I feel that Season 9 made a better Season 8 than Season 8 did - more unique presentations (Jason vs. Michael's victims), leaning into and parodying their own format (with the two obvious stomp matchups) having a same series, highly argued matchup as the finale, so far the most exclusive matchup theme (mythology) and having combatants from the very first season, including their very first combatant, make a reappearance
6:25 This is EXACTLY what I expected to see before they fought. When I saw the sneak peak picture with Deku mumbling to himself, I thought he was standing against a wall near the arena, trying to strategise, and I expected to then see Asta come by him and give some encouragements, looking forward to their imminent fight, with a reciprocal smile. Not only this didn't happen, but Asta NEVER smiled! Come on! And Deku smiled ONCE before dying! Ugh...
And asta was *SO* out of character at the end, having deku just die from overexerting himself would’ve made it far more of a sombre ending. But they HAD TO MAKE asta stab deku in the back with 3 swords. 1.5/10. And that’s me being *generous.*

I agree with your placement on Trunks vs Silver because he always wins in every battle Trunks is in. But then the unthinkable happened, Trunks loses for the first time and my boy Silver took the W.
Deku’s death is stupid in multiple ways. For one, Asta definitely would not have done what he did. While I don’t think he’d hesitate to kill when given the opportunity, he is definitely not the kind of guy to mutilate a corpse. And yes, he would’ve sensed Deku’s death via Ki. He would’ve absolutely done what you suggested he do. And two, since they said that Deku died believing he won, his death makes him out to be a complete moron. It’s not an honorable death, it’s insulting. And this is coming from a guy who doesn’t even like Deku all that much. I still rate Deku vs. Asta somewhere in the middle in my personal ranking, but my God, that ending was abysmal.
some notes on things in the video I liked and my own takes (long): "And one of them was AAAAAGH" sent me. Every Rap Battle reference was much appreciated. Rytchie's animation was fantastic. Each VA in this review killed their roles. Hearing Elsie Lovelock and Michael Kovach in this series after watching Murder Drones (big Glitch Productions fan here) was a personal treat, as was finally appreciating Lani as Vegeta and Scott as Trunks after finally watching DBZA. This season might've had my favourite list of music. Dragon Dance and Hedge of Tomorrow are my 2 favourites in the series, with Princes of Pride, Ego Death and Diabolical Invincible Me being my other standouts. I rank them with personal enjoyment having a stronger hold over well structured episodes comparing the positives and negatives. so I'd have the same top 4 (maybe swapped around), but I'd have Harley VS Jynx at 7, Jason VS Michael at 6 and Gogeta VS Vegito at 5. Hyped af for Bill Cipher in the season 10 review (and maybe Bill VS Discord solo review). And finally, both Omni-Man and Homelander have reportedly been leaked as playable in the new Mortal Kombat, if one of their exchanges is somehow... H: "get the fuck out of my country" N: I'm going to feed you your own heart" H: (laughs) shit, that was a great line. Or if Omni-Man somehow has a fatality that recreates how he killed Homelander, I would be so hyped I wouldn't be able to word it.
Thinking about their final clash, it would be better having Deku and Asta land in opposite sides of the arena. Asta tries to stand up but senses Deku has pushed himself too far. Looking across the area, he sees his opponent is now dead, but now with a broken arm and a smile on his face. Being claimed the winner, Asta manages to stand up by using his sword as crutch and manages to mutter, “Nice fight…. Detroit.” This was one way I’d like to do it, another inclusion would be Asta’s plan being more then just “Hit him, really hard.” Though I think it’d still be part of his plan.
2:42 On the topic of that, deku didn’t die at the beginning because of the sword it’s self, as it has less cutting power due to the width of the blade, being a Broadsword, known for their weight and low cutting power

