She actually hated him. They got into a fight over the Bohemian Rhapsody scene bc she made them headbang for 5 hours (“Why do we have to keep doing this?! People are going to laugh at head banging anyway!”) . You can tell how they wince and even have trouble turning their heads in other scenes. To be fair, Mike was under a lot of pressure. It was a $20 million dollar budget and he co-wrote it, so if it bombed his career would’ve been over. Also, his dad was dying at the time and passed away so after. Plus, she was the one who aired dirty laundry in the press. She hasn’t done too much after, so she might be the difficult one Wayne’s World 2 is behind only Wayne’s World and Blues Brothers in terms of success of SNL-based movies. Comedy sequels almost never makes tons of money...I can’t think of a single one that that ever came close to the original

I heard Mike Myers & Penelope Spheeris didn't get along with each other which was probably the reason why Penelope didn't direct the sequel.
