Drove semi for 17 yrs and really miss it. But every time I watch these videos, I'm so glad I'm not out there anymore. Way too many idiots on the loose. That also includes all the steering wheel holders weighing #80,000.
One thing I do miss about growing up in SW Florida was sitting in my car with my little brother and watching the lightning storms over the Gulf of Mexico. Beautiful lightning displays!

I think the dumbest thing car manufacturers have done in the last few years is design cars where the headlights automatically come on but the other lights don't. Too often drivers don't realize their lights aren't on because of this. I flash drivers often because of this, but most rarely realize why they're being flashed

The new truck drivers are the worst I've witnessed in decades of driving! They take a four week class in our state at some fly by night "truck driving school" And then put behind the wheel of an 80,000 lb rig & trailer. The age of the tenured seasoned level headed OTR driver has long been over.
I love the mergers that drive like there on A Mobile Oil Economy Run. Then we have the last minute ditchers who want to pass everyone in case they turn off as well'

Regarding the part with daytime running lights, given how often people drive at night without them, the auto manufacturers should alter how they work. Just make them low-level headlights, with the rear lights on full. Or have a light sensor that automatically switches from DRL to regular headlights when it's dark. Or just get rid of them altogether.
I have a 2021 africa twin. I can either have the DLR on, which automatically switch to headlights when dusk, or just headlights on! The rear light comes on with either setting! The tft screen has an auto dark mode, so at ngt you don't have a bright white screen! Sat nav also has auto dark mode! With cars, I think the dash instruments should only illuminate when lights(not DLR) are on!

If they want to pass everyone, why not take advantage of a lane that was designed to allow you to get up to speed before driving like a crazy maniac. Daytime running lights - years ago I owned a Kia Sedona and when I started it all the lights came on. The only thìng the headlight switch did was allowed me to use my high beams. Why can't automakers do this now?

Even my new vehicle has Auto on the the headlight switch...this can also be set manually to require you to turn the headlights on by the driver
I rather prefer the older vehicles. Because the lights can be turned off or on manually. If you don't need them on. Then have them off.
