game of thrones video games of thrones video about video games of thrones games 🤯 thanks 4 watching glimbus this year :) see you in january edit: i'm being accused of face revealing in this video. too many of you didn't watch the QANDA, i guess. i'm not mad, i'm just disappointed. (ruclips.net/video/Ees8BydWuxA/видео.html)
Can’t wait to see you in the new year! Like the format? of this video. You are very handsome sir. The transition to the slots game with the long sigh broke me
What if: a management game, where you play as GRRM trying to write the Winds, but there's constantly more and more stuff distracting you. You have to allocate attention points to various tasks, one of them being WOW writing, but there's more and more tasks, and old tasks only spawn the new ones on completion. And also you watch football, and whenever your favourite teams lose, you fall into despair and your attention points just disappear. And there's a regular pandemic event, which is actually beneficial, because it pauses most of your extra tasks. And there's a typing minigame where you have to type by selecting letters with a mouse, to emulate GRRM typing with one finger. Also, the game should be crazy hard so that nobody can reasonably produce more than 50 pages before the timer runs out.
I did strike a joke from the script about GRRM simulator where you're writing Winds but every time you write 100 words, 99 words get randomly deleted from the manuscript. the only way around this is to publish a blog post about the Jets - this gives you 300 free words that will never be deleted. out now only for DOS-2 machines
Fuckin face reveal let's go!!!!! Not exactly what I was picturing, but a handsome young lad none the less! Much love to GlimbyBoy! Happy holidays to you and your "partner" 😉 alt schwifty! Take care brush your hair! Edit: and the Glimbus hair...how glorious! It's flows so beautifully! Would love to run my fingers through it 😉
@@mikemorrison634 well his face has always been out there because he's in a band, also he did a q&a video where he was just sitting in the sun answering questions.
@@Morfe02 well obviously I think like bg3 they’d fast track travelling, also it would depend on where the game took place in planetos and how many places do you travel to, like tbh I don’t want bg3 with the plot of game of thrones, I would want a original story in the world of ice and fire
It's honestly expected at this point. Fan devs who just want to earnestly hold a candle to the source material they love and don't expect to ever get any profit from their work consistently make many of the best gaming experiences.
One of the rare mods that actually supplants the purpose of the game and does it better. CXk2 AGOT, and likely soon CK3 AGOT literally work better for the Crusader Kings shtick than actual history does. Simply because the relationships between characters at distance, namely Westeros vs. Medieval Europe makes more sense when everyone is the same culture, is not insular, and is participating in a continent-wide government. In truth, base Crusader Kings makes little sense when you engage in diplomacy with more distant powers, save for the crusades to a very limited extent. But in AGOT? When everyone is just a raven call away? When Ser Shuttlecock from the Crownlands could easily turn up at the castle of Lord Brindleberries along the Mander for a tournament? That makes complete sense if the Lord of the Brindles is shelling out for it! They speak the same language, pretend to worship the same gods, call the same alcoholic war machine or grapist as their King. Meanwhile, some random petty german lord is NOT going to Southern Italy for a tournament.
@@gabrielperez-ze9tk Someone made a Long Night sub-mod & I love it. It's extremely effective to see entire northern bloodlines with the fate "ripped limb from limb" as the Others descend south.
The best lotr games are probably the mods for medieval total war 2. Its not that weird, a modding team wants to make the best possible experience for the fans and professional developers want to maximise profits
An Assassin‘s Creed ASOIAF game would actually make so much sense. The concept of the Animus being a machine that lets you access and relive the memories of your ancestors sounds so similar to weirwood magic, that you could even have a modern day plot of some green seer entering the weirwood net to find the answer to some mystery by reliving the memories of their ancestors.
i don't think i've ever seen anyone suggest this but AC: Braavos where you play as a Faceless Man (a *rogue* Faceless Man? that'd be weird) through the framing device of a greenseer apprentice to CotF or whatever would honestly be the coolest shit ever. Braavos is already the most epic place ever invented and then to imagine freerunning through it, getting caught up in intricate political schemes, steamy romances, and religious ritual assassinations, all while the protagonist comes to term with or fights against their own lack of identity, like come the fuck on man. it's almost as good a match as crusader kings is, and action-adventure games like AC tend to be more broadly appealing anyway.

