Years ago, my Pittsburgh dad saw jehovah's witnesses coming up the street, so he threw open the front door, yelled out "NO THANKS, WE'RE ALREADY SAVED!" and slammed it shut. I had no idea what that was all about as a kid, but I still crack up thinking about it now.
I invite them in. Heck there were two Mormons that came by, and I talked to THEM. A year later the one guy quit the church and gained 50 pounds. True story.

My Pittsburgh Grandpa once chased a Jehovah's Witness down the street on Christmas morning.

An old friend of my parents always used to ask Jehovah's Witnesses for their home addresses whenever they came knocking on his door.
They'd decline to answer, of course, and ask him why he would want to know such a thing.
He always told them, "It's so I can come bang on your door all day, leave stupid crap in your mailbox, bug the hell out of you, and see how YOU like it."
They stopped visiting him after that.
He always did the same thing whenever a telemarketer called his house.
He'd ask them for their home phone numbers, so he could "call them persistently, annoy the sh*t out of them during dinnertime, like they frequently did to him, and see how they liked it."

OMG! We did this sooooo many times with my Dad! This has got to be one of the best episodes yet (aside from Time Traveling to Hills)!
This had me cracking up. We’d jump on the couch to look out the window and crack up whenever they got any of the neighbors. Then we’d start ducking and giggling when they came to our door. Meanwhile, our mom would be yelling for us to be quiet and act like we weren’t home. 🤦🏽♀️😂
Literally just hid from them. I was in the kitchen cleaning and my door bell rang. I looked at the camera and went, oh hell no! Not today! 😂😂

This is my neighborhood when they come around, it's like a Western movie before a gunfight, or like the mob showed up. People just see them and start walking home, talking to each neighbor like "Go inside and pretend your not home for 30 minutes."
I was rewatching some old videos today and this is one of my favorites. 😆 Pittsburgh Dad is the best for laughter......especially when you're from "the Burgh". 😉

my dad used to do the same thing when they came around, tell us to stay away from windows, or go play in the basement, just like a tornado.

They caught my friend and me sitting on his porch after a round of golf. We told them they could stay if they would have a beer with us. That got rid of them. Quickly too.
JW's are allowed to drink...it is Mormons who cannot drink alcohol or coffee.
I'm a Jehovah's witness, and do I blame people for doing this? No. I can't be mad or even irritated, if I'm knocking I'm the one disturbing them. Though, the worst/best moments are when people get mad at me beside they think I'm Mormon. It's funny when I explain I'm not Mormon to people.
