      Very good point but in this case rafters are a meter to the plate no need.👍🏼

      Only really necessary on a shallow pitched roof, this method is fine for the pitch.

    Good video! If you those rafters were much longer - say 6m, how would you fix them to the wall wall plate? Just nail them as you've done there, jiffy hangers, another batten attached to the bottom of the wall plate and birds mouth over it? Thanks and I've subscribed!

    • @CML_Carpentry
      @CML_Carpentry  5 дней назад +2

      @@acidlumin hi mate thanks for your comment, Yh if the rafters where 6m long they’d be at least 8x2 so you would fix them the exact same only difference being is that your birds mouth would be bigger and the plumb cut may or may not be with a hanger detail but it all depends on what the structural engineer specs in most cases

    Oh dear , where is your roofing square ? Not that toy one you use . I wonder if you understand run of rafter ? Span ? I served 5 year apprenticeship . Only guy all my life that used it with my ready recknor ? Oh the days of learning seem long gone ? I see the industry getting worse ? We are aloud a radio on site here. And that square I use isn’t a toy it just fits in my pouch as has lots of handy features that’s why I use it.
