      @@desordenpublico No prereqs are REQUIRED, but you 100% need a solid foundation in networking and security fundamentals at a MINIMUM before you take it on. It's an exam intended for people with like 2-4 years of hands on experience, so while it's entirely possible to start from 0 and study enough to pass the exam, your journey will be a bit easier if you start with the fundamentals.

      Hi I took the exam it was definitely a challenge I was not sure if I was going to fail or pass the entire time. Somethings to focus on are definitely scripting attack types, know the difference between python, ruby, etc. Make sure you are familiar with hands-on tools like dig, nmap, etc. If you watch this entire series, use TryHackMe Pentest+ path and/or udemy jason dions practice test only it will be enough to pass. @@marianopimentel9911

      Thought I responded it is not showing, but I ended up passing the test. Definitely helpful. Try to watch 30 mins - 1 hour a day. Then spend time using TryHackMe Pentest pathway and/or Jr Pentest pathway. I took Jason Dion's Udemy Pentest practice exams over the course of 2 weeks and one do one test a day. Then one spend a day or two reviewing all answers. Took all test twice then booked exam. @@marianopimentel9911

    i have nework+, security+ and looking to take the pentest+. what jobs can i get with the pentest+ entry-level?

    • @callersvoice9512
      @callersvoice9512 6 месяцев назад

      So, the caveat with cybersecurity is that entry-level cybersecurity roles are closer to mid level IT roles. That is to say, unless you get VERY lucky, you're not going to land a cybersecurity job with zero experience. The instances in which people do, it's as a cybersecurity Analyst triaging security alerts. Most folks tend to start in IT and then transition after a few years, though some start in software and/or web development, and then pivot into that side of cyber security.
      Pentest+ is meant for people with 2-4 years of hands on experience in the cybersecurity field. Pentesting and Red Teaming is not and will never be entry-level. Not what you want to hear, but it's the truth. Though having the Pentest+ may help get your foot in the door for an analyst role, most companies hiring for Cyber/SOC analysts are looking for the CySA+ which is the "sister certification" to pentest+ as it focuses on Defensive security where pentest is offensive.
      Good luck in your cyber journey!

    • @GerbyWorrior
      @GerbyWorrior 7 месяцев назад +1

      I completely disagree with the other persons advice here. A+ first. I have all comptia certs below pentest + taking pentest next. Go in the order that is set up by comptia. There is a lot of cross over and will be easier as you go through the certs. this is why they haved Stacked certs. So when you get your A+ and NEt + you will get a 3 cert that is a stacked cert. when you get sec+ you will get another stack cert of the trifecta. so on and so fourth. Same when you get the CYSA+ and Pen+. Good luck
