This set is awesome. What really sold it for me is that it really transformed. Pretty good too. It’s sturdy, looks great, only thing that maybe coulda been better was articulation, especially at the knees but it would probably sacrifice stability so it’s a fair compromise. Made me want to get a transformer hahah. I love the mech Lego. Voltron actually can transform from mech to the tigers. I hope they make the megazoid. Or maybe Gundam wing or zeta, that would be awesome.
Totally agree! It is a fantastic 2-in-1 set, I still cannot believe that a TRANSFORMING Optimus Prime set exists, and looks so pitch-perfect for G1. I love that they paid deep attention to each mode, Truck Mode is phenomenal, great details throughout, Robot Mode is arguably better, with a good amount of articulation and the likeness is just SO SATISFYING!! I agree that Prime’s articulation could’ve been better legs-wise, but he also would’ve crumbled as he’s very heavy…… I have a storied history with Michael Bay Transformers toys, so this brings me bundles of nostalgia. If LEGO makes Power Rangers, it’ll be very likely, as they’ve already tackled Voltron: Defender of the Universe. If you’re curious, I also recently reviewed Bumblebee, which came out this year. Hoping to get Soundwave or Megatron next as a set!