Great review. Going over all the episodes well. It was also cool to see a list were Vegito vs Gogheta wasn't at the bottom. Also I just wanted to say that while Bob had some cool moments Magneto was definitely the MVP of this season. This guy had the best Marvel analysis in a LONG while, showing that a franchise that heavily used can still be interesting. Had one of the best arcs in any animation. Delivered the best death ever. The blood buzzsaws. Coupled with a great voice return from DBX. Avenged his children. And just KILLed it with his final line. I really don't think anyone else could be call the MVP of this season.
Stellar list as always. Don't know if it's too soon to call but Season 9 might just be my favorite season of all. I know I've said this before, but I would totally love it given these new formats if we could see how you would rank the episodes that went unranked in your earlier Death Battle Season reviews
I actually love Jason vs Michael and think the lack of the focus of them actually fits them perfectly when you actually think about what makes these two horrifying. What makes them scary isn't how effective they are as killers or their supernatural strength, but the fact they can show up out of nowhere. Even when you can't see them, you know you aren't safe as they could end up appearing when you least expect. So having them be off-screen for majority of the fight adds to that tension they are so known for.

As for someone who watches and reads black clover Asta was completely out of character for one he’s pretty smart combat wise, second when a villain he was fighting ended up died he put flowers and respect his opponent and he stopped one of guy from self destructing and the only people Asta doesn’t mind killing are the devils for obvious reasons, thirdly a RUclipsr named broku actually points out many flaws of the death battle and he does it in a respectful manner
They were doing pretty well portraying the personalities of the fighters throughout this season which kinda sucks when they decided to screw that over in exchange for an awesome beatdown. Don't get me wrong, I like an awesome battle but Asta's character fell way off. He's not some jerk who stabs a corpse. In my opinion, they should've made this match after both series have ended so that they can fight at their full potential. What do you think?
Alright RacoonBro, since you reviewed Season 9, I'm not only gonna review you, but also talk about my expectations of Season 10. Now the review was really well done. The editing, the comedy, to how much Death Battle means to you, its all great, and when I mean great, I mean "amazing" (that is a Sonic Colors reference by the way, since it means many things). I love the amount of references you put in here. In your top 50 stinker DB episodes, I like how you implemented the Mr Beast rap battle meme, and in the very top 50, I like Russian Badger Gamer Supps reference. Its weird how Badger is connected to RackaRacka and Steven He and many others because of an energy drink. In this one, I really like how you referenced ASDF, Stranger Things, and fucking Alan Becker for crying out loud, and yeah, when is the Stick Figure Battle Royale gonna come out. Now I was surprised on your placements of were each episode was ranked, but when you said you were unsure of your own ranking and backed that up, it does really show on how great Season 9 was, and that Season 10 may just be the successor not only Season 9, but Season 8 as well due to the upgrade of quality and it being Season 10 after all. Gotta keep those milestones in mind, people. Now for Season 10, its already getting a lot of hype, I wanna talk about two things; the first episode and the future matchups. Ant Man vs Atom has done something that is a real shocker the more you think about it. Its a Marvel vs DC, let me repeat, a MARVEL VS DC MATCHUP, the one category that seems to bring you back into the cellar almost all the time, also mentioning its a SEASON PREMIERE, is getting a lot of hype and people are actually excited about it. I'm also excited as well. Ant Man is one of my favorite comic book characters, and seeing him in Death Battle just makes me pumped. The teasers for both analysis is perfect, Boomstick telling Wiz to touch some grass is funny as hell, and in the teaser in Death Battle Cast just has me sold. And I can instantly tell that Therewolf is behind the music in that one because of my knowledge of him, who is capable of making the 007 theme into somewhat of a John Wick track, and turning Always Running into a Glitch Techs OST, has managed to somehow mix Legends of Tomorrow music with the same tone and notes as the Ant Man film and the Avengers. Now lets talk about the matchups. Besides the ones that have been already announced, I think its safe to say that Bowser vs Eggman and Ash vs Yugi is the most likely to happen, which even fits the symbols (personally, I want Tari vs Miko to be in this season, which I can see it fitting a few of the symbols and fits the theme of the show). I want to talk about something that I think no one hasn't even thought of or considered, and that is theming. Death Battle has this thing to keep things simple by introducing new series, along with introducing popular characters, and overall, not to make it feel like a mess. So I don't think there will be hordes of anime (that a majority that don't know about) and creepypasta or internet shenanigans. Now it can work for some, like on Twitter, Death Battle mentioned Slenderman vs Moth Man, and Animator Vs Animation, Meta Runner, Murder Drones, and Helluva Boss work very well and can be breather since the only two web series that we got are RWBY and Red Vs Blue. Overall, I'm excited when this episode airs on Monday, I wish I was a member, but I'm unemployed, and overall, you did a great job, RacoonBro, or should I say Nate, since he is the host of the show. Well, time to wait for another year to roll around for another review, and maybe get some more animation like the one at the end when Bill showed up. (Hey, uh, just so you know, this was my attempt at trying to replicate your review style, and since I'm a script writer, and I can definitely attempt at something like this, what do you think?)

