Mike, I was a detective and street cop for 32 years in Los Angeles. I did my job by this creedo, There is the letter of the law and the spirit of the law. To try and live by the letter of the law is impossible. I lived by the spirit of the law.

A lot of cops these days enforce "their feelings" and have no concept of what laws there are. Too many to be productive, but instead do so much harm and injustice to the average citizens they "swore" an oath to serve and protect. Just my opinion 😢😢😢

My uncle was Ed Davis chief police Los Angeles in the seventies and he always said there is a spirit of the law and there is also the letter of the law it is very important for any officer to understand when is needed to enforce the letter of the law and to enforce the spirit of the law there's a definite change you know and I see a lot of officers that get recorded that do let their feelings etc get the better of them we have gotten far too sensitive hypersensitive hand is doing a lot more damage than good and that's a sad thing cuz I've worked in the law enforcement areas not as a cop I've been security and I can tell you you have a fine line that you need to tote and any police officer that's really good at his job have absolute Total and complete respect for 🤠😎🤠

Spirit of the Law as you see it? The law is very clearly written in black and white ink! You either follow the Laws or you don't! You swore an oath to uphold the constitution ? But your thin blue line breaks the Oath! Shall not Infringe!!!!

Good morning! I enjoy watching you and a few other folks that sell firewood. Respect the fact that you know what seasoned wood is. Survived a widow maker heart attack last Friday had 2 guys bringing me firewood. Both were told I need 16" wood and both said it was seasoned wood. First guy brought seasoned wood but had to ask neighbors to cut it in half and split some of it by hand. The other guys wood is 16" mainly would have liked it to be split smaller. Delivered it about 8pm when neighbors carried it in for us even my wife could tell it wasn't seasoned, bark is still tight. My wife said I wish we lived closer to the Morgan's to get our wood from. Lol

A lot of people don’t know what seasoned wood is. I see them all the time say yes it was dead for a couple years when I cut it . Well that’s what you call dead wood. If you cut a tree when the sap is up and then split it and let it cure then you have seasoned wood that sap is like resons and shoots the btu up a lot. Another thing like Mike says is the red oak is so much better yes it is around here in Oklahoma that outher stuff he sells is junk wood. If you have a wood kitchen stove you can get a fire started and put a few pieces of black jack splitter in about 1 inch slithers and boy you can cook up some biscuits and gravy real good

Hi Mike from Durham City in England. Every winter I, alongside many thousands like me, place bird seed in the small feeder I placed by my front window, and watch as my many feathered friends gather round to help keep their strength up during these cold months. Truth be told, if I don't check to see if the feeder needs replenishing, the little guys are queuing up, standing on the bare bush, reminding me that they're hungry. You stay safe, as well as all the family.

We have a cabin in PA and you are correct about the 30 days before deer season starts. We feed deer during the winter to help supplement their diet. We use mineral blocks, they seem to eat that a bit slower and layout our corn. Of course, the mineral blocks costs more, but are healthier than just corn. Looking forward to seeing the work at the WV cabin.

Yet another one of your interesting videos, always look forward to your next one. Here in Saskatchewan Canada of course it's not corn country, but I've seen quite a number of people feeding deer nice green hay or alfalfa hay. Especially up north in lake country about ½ hour north of where we live. They really seem to go for that too, of course our winters are a lot longer and colder up here than yours. Because when you get 2 feet of snow and 25 - 35 degrees C. temperatures for a week at a time it really takes a toll on those poor little fellas, especially the older ones. May God bless you and your family.

I fed deer in NE Connecticut . Just don't stop till weather improves. We had 4ft of snow on the ground back around 2012, def not normal. I put out clover hay. The polked at it and ate but sadly the coyotes figured out what was going on so I had to stop. I plowed off my front lawn and spread corn. One evening we had 20 dear and idk how many turkeys. The turkeys we up in the choke cherry trees roosting and would wait for the corn. It was a tough winter.

Back in the early 60’s in PA when I was just a young lad, my uncle put me into a deer stand with my new 30-30. He then handed me a sack filled with apples and told me although it was illegal to bait deer during hunting season, there was nothing wrong with eating apples when in your deer stand and after you take a bite out of each apple, throw them as far as you can so they don’t make a mess under the tree. Old country logic, LOL

Mike, I haven't seen this mentioned, and I may be completely off base with this, but I have been told that the reason to not feed is CWD spread. Supposedly CWD is spread thru saliva and feeding in close proximity increases the chance for CWD spread.

