Here I’m cutting in a pair of rafters and getting a triple 9x2 ridge in. For 45 pitch roof keeping them over a crank steel.

Lovely work young man coukd i ask why u didnt take your measurements from top of rafter and arched your tape was it something to do with the ridge being so big ?

Nice work mate good to see a young lad at it. May i ask why your arching lines for the bottom bird? Surely if you’ve calculated it right all measurements will be taken from the top of the rafter regardless if its got a top bird or not? Just asking for a mate 😂🤪
Well because I had no fixed point to measure to I’m ark lining to get it so the line intersects with my height above plate line. Probs other ways to do it but this is how I’ve done it and it works. I don’t wanna change and confuse myself 😂😂
Hi @@CML_Carpentry, great work. I do think when setting out the rafters you should measure along the top edge and then plumb down to mark out the birdsmouth. I’d guess it’s not much out and on a long rafter it won’t show up much. Keep the videos coming. 🙌
Hi Dan, Yh I do it like that when I’m using you app. It’s only because this roof had 2 birds mouths one over ridge and one over wall plate. Once I had a pair of rafters cut then I got a measurement from plumb to plumb and used your square for ease 😉🫡

@@michaeljameswoodbridge9185hi mate the badger tool belt is a game changer had a single diamondback pouch and oxydental hammer holder but changed to two pouches and would 100% recommend. I’ll post a video soon of whats in my tool belt 👍🏼