I think this was a good video, but I really can't be sure because I spent the whole time staring at the totodile spinning on the rhydon in the corner. I have to assume it was good, because why would a bad video have that
Personal anecdote - the ck2 game of thrones mod is so immersive and interesting that it was actually the thing that got me into the series. "5 books and 5 seasons of this ck2 mod? Hell yeah! And the next book & season are coming out soon so we'll get a new bookmark to play around with, how cool is that!"
I did advertisements for Conquest. The one where you customize your dragon. It took over six months to get paid. A real low point. I hope none of the ads survived.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance has a perfect formula and execution of a linear story set in the visceral life of medieval time, and is a lot like the idea you proposed for a game. While playing it all I could think of is how good of a foundation it has for telling a story set in ASOIAFverse. The protagonist story is a lot like Dunk's story of rising as a knight by merit and loyalty.
As an aspiring writer I hope that one day my work can be bastardised by capitalist pigs into endless skinner boxes within skinner boxes, extracting the precious time and money of my hard-earned fans for cynical profit.

Fun fact there is a timeline where paradox interactive makes a game of thrones game in the early 2000’s as the CEO is a fan of the book series and had a actual discussion with George of making a licensed game before the TV show became a thing.
CK2 AGOT mod is actually what got me into the whole thing. I booted it up and got overwhelmed with the amount of people and places. After one too many "Who the fuck are you?" I genuinely love the style of a Glidus video. Very few creators in this space can be recognized based off the look of their video alone. Glidus and Shifty have mastered their "look", much like a band masters their sound. I can tell a video is made by Glidus with it on mute the same way I can tell a song is by Pantera or Tool based solely on the drums. I love it. Bravo, Glidus.
@@wolfe6819yeah. It is a diff style. But I put the comment bc I was literally watching HOTD BlissTake when the notification dropped. And it was on my mind while watching that video.

You know me and my girlfriend were talking about what kind of video games we want I said Game Of Thrones game but after I went into detail she pointed out that the game I’d make would coast the entire annual US Defense budget and cause every pc and console to melt
The A Game of Thrones Board Game is an amazing game to play with 4+ friends. Highly recommend checking it out if you want the best playable ASOIAF experience. It's not a beginner board game, it will take you an hour to teach everyone the rules and another 5hrs to play the game; but it is the most fun I have had with any board game.
i like how you can tell that youre not actually seeing Glidus in this video and that he is, in fact, projecting his image directly into your brain with through his voice.
If the main characters of ASOIAF were Rennifer Longwaters and Daenerys Targaryen, it could reasonably be called dungeons and dragons (awesome video as always Glimbus, it’s nice to now be able to have an opinion on a future video game)
At 10:29 we can see that one of the players is named Teressa Lothston, which implies a member of the extinct House Lothston of Harrenhal has come out of hiding to play some slot machines
Give me a game set before Aegon's Conquest. There's little and less written of the Targaryens post Doom pre Conquest, so you can make it about so many things without clashing with the main story. Let me ride a dragon all across the Seven Kingdoms!
I think another reason that mods can flourish creatively and passionately is because they are “free” to make. This isn’t to discount the many real hours that were put into these amazing mods, but they don’t have budgets or deadlines. No one’s job is on the line because of delays or going over budget. That means creators can put more time into planning or pivoting, and you won’t get something like Concord where it took forever and cost hundreds of millions. If I buy a game from a studio, I expect a certain level of polish because they likely invested a lot of money. If I download a mod, I’m going to be a lot more forgiving because it’s free and also because I’m not gonna complain about something other people are making in their spare time. One is a product that I expect to work, and the other is a project I’m allowed to use. Mods can essentially be their own games or expansions in their own right, but the expectations I have from both varies a lot.
