I don't get it, why would I want to send my troops out of my city?
If I keep them in my city, they will kill more bandits that attack, hence more points.
Where am I going wrong?

You'll get only a certain amount of points..your troops num doesn't count..but by reinforcing others..you can help them and gain more points😅

If you are being reinforced, your troops gain you no extra points being in your city, if you send out all your troops, you'll earn extra points for reinforcing ally cities. It's not rocket science.