I just feel like mentioning: Rewatching the scene of Thor firing his ultimate attack (forgot the name), he apparently didn't do any damage to the environment, because we didn't get to see it! If you look closely, the attack actually zoomed past the rocks instead of hitting them, showing how it missed. It may not have been very noticeable because of the flashing effects. Correct me if i'm wrong here.

The canon version of Trunks Vs Silver is actually surprisingly debatable. Super Silver has multiple reasonable scalings that put him around the level of Multiversal with even arguments for him having immeasurable speed. I don’t understand why having “obvious” outcome makes a match of bad, especially when it’s not even super obvious(unless you’re talking about the context of death battle) Hell, A lot of popular matchups are stomp matchups.
Probably because Archie silver and xeno trunks hadn’t been discussed to the same extent as their canon counterparts, leaving room for wondering who’d come out on top. Just a thought. Feel free to argue.

I was disappointed seeing the predator go up against Boba fett instead of an elite(Sangheili) or The Arbiter. Robbing halo of one of it's few good matchups left for halo and gave it to a character that already appeared twice and got a runback. That being said can't wait to see Grunt halo vs grunt madness combat.

Also I just wanted to say that while Bob had some cool moments Magneto was definitely the MVP of this season.
This guy had the best Marvel analysis in a LONG while, showing that a franchise that heavily used can still be interesting. Had one of the best arcs in any animation. Delivered the best death ever. The blood buzzsaws. Coupled with a great voice return from DBX. Avenged his children. And just KILLed it with his final line. I really don't think anyone else could be call the MVP of this season.
Stellar list as always. Don't know if it's too soon to call but Season 9 might just be my favorite season of all.
I know I've said this before, but I would totally love it given these new formats if we could see how you would rank the episodes that went unranked in your earlier Death Battle Season reviews
I actually love Jason vs Michael and think the lack of the focus of them actually fits them perfectly when you actually think about what makes these two horrifying. What makes them scary isn't how effective they are as killers or their supernatural strength, but the fact they can show up out of nowhere. Even when you can't see them, you know you aren't safe as they could end up appearing when you least expect. So having them be off-screen for majority of the fight adds to that tension they are so known for.

As for someone who watches and reads black clover Asta was completely out of character for one he’s pretty smart combat wise, second when a villain he was fighting ended up died he put flowers and respect his opponent and he stopped one of guy from self destructing and the only people Asta doesn’t mind killing are the devils for obvious reasons, thirdly a RUclipsr named broku actually points out many flaws of the death battle and he does it in a respectful manner
They were doing pretty well portraying the personalities of the fighters throughout this season which kinda sucks when they decided to screw that over in exchange for an awesome beatdown. Don't get me wrong, I like an awesome battle but Asta's character fell way off. He's not some jerk who stabs a corpse. In my opinion, they should've made this match after both series have ended so that they can fight at their full potential. What do you think?

