  • This is a San Francisco Airport International Arrival from Taiwan on China Airlines. We arrived in the evening time in December 2023. On this flight I arrived then processed immigration at SFO, went to baggage claim, then went over to the Domestic Terminal dropped off my luggage and prepared to board my flight to Phoenix Arizona on United Airlines. From The San Francisco International Terminal to the Domestic terminal 2.

I have to admit that SFO Int'l Airport is a top tier UA hub as a mega world class airport. Unlike LAX, O'Hare, and Newark, nah, they have some struggles.

@@VirtCamSFO is working on one of their runways now. It delayed my flight in and I almost missed my international flight out. I heard it’s been delaying many arrivals daily, it’ll be nice if they warned us about this.

Thanks for this! I'm quite anxious of new places and your video gives me a lot of confidence on my upcoming trip.
Wanted to ask though, how was the distance from the baggage carousel to the baggage drop for connecting flights? Wondering if I should get a cart, heard it is 8 dollars but your video shows that it is free.
    Thank you!

There is a bit of a walk depending on your ability to be mobile you may consider requesting assistance from one of the airport staff

@@VirtCam thank you! I am 4'11'' and worried about carrying and dragging my heavy check-in luggage to the drop off. I'll do as advised and request for help. Thank you!

Back on late October 2023, United Airlines began non-stop flights from San Francisco to two Asian destinations and vice versa. The two destinations served by UA from SFO as a hub are Taipei (TPE) and Manila (MNL). I'm Filipino, but my aunt who is also Filipino was recruited as a teacher in one school in San Mateo County, well in the county seat, Redwood City. If she comes back home in Manila, maybe she'll take a UA (instead of PAL) flight from SFO to MNL.

I want to see other US airports get direct flights to Manila using the New Manila International Airport. I expect Atlanta to be the furthest direct flight to and from Manila-NMIA. The Airbus A350 has the range capabilities to handle a direct Manila-Atlanta flight. If the Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok is allowed direct flights to the US, I would expect the furthest direct flight to and from Suvarnabhumi to be Washington-Dulles, also with an Airbus A350. I think there should be direct flights between major US cities and the Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Is 2:45hrs enough for a layover and check-in from Terminal 1 to 2?

Yes unless your flight becomes delayed

Yes I did because I changed airlines. But I am not sure if you will have to collect the baggage if you are staying on same airline.

@@VirtCam US policy says you still have to, even if the bags are being thru check, does not matter if you are transferring intl-domestic or intl- intl.
      Thanks, Congress
Other airports in Europe/ asia have a complete separate intl area, so when you do intl-intl transfers, you don't have to clear passport control and customs

Once NMIA opens, every UA hub should have direct flights to Manila. SFO, LAX, DEN, IAH, ORD, IAD, EWR.

    • @VirtCam

They probably will but how many years do we need to wait for that to happen

    • @EC4U2C_Studioz

@@VirtCam very likely 2027 for a partial opening of NMIA and it should be fully open by the end of the 2020s decade. Only when fully open is when the other UA hub airports should have direct Manila flights.
