness to these horselords as they thunder across the battlefield in pursuit of their foes!
    Next week we’ll be exploring the absolutely beautiful new sculpt of Eomer Marshall of the Riddermark so be sure to tune in for that!
    Please like and subscribe to stay up to date with our content going forward and as always!
    Happy Hobbying!!

    Great tutorial, Im just getting into the hobby after playing when i was a kid. Found my old Rohan army and have attempted to repaint a rider this evening. My detail work is appalling, and i cant manage to get my edges to highlight without just clumping. Itll come with practice I hope!

    • @PlanetMithril
      @PlanetMithril  3 года назад +1

      Thank you kindly! It was just a small drill hole in the underside of the rider and attached to a paper clip for ease of painting

      @@PlanetMithril It will, got back into the hobby and been piecing together a Rohan and Mordor army (mostly second hand) and just now really getting up to steam painting all of it. Even though I can paint to a really good standard, these tutorials really help with colour choices and such.

    Good job! Is there a list of all the paints you used for these models? I'm not sure how to go about getting the paints because they seem very steep for just one pot! Any help would be appreciated

    • @filip8985
      @filip8985 2 года назад +1

      So the citadel paints are a tad more expensive than most modelling paints, however id say that for acrylics their quality is among the best. Also when it comes to miniature painting, if you thin your paints properly, a 12 ml pot will last a long time.
      If you dont want to drop so much on these specific paints you have a few options. You can just use a different brand of paint, such as the game color series from Vallejo, theres color conversion charts available to go between citadel and others.
      Other than that you can just get a few citadel paints and mix say white with green to get a lighter green for a highlight. But try not to mix paints from different brands, ive learnt that the hard way lol

      I havent got round to adding lists of paints for older tutorials, but something I shall definitely look into doing in the descriptions for everyone, thank you

    Hi is it castellan green you use in on the first mix of the cloak as I’ve followed your guide and it looks too brown and the green hue on your model looks like wargg flesh?

      The scabbard can be painted with either a dryad bark/gorthor highlight, or an abaddon black/stormvermin mix highlighted with stormvermin fur