2 ½ cups warm water(600 mL) 1 teaspoon sugar 2 teaspoons active dry yeast 7 cups all-purpose flour(875 g), plus more for dusting 6 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, plus more for greasing 1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt ¼ cup semolina flour(30 g)
@@qjames0077 “Bloom” the yeast by sprinkling the sugar and yeast in the warm water. Let sit for 10 minutes, until bubbles form on the surface. In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the middle and add the olive oil and bloomed yeast mixture. Using a spoon, mix until a shaggy dough begins to form. Once the flour is mostly hydrated, turn the dough out onto a clean work surface and knead for 10-15 minutes. The dough should be soft, smooth, and bouncy. Form the dough into a taut round. Grease a clean, large bowl with olive oil and place the dough inside, turning to coat with the oil. Cover with plastic wrap. Let rise for at least an hour, or up to 24 hours. Punch down the dough and turn it out onto a lightly floured work surface. Knead for another minute or so, then cut into 4 equal portions and shape into rounds. Lightly flour the dough, then cover with a kitchen towel and let rest for another 30 minutes to an hour while you prepare the sauce and any other ingredients. Preheat the oven as high as your oven will allow, between 450-500˚F (230-260˚C). Place a pizza stone, heavy baking sheet (turn upside down so the surface is flat), or cast iron skillet in the oven. Meanwhile, make the tomato sauce: Add the salt to the can of tomatoes and puree with an immersion blender, or transfer to a blender or food processor, and puree until smooth. Once the dough has rested, take a portion and start by poking the surface with your fingertips, until bubbles form and do not deflate. Then, stretch and press the dough into a thin round. Make it thinner than you think it should be, as it will slightly shrink and puff up during baking. Sprinkle semolina onto an upside down baking sheet and place the stretched crust onto it. Mount and Blade, let's GOOO!!! The hours i have spend in warbands'(the previous game in the series) modded scene are too many! Also the multiplayer battles with those basic inputs are still the best experiences off my life!!!
i can imagine a fantastic game of thrones themed hollownight-esque game, where you are exploring winterfell after its been burned, to try and grab stuff out of it, and the harder sections are delving into the winterfell crypts, and maybe breaking into the lower sections. tower defense at the wall would also be great. you start fending off kinda nothing, then wildings, then wights, then white walkers. jaherys era transport simulator, where you need to pick and maintain roads and ships and dragons to get the best logistics setup for the 7 kingdoms valyrian freehold dragon racing game. theres loads of great game ideas
This isn’t a Video game but The Sword, the Crown, and the Unspeakable Power is a really good Ice & Fire inspired TTRPG that is REALLY easy to skin in Westeros and tell interesting stories. The game I played in lived in a Divergent World where Aeria lived and Rhaena pressed her claim so we were in a 3way civil war of Rhaena v Joe v Baratheons throwing their hats in. But on the large scale politicking and personal allegiances complicating one’s own honour and relationships, the system really allows for a roleplay-heavy table to explore to complex themes of Ice and Fire. And the magic works really nicely to reflect GRRM’s “sword without a hilt” extension of the world.
The CK2 AGOT mod is the one-and-only ck2 mod I play and sink time in. It feels just like Crusader Kings II AND an official videogame adaption of A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE at the very same time. Something no other mods for any other videogame ever have or ever will make me feel
who is this beautiful australian guy lip syncing your voice over? i didnt watch the q&a. edit: just watched the q&a. who is this beautiful australian guy lip syncing your voice over?
I was waiting in my car and decided to play Tale of Crows, the music from the bass speakers and the ambience of Tale of Crows beats every other game by far. Sucks that there isnt any more, although Im still discovering more paths of choices.
Glidus if you want to play an actually good Game of Thrones game (that isn't a Game of Thrones Game but captures the spirit of the books, particularly the court intrigue and backstabbing well) play the Guild II Renaissance. You can work your way up the social and political ladder slowly like a good boi and just be super nice and honorable to everyone you meet... or you can be a ruthless sociopath like me that uses the political immunity conferred by having half my family in control of the top positions on the council to assassinate members of rival dynasties without consequence and blackmail, bribe, or duel the mindless peons that support my rise to power under the express knowledge that the same fate will befall them if they ever step out of line. Or you can just be a Necromancer and give people potions that shorten their lifespans for lols... the options are pretty endless, really.