How do you like the spypoint cameras? I have 13 of them. 3 Moultries and 1 Browning. Spypoint seems to be pretty good. I have 2 with separate solar panels and I haven't touched them in about a year. Now and then I get one that acts up.Also I found out that opening the spypoints battery latch take a knife blade against the case and latch and it pops right open. But that part of life. When they are out of warrenty and I have no further way to repair them they make a great targets. I'm getting up there in age so decided to get a Polaris Ranger Northstar with heat and air. Picking it up tomorrow. Central Illinois.

Hey Mike, I grew up in the north and in the winter's we used to feed the birds to help them make it through the winters. I sort of equate that to the same thing you're doing for the deer, when animals can't locate food due to excessive snow/ice/depth, then a helping hand helps them from expending energy foraging for food! You're also only doing it to help help them and keep the herd strong, so I'm not sure why people are so spun up on it. All the best, shout out to the Huntman! Thanks, Brian Prosper, TX

    • @slammedGP

The issue with deer is their digestive system changes in the winter to produce certain acids that allow them to digest twigs, buds, cedar etc that they wouldn’t eat in warmer seasons. When fed corn, this winter stomach acid can’t break it down. This can kill the deer, but this is more problematic in areas with very cold and long winters. So while seeming like a helpful thing to do for the deer, it can actually be detrimental. Up here where I am in Canada we don’t feed corn in the winter. More than one occasion here we’ve had local farmers find dead deer, seemingly healthy, but with a stomach full of undigested corn. I haven’t experienced this personally but with our long cold winters we don’t risk it. Where Mike is in PA I doubt this will affect the deer.

For what it's worth, my neighbor is a vegan lady who feeds deer year-round here in Virginia and our herd is very healthy. We see the same families of deer all year. They bring their new fawns around every summer. They do well.

Mike You should try Capsule feeder. I live in Texas where we can feed all year round including during deer season. I have (2) capsule feeders with 500 pound capacities each. They work great especially for our area. We have lots of wild pigs that are notorious for nocking over feeders. You should look them up! I believe they make them from 100, to 1000 pound capacity. They are a little pricey but well worth the money. Don't know if its legal to even have a broadcast feeder in your area, but just an idea.

Morning Morgan’s.been real cold here -22 F Tuesday morning,-5 F this morning here in southern Minnesota . No snow so ground will freeze deep this winter. Most of our water service lines are 6 feet deep and we don’t to worry about them freezing , but years like this with no snow for insulation it’s a possibility. Mike I have one of the spypoint cameras with the built in solar panel. It faces southwest. I have not put a battery in it for two years, and it’s out there year round. Here in Minnesota it’s illegal to feed the deer year round. We have issues with CWD and the DNR states that feeding them gathers them up in numbers. I got news for the DNR, they gather up anyway every night there are 15-20 deer eating in the soybean stubble behind our house.

Hey Mike, im going to try this again. Leaving a comment with my phone takes forever. I wrote one an hour ago. A very long one. My mother called just as i was finishing. I was on the phone with her for at least a half hour and i can't find my comment so i can finish.
Like you we had so many big acorns this year. Each morning my granddaughter and i would collect 2 buckets of the most beautiful, meaty, prime acorns and filled a 55 gallon barrel. When meating the school bus. I have two enormous oaks out front by the street. Ive never deer feeding on these, im guessing because of the traffic. Yet the grossly over populated grey squirls wiped out what we left. Out back between the deer and the squirls you have to look pretty hard to find an acorn now. If there are any left they ar buried under the snow. Every morning now we bring a couple of buckets filled out by the edge of the woods. There aren't so many deer left around here but the few that we have come and enjoy a nice breakfast. The joy on little Skylars face watching these doe is more enjoyable than i ever thought it would be. I hardley think im teaching her to bend the law to her favor. I haven't been hunting i many years now so im certainly not baiting them. Just like you... doing what i can to help. They are the most beautiful animals and i have so much respect for them. Now Skylar is learning that same respect. My wife and i have been raising our two grand children for almost 8 years when sky was 6 months old. I got a tick bite 5 years ago. I didn't get the shot in time and contracted Lyme disease. Somehow triggering a number of different illnesses leaving me disabled. So i don't get to do any of the stuff i always did. Once i found your channel it truly saved my life. I know you find that hard to believe but i am confined to a chair on oxegen in and out of hospitals. Watching these short videos every week honestly bring me back to that life i loved so much. I truly never stopped. Always building something cutting wood up in Maine, hunting fishing, snow mobiling. I did collision repair for almost 50 years. Had a very successful bodyshop which covid wiped out, along with me.
Thank you for bring a piece of your life and our many shared thoughts and beliefs into my living room. My son is very popular on social media, all platforms. His name is Danny Brevik aka big brev. Check him out. Following him is what got me on youtube. I also like Levi's Chanel. Ive gone on too long and you probably won't want to read this whole thing. Ill keep them shorter in the future. Again, thank you Dave Brevik Shrewsbury ma.

