I just got to watch your livestream. Green dragon hostel sounds like a great place to stay. Thanks for the good cold-weather advice.. As always hike safe, stay worm and have fun my friend. 🦉
Great livestream guys! Full of trail info, stories, personal history, and entertainment. I laughed, I cried, I came for the updates, I stayed for the camaraderie. Good to see good folks having good fun out there on the trail while waiting to depart Amicalola. Heads up…it’s looking like we may be in for another Arctic Blast in about 2 weeks. Keep your 👀 peeled on WX reports.
Thank you for joining us and the positive feedback. The trail community is what the trail is all about. Love one another and cherish the moments as you never know what tomorrow might bring. Thanks again my friend. Let’s keep moving!
@ I’m seeing that first hand. I’ve been here 3 days waiting for my stars to align to get on trail and have befriended a local section hiker the past couple days who is a walking gear encyclopedia, local guide, and just all-around wonderful heart. She’s taking me to Mt. Oglethorpe tomorrow, the old southern terminus of the trail until 1958 for a little sightseeing and history. Fingers crossed Monday is Go Day. I have sooooo learned that you don’t plan this - the trail does your planning for you. Sláinte!
It was Bigfoot that got the dillo, lol Thanks for this live, the 10* difference is helpful, I’m always curious what bag I’ll need to stay warm and if I’d need spikes in the winter months. I also felt that “if I wait for other people, I’ll die having never done it”.
Mittens, yes! The main way I keep hydrated is that I never have food within reach. I make it so I have to stop and take off my pack, to eat, whether it's a meal or a snack. And this causes me to drink more as I'm hiking. Works for me. It was cool to see Alpha-gal there; I didn't expect that. Thanks for the video, been wondering if you'd found safety during this polar blast.

Appreciate ya!
That's what I call a trail video, congrats,in my opinion it's the people and experiences, the scenery is the backdrop ❤

Thank you for joining us! This is the best hostel I’ve stayed at. This place is super clean and the folks are very friendly.

Doubling up the quilts was the easiest way to stay warm at camp. It got SUPER cold downstairs!
Carry the little hand warmers .. put one in your water holder so your water does 🥶
The hand warmers are a life saver!

You will see more of Alpha-Gal in some upcoming videos. Stay tuned. Thanks for being a part of the adventure my friend!
VA diagnosed my Alpha Gal five years ago. It has since resolved so there is hope!
It would be horrible to never have a hamburger again! Glad you are feeling better!

HAHA! Can't wait tot share the video from this day!
How far in advance do you book at a hostel?
I try to look out a few weeks. Call them to find out your availability.