I think it’s also worth pointing out that both the CK games perfectly mix the the sandbox strategy with good writing for role playing, especially with the pre scripted story characters. I love playing as Queen Rhaenys with book accurate hair and Robb but this time he makes good decisions
I played the Game of Thrones Ascent game for a while on Facebook. It was interesting how you could choose to be a lord serving under one of the 5 or 6 main houses. You'd have some story and than have to choose from 3 dialogue options that would increase stats (Old Gods vs New Gods is the one I remember most). Then you'd have to sent one of your agents out to do a quest and wait for the timer. Every week there were sales for items or gems or whatever. I think you could also re-encarnate and start the story again, but I never did. I remember there was an achievement for slapping Joffrey a few times but it never worked for me. I was playing it when the show was airing and they'd usually tie something in to what was going on in the show. There were also these huge raid events where many whales - err, high-level players would swoop in and kill everything in a few minutes.
An open world game of thrones game where ur just a simple hedge knight making it up in the world would be amazing. And your choices and allegiances dictate your future in other allegiances.
Crusaider Kings 2's Game of Thrones mod was exactly what introduced me to Paradox global strategy games. I was just googling some Westeros map to check some locations I was reading abou, saw the game map and was on the hook from the get go. And now I have hundreds hours in CK2, EU4, Victoria 2/3, regardless of the mod. Sadly, people say they fcked up Star Trek themed Stellaris reskin, so maybe it is good they don't get rights for ASOIAF/GOT.
I played the shit out of Game of Thrones Ascent. It stole many hours and sizeable chunk of change from me but I did love it. It wasn’t much of game, you built a town, sent your troops on sorties, got cool weapons, raised dragons etc. what I really loved about was the devs seemed to be real ice and fire fans. You could craft dark sister and Brandon’s Bloody Blade and they just seemed to mine the backstory for cool Easter eggs you could add to your inventory. It was definitely a cash grab but I kinda miss it
I had a guy I worked with who was young boomer age and he had a "I drink and know things" shirt and played the Game of Thrones casino game daily. He never saw the show, and obviously never read the books. He didnt even know the name of the char who said the shirt quote
I was obsessed with Ascent. Pure facebook game slop. Everything was done through timers. Your own character was a lord of a holding, and there was a story involving low level politics with your neighboring lords. The show's plot was implemented through the use of new POV characters who are either related to your character or working for him. You actually got to choose which great house you support at the start of the game, which altered how the show plot is told to you.
GRRM helping write the Cyanide game is a great reminder that even before 2010 he would rather do anything besides actually sit and write those damn books.

The fact you guys aren’t going to finish the game is heartbreaking but I get it with your styles and also how the game ends
Yeah, like when his face merged into just the top half twice, I was like, "this guy is living rent-free in my head when I watch stuff about GoT."
Reign: Game of Thrones is pretty fun and some of the characters endings have interesting Lore.
Death Stranding but in the ASOIAF universe. Call it Kingsroad.
But a lot more survival elements, and Imagine beyond the wall would play the same as Death Stranding with the supernatural stuff.
Ah, a Glimbus face reveal. Now I just need to see Schwifto, and I'll have a face to put to the voices constantly screaming in my head about dragons.
If the main characters of ASOIAF were Rennifer Longwaters and Daenerys Targaryen, it could reasonably be called dungeons and dragons
(awesome video as always Glimbus, it’s nice to now be able to have an opinion on a future video game)
My mother likes to play the Game of Thrones slots game. Shes never ever watched the show or read the books she just likes slots.
GAMBLING is coming
2 ½ cups warm water(600 mL)
1 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
7 cups all-purpose flour(875 g), plus more for dusting
6 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, plus more for greasing
1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt
¼ cup semolina flour(30 g)
What is this
@@qjames0077 “Bloom” the yeast by sprinkling the sugar and yeast in the warm water.
Add the sauce and ingredients of your choice.
Slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or pan. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the crust and cheese are golden brown.
Add any garnish of your preference.

PopCap introducing Bejeweled to the grandmas was like Reagan introducing crack to the inner cities.
I like how you say wink but then you widen your eyes to ensure your eyelids aren't remotely closed. Great way to visually sell the sarcasm about streaming anything.
Well, as a Materia-Enjoyer i always knew Globcos face. At least from 4 could tell when one of them like thinking at least one of those four is probably glimbo maybe i guess.
cant watch this video with glimb staring like that, i blush and avert my eyes to the instagram machine
👁
I will never stop asking you to finish Telltale’s Game of Thrones with Schwifty.
