  • This is a short-film featuring my father demonstrating some old school windsurf freestyle. It was filmed by me using a Panasonic FZ150. I edited it using Adobe Premiere with the help of my brother. I hope you like it!

Great to see. I used to do this also. Worked at the Wayler factory for 5 years...

I miss my old Wayler. I also had the same board and sail. taking it out one day in 25knt winds and rough water (running a 4mt sail) and having an absolute blast. My first board I owned only a few years back. I should never had sold it. I love the vintage boards.

Brilliant - I had this board and sail in 1982. Remember the best feeling in windsurfing on the plane with the daggerboard over your shoulder and water jetting up through the gap.

Oh my good. He is so cool. I surfed on my old and similar board last summer. So nice to rediscover 25 years ago... Today my equipment is all carbon and hightech...

My first windsurfer was the first year they went from the teak boom to the aluminum and I can relate as I was doing the exact same things your father was doing back in those days.

Yes, I learned on one of these huge boards before I even had a learner's license to drive a car ! And a bad back by age 15 ! Windsurfing is the best and most difficult sport ever invented. Thank goodness for Bonaire and Lac Bay !

Now is possible again - REDISCOVER THE WONDERS OF WINDSURFING
The new Windsurfer LT from Starboard is floatier, faster, more stable and a huge step forward as the 50 year gap would indicate. It will help you rediscover the wonders of windsurfing through its focus on light and shifty winds. The Windsurfer LT brings back what made the sport accessible and exciting for most people, most places on most days.

I used to be on the import / pr team for Wayler and loved those tricks - where the tail sink Gybe though, kind of at the end? Thanks for some great memories I still have a pile of Wayler bits and bobs ;-)