Alright RacoonBro, since you reviewed Season 9, I'm not only gonna review you, but also talk about my expectations of Season 10.
Now the review was really well done. The editing, the comedy, to how much Death Battle means to you, its all great, and when I mean great, I mean "amazing" (that is a Sonic Colors reference by the way, since it means many things). I love the amount of references you put in here. In your top 50 stinker DB episodes, I like how you implemented the Mr Beast rap battle meme, and in the very top 50, I like Russian Badger Gamer Supps reference. Its weird how Badger is connected to RackaRacka and Steven He and many others because of an energy drink.
In this one, I really like how you referenced ASDF, Stranger Things, and fucking Alan Becker for crying out loud, and yeah, when is the Stick Figure Battle Royale gonna come out. Now I was surprised on your placements of were each episode was ranked, but when you said you were unsure of your own ranking and backed that up, it does really show on how great Season 9 was, and that Season 10 may just be the successor not only Season 9, but Season 8 as well due to the upgrade of quality and it being Season 10 after all. Gotta keep those milestones in mind, people.
Now for Season 10, its already getting a lot of hype, I wanna talk about two things; the first episode and the future matchups. Ant Man vs Atom has done something that is a real shocker the more you think about it. Its a Marvel vs DC, let me repeat, a MARVEL VS DC MATCHUP, the one category that seems to bring you back into the cellar almost all the time, also mentioning its a SEASON PREMIERE, is getting a lot of hype and people are actually excited about it.
I'm also excited as well. Ant Man is one of my favorite comic book characters, and seeing him in Death Battle just makes me pumped. The teasers for both analysis is perfect, Boomstick telling Wiz to touch some grass is funny as hell, and in the teaser in Death Battle Cast just has me sold. And I can instantly tell that Therewolf is behind the music in that one because of my knowledge of him, who is capable of making the 007 theme into somewhat of a John Wick track, and turning Always Running into a Glitch Techs OST, has managed to somehow mix Legends of Tomorrow music with the same tone and notes as the Ant Man film and the Avengers.
Now lets talk about the matchups. Besides the ones that have been already announced, I think its safe to say that Bowser vs Eggman and Ash vs Yugi is the most likely to happen, which even fits the symbols (personally, I want Tari vs Miko to be in this season, which I can see it fitting a few of the symbols and fits the theme of the show).
I want to talk about something that I think no one hasn't even thought of or considered, and that is theming. Death Battle has this thing to keep things simple by introducing new series, along with introducing popular characters, and overall, not to make it feel like a mess. So I don't think there will be hordes of anime (that a majority that don't know about) and creepypasta or internet shenanigans. Now it can work for some, like on Twitter, Death Battle mentioned Slenderman vs Moth Man, and Animator Vs Animation, Meta Runner, Murder Drones, and Helluva Boss work very well and can be breather since the only two web series that we got are RWBY and Red Vs Blue.
Overall, I'm excited when this episode airs on Monday, I wish I was a member, but I'm unemployed, and overall, you did a great job, RacoonBro, or should I say Nate, since he is the host of the show. Well, time to wait for another year to roll around for another review, and maybe get some more animation like the one at the end when Bill showed up.

I just feel like mentioning: Rewatching the scene of Thor firing his ultimate attack (forgot the name), he apparently didn't do any damage to the environment, because we didn't get to see it! If you look closely, the attack actually zoomed past the rocks instead of hitting them, showing how it missed. It may not have been very noticeable because of the flashing effects. Correct me if i'm wrong here.

The canon version of Trunks Vs Silver is actually surprisingly debatable. Super Silver has multiple reasonable scalings that put him around the level of Multiversal with even arguments for him having immeasurable speed. I don’t understand why having “obvious” outcome makes a match of bad, especially when it’s not even super obvious(unless you’re talking about the context of death battle) Hell, A lot of popular matchups are stomp matchups.
Probably because Archie silver and xeno trunks hadn’t been discussed to the same extent as their canon counterparts, leaving room for wondering who’d come out on top. Just a thought. Feel free to argue.

I was disappointed seeing the predator go up against Boba fett instead of an elite(Sangheili) or The Arbiter. Robbing halo of one of it's few good matchups left for halo and gave it to a character that already appeared twice and got a runback.