They should take a page from Berserk game adaptations and do a Game of Thrones Musou game.
I have been a fan forever, but knowing you at some point watched RLCS content and have also spent a ginormous amount of time playing Hollow Knight has made my heart smile. GRRM bless you, Glidus.
Balatro mentioned, 10/10 video
Mount and Blade, let's GOOO!!! The hours i have spend in warbands'(the previous game in the series) modded scene are too many! Also the multiplayer battles with those basic inputs are still the best experiences off my life!!!
telltale game of thrones is so fanfiction-esque and i mean that as the highest compliment i love playing as y/n stark- i mean forrester
i can imagine a fantastic game of thrones themed hollownight-esque game, where you are exploring winterfell after its been burned, to try and grab stuff out of it, and the harder sections are delving into the winterfell crypts, and maybe breaking into the lower sections.
tower defense at the wall would also be great. you start fending off kinda nothing, then wildings, then wights, then white walkers.
jaherys era transport simulator, where you need to pick and maintain roads and ships and dragons to get the best logistics setup for the 7 kingdoms
valyrian freehold dragon racing game.
theres loads of great game ideas
Welcome to the game dungeon!
I just wanna live long enough to see obscure places like the Basilisk Isles in a game cuz I know we'll never touch that in the main series
Gligar's face sends me into Goblin Mode, and I refuse to elaborate on what that means.
I was not expecting lord glimbo to have such luscious locks! All hail glimbus
I’m glad you look as friendly and chill as I had imagined
The CK2 AGOT mod is the one-and-only ck2 mod I play and sink time in. It feels just like Crusader Kings II AND an official videogame adaption of A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE at the very same time. Something no other mods for any other videogame ever have or ever will make me feel
Glimbus came early this year!
I heart that voice for hundreds of hours, but that face reveal hit me harder than expected, since I didn't expect it it all :'D
who is this beautiful australian guy lip syncing your voice over? i didnt watch the q&a.
edit: just watched the q&a. who is this beautiful australian guy lip syncing your voice over?
Sees they’re making GOT game: “Oh cool”
Sees platform: “Nevermind”
Dude you GOTTA finish the Telltale game playthrough, ideally with Schwifty but if not that’s fine
Asoiaf is like a White Walker cut into pieces for making new IPs 😂
How about a game that’s essentially a cozy cooking game where you have to find as many ways to cook and prepare the winds of winter as possible.
I was waiting in my car and decided to play Tale of Crows, the music from the bass speakers and the ambience of Tale of Crows beats every other game by far. Sucks that there isnt any more, although Im still discovering more paths of choices.
Hope god damn balls!!!! My boy glidus is bringing up my favourite game bannerlord!!! This is the best day
I knew Glimbus would be talking about this as soon as I saw the trailer at the Game Awards
The only thing this video needed was a Paradox sponsorship at the end
I think it’s also worth pointing out that both the CK games perfectly mix the the sandbox strategy with good writing for role playing, especially with the pre scripted story characters. I love playing as Queen Rhaenys with book accurate hair and Robb but this time he makes good decisions
Alternate title:
hglombergus: CK2 Game Of Thrones Mod Is Genius, And Here's Why.
I finally have a face to attach some of the world's best wheezing laughter to
Crusaider Kings 2's Game of Thrones mod was exactly what introduced me to Paradox global strategy games.
It was definitely a cash grab but I kinda miss it
A Game of Thrones Genesis is literally on Steam - pretty sure Glidus just wants an excuse to not touch it with a ten foot pole
It’s not purchasable in my region, and it didn’t occur to me that it could be region-locked because why the fuck would it be region-locked
I played game of thrones ascent and as someone who was too young to watch or read the actual series I found it delightful
3:19 this caught me so off guard.
I am absolutely shooketh that this slop I've been getting ads for is actually officially licensed, but learning it is only through HBO explains a lot.
The ck2 and Ck3 Mods go so fucking hard! Such talented people producing that
GRRM helping write the Cyanide game is a great reminder that even before 2010 he would rather do anything besides actually sit and write those damn books.
Glimbo out here making me feel like i left his face on screen too long and burnt it into a plasma tv
