Trains at: Milton Keynes Central, WCML, 04/05/16

- An excellent morning spent at Milton Keynes Central on the West Coast Mainline where we see plenty of services from Virgin Trains, London Midland, Southern and various freight from Freightliner.
I really enjoy my time here, I had only filmed here once before and I can certainly say that I wasn't disappointed, excellent variety in passing and stopping traffic and I had the weather on my side which was an added bonus. I will be coming back here later in the year as part of my WCML series.
I was supposed to film at Chester today but due to Virgin Trains cancelling their direct services to Chester from Milton Keynes for the next couple of days but I couldn't find out why so I didn't want to chance anything incase there were some emergency engineering works taking place that meant I couldn't have returned so I went to the next best place. Chester is still on the cards but it's going to have to wait for a while. My next 4 stations are Winslow, Stockport, Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Oxford Road.

Nice video, Birmingham New Street is a major destination for Virgin Trains coming from Euston, Glasgow and Edinburgh :)

Absolutely brilliant video mate. One thing I noticed is how people don't seem to understand that 'stand back from the platform edge' means stand back from the platform edge as I noticed a couple people beyond the yellow line just before trains went through. Nevertheless, great video and I look forward to your footage of the Manchester branch of the WCML. 😊

Very great video and don't worry if the Virgin Trains is back on schedule from London Euston to Chester then please take the Virgin Trains Pendolino or Super Voyager journey from either London Euston to Chester,Milton Keynes Central to Chester or Crewe to Chester and next time please film at Chester as well if it's still on schedule thank you.
My next journey is going to be on board a Virgin Trains 221 Super voyager from Milton Keynes Central to Crewe

mrposh12 3 if she comes through early in the morning then yes I will
the 221 DMU Voyager sets do the wales services to Chester/Holyhead/Wrexham/Wales services as there are no OHL past Crewe. They run hourly to/from chester with a daily return trip to Shrewsbury/Wrexham and a couple of trips to Holyhead daily. They also run the Blackpool North to Euston daily return trip as at present Preston to Blackpool North isn't Electrified.

one train an hour to/from Liverpool L St via Runcorn and Crewe....
Some people honestly hurt my brain when they stand that close
like don't they realise how little they're and how big it is and how fast it is 😕 at that speed it is so easy to be sucked in its not like they have notices for nothing

Was the 390 from London euston to Edinburgh via Birmingham new street calling at oxenholme Lake District or Penrith for the north lakes ?

It is, I have no idea why I said it was an 86
One thing I never understood: why do Class 221s always run as diesel units, even when their route is electrified throughout? I mean, 221s are bi-mode trains, they can operate as EMUs and they have a pantograph fitted on them; why are these pantographs never used?

221 Super Voyagers are DMU's , they aren't Bi-Mode trains like the 800's
You can ask as many questions as you like I really don't mind
i went to warrington bank quay yesterday and kt was great ypu should go there

What stations on the south ECML would you recommend please
depends on what your definition of south is, do you mean past Peterborough?
My tablet is not going to be zoomed in unless if you can't see stuff
This was the standard camera settings used for when the video was being filmed on this tablet. Other ones that I've used in the past didn't have an automatic zoom function. So the tablet I'm currently using gives much better quality than the one used to film here

It's alright, there's a good variety of traffic there but you have to sign in before filming
Been watching your videos with my son (4) over the past few weeks, he thinks you are a superstar. We've decided to request Derby if you've not been there yet. Easy to get to, very busy, decent mix of traction and the huge Etches Park depot just south of the station. Any plans to visit?