Hey Morgan’s! I’m up here in Mercer county surrounded by corn fields. The deer are in the cut corn fields daily getting the corn left behind from the combines. Don’t let the clowns fool you. Corn won’t kill the deer. Go out the Midwest where they have some of the biggest bucks and healthiest deer all that those deer eat in the winter is leftover corn and soybeans in the field’s. Hi Mike I just watched the last video on feeding the deer. I wouldn't worry about harming the deer, the small amount that you put out really helps them get through the winter. l'm from central Maine, and there is a place in Brownville, Maine that feed the deer all winter. They've been doing this for years, and yes its legal. They have a RUclips channel called (Brownvilles food pantry for deer). You should check it out, hundreds of deer visit this pantry. After seeing how much they feed the deer, you shouldn't have any worries. Love your videos, keep up the good work.

Whether you supplemental feed during the winter or plant food plots and leave standing soybeans or corn it helps the deer get through the stress period especially harsh winter weather. It certainly helps the does support development of unborn fawns and bucks recover from all the chasing during rut.

This guy wakes up looking forward to doing all this! I would hate my life if I had to do this almost every morning with my equipment. We had just 2.5 inches of snow here in Central GA Tuesday, 1st snow in 12yrs, the majority of ppl born and raised in these parts hated it. I couldn't imagine living somewhere like this where it's that common. It's so messy, then melts, and you have water everywhere. Thankfully, it's over here. Us southerners don't like 17° weather! It's been a hard winter here in the south, been 12yrs since one like this. But, highs in the mid-50s this weekend, so hopefully, this is coming to an end!

I don't know about Pennsylvania, but here in Florida my wife feeds the deer daily. Not a whole bunch at a time, maybe just a few pounds or so every evening in our back yard. We enjoy seeing not only the deer, but also the turkeys that come up near the house.

Mike: You talk about working on your shed. If you want there is a video "Sawing with Sandy", "Fun is Gone", that shows him working on his shed in a snowstorm in Ontario. He has about 3 feet of snow on the roofs, and it just keeps snowing on him. Just thought that you might like to see it. It will be nice to see what you decide for the shed. Windows would be neat, as long as you don't break them putting your equipment in. Take care and stay safe.

Most places that I have checked, it is illegal to do what is considered baiting the deer. That 30 days rule would be considered baiting. As for grain feeding deer, I live in a row crop area. When above ground grain crops are planted, all wildlife pre take to different extends. To my knowledge, none of the wildlife die from eating these crops. .

I also had Some MOPAR'S a 68 Dodge Charger, 71 Plymouth Roadrunner, 73 Dodge Demon and a few other MOPAR muscle cars. They're all worth their weight in Gold now, Wish now I would've never sold none of them to be Honest! But hind sight is 20/20.

Love your choice of music this morning. I don't disagree with feeding the deer either, I'd go one step further and put out a mineral block also. Depending on if they lick or nibble would be the deciding factor of using a block or loose salt. I like feeding the birds also, not a blue-jay fan. They seem to be the backyard bullies. I remember as a kid the DNR would fly in hay for the critters in the big parks, not sure if they still do.

Morning Mike and family, In my area, NWPA, the deer will tear up a harvested corn field looking for a morsel of food. Corn isn't the best thing for them, but they will eat what they find. Second minus 14 F here, when you put that minus sign in front of a number it doesn't matter cold is cold at the point.

Good morning Mike. I do believe that it's perfectly legal to feed the wildlife (deer) up until 30 days before deer season. And after deer season. There are Sportsman's clubs that give away bags of corn for just that reason and right down the road from me is a place to buy 50# bags of shelled corn for $11. The PGC has food plots all over our area here in North Central Pennsylvania. Although I do have a neighbor with a feeder that has a sign that says, "Squirrels and Chipmunks only". God bless and have a wonderful day.

Here in Canada - we had some maple syrup up on Marketplace and we had a visit by a food inspector because we didn't meet the labeling requirements. There are about 7 things that need to be on labels. No problem to get it updated, but we didn't even know there were rules/regs related to labeling Maple Syrup. Everything is almost set for this year and it wasn't even expensive to implement.

Amish builders in my area (north central Ohio) will work outside when it is 15 degrees or above. In 2015 I had a crew working at my place at this time of the year and it was much colder. They do have some creative ways to keep warm too, like making a heater out of a metal 5 gallon bucket and burning saw dust from their saws.
