I was traveling down I-79N near Washington, PA yesterday and it was pouring down rain. I was empty (around 30,000 lbs) and I was doing around 70 MPH which is the speed limit. I came across a small overpass and my drive tires kicked out and scared the hell out of me. My steer tires didn't, and my trailer tires didn't, but my brand new drive tires did. My truck is a 2024, and only has around 28,000 miles on it, so there's no reason why they should have, but they did, and it scared me half to death!
They can actually be quite different depending on the year, brand, and model. When I traveled for business, some rental cars were hard to figure out, especially when you picked one up at night.
My dad drove semi for 40 years. He had a person tailgating his truck. If he switched lanes. They would follow his every move. He got fed up, and activated the brake switch for the trailer. As soon as he did. The trailer was squealing and bouncing around. The guy got scared and veered into the ditch. Then he released the switch.
0:48 "In half a mile, turn right onto . . . " As he then jackknifes to the right . . . I'd love to hear the GPS start saying "I SAID IN HALF A MILE, NOT RIGHT NOW!"
My Dad bought a new car, he was driving home the first night when he realized he didn't know how to change his high beams, he pulled over until he figured it out, was late for dinner, but Mom forgave him
People that are too scared to pass a Semi, get off the road and never drive again, especially if you don't understand the basic functions in the vehicle you are driving.
4:35 God, I hope that's a rental and she's just unfamiliar with it. I used to try NOT being in front of a guy with an electric scooter on his bumper that drove to work the same time as me. He apparently never thought to adjust his headlights to accommodate the scooter's effect on his vehicle's angle.
Straight up, I am a truck driver and my boss just told me the other day that he's going to install a driver cam and a dash cam in my truck due to the amount of crashes and distracted driving events that our company has been dealing with lately (not from me, I have a clean record). I sleep in my truck often, so I'm not excited about the driver cam, but I am excited to have a forward facing cam just so he can see the BS roads that I have to drive in WV, OH, and PA to get to the oilfield pads that I have to deliver to and the people that I encounter on those roads. My boss is a great guy and is a driver himself, but I had one of his other drivers from his area of Tennessee ride with me and he was scared the entire time because of the roads that I was traveling on and the other drivers I had to face. Luckily I knew the area as I had been delivering out there for years in the oilfield and that made him feel a little easier. He told me, "I'm so glad you know this area and you can drive because I would NEVER want to have to drive on these roads!"
@jasonsummit1885 still pretty ast and very long trailers. What I also see is that they often can take bends and kurves well. Do some have rear trailer tyres that can also steer? Thus to make a tighter bend/Kurve.
Why cant people show some respect?! A semi need space, have huge blindspots, and cant stop as easy as a small car. Even worse when they are fully loaded!
8:32 Why were you not honking and flashing your lights at that semi ahead of you drifting into oncoming traffic? You sat back and let him do it. Shame on you. It looks as if he fell asleep or something.
"for no reason" ... there is ALWAYS some reason ... it might be that they blame you for some 2 second delay in years past, it might be that they are stupid ... but there is always some reason.
0:00 And you clearly knew it was there and decided to block it. Well, that or you have no idea what mirrors are for and habitually drive past the speed limit in urban areas in a giant truck.. straight towards a red light. Neither is a good look..
If you could read, he said there were signs for trucks to stay in the left lane in the construction zone. Please learn to read before making an idiotic comment
@InternetKilledTV21 there was a k-rail, aka Jersey barrier, on the left side, separating the construction from traffic. Just because it is a construction zone doesn't mean it will have cones.
Cones or no cones, rail or no rail, barrier or no barrier ... if trucks are required to stay in the left lane, telling one of them to break the law and get into the right-most lane IS idiotic. It doesn't matter how the lanes are marked, laws are laws. Maybe sue them for giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming you're intelligent enough to obey laws without extra hand-holding. I mean come on, seriously?!
"Freak jack knife incident"? You were going too fast for conditions, and caught the wind generated by the other truck which added to your hydroplane.
Agreed. "Expected" jack knife...
That was an aeroplane.

@@Brock_Landers Seems to me 70 mph is a bit fast in a downpour. Lots of standing water on the highway. It's prudent to slow your roll somewhat.
@@Brock_Landers If you have problems on 79 , Hope you never have to drive on US 28 .
6:10 unfortunately high beam controls are highly specialized feature that requires additional specialized training. Lol!

How in hell do some of these people even get licensed??????
How much do you want to bet that most of them aren't.
0:50 . . The GPS voice said turn right in HALF A MILE. . Not HERE! 😛🤣
The Deer, made it safely to "the other side" 😉

8:26 - the silhouette of the hood ornament/handle is outstanding
00:47 Don't Yankee semis have trailer brakes?? or driver's think they're only for parking, lol.
Here's a clue: if you ease on the trailer brake it will keep your rig in a straight line & stop you jack-knifing
😂❤ crazy rider 🤯
Freak jack knife accident huh. More like going to fast for the weather conditions and more than likely bad tires.

Thus, driving 68 mph is allowed in the USA? That is about 115 kmh here. Here only 80 kmh is allowed (50 mph), for semi's/lorries. 🇳🇱
It's 85 mph(136 kmh) in some parts of Texas.
@jasonsummit1885 wouw, that is very fast. And how long are these semi trailers? Here, trailers are 12 meter (36 feet or so).
@@gerhard6105 I didn't read that last part, for semis it's usually 10 mph lower than cars and Semi trailers are 53 feet.

2nd trucker - either too fast or tires too bald if you cant handle a sudden breeze

5:00 we don't need to see videos like this one

I have a new video for your channel.
Hi again, I will check it out.
2:55 so called "professional"
4:35 another one - how about you just drive?
255 was clearly ice.
435 was a dumb dumb 4 wheeler doing annoying shit

happens all too often with truckers :(
9:20 so tailgating is nothing? Brake checkers are the worst after tailgaters.
Brake checking is gods way of telling tailgaters to back off.
7:55 get in the right-most lane. we can see in your mirror there was nothing there.
