    I think her communication skills are Extraordinary. Her knowledge of the game, her ability to communicate with players and manipulate them into position, that’s the sign of a true point guard. She is averaging 31 points, a game, A GAME. I’m pretty sure it’s not her defense anyone should be worried about.

    • @mariettedorobis6967
      @mariettedorobis6967 9 месяцев назад +1

      When I saw her play in person, this was the #1 thing I noticed. She runs literally everything. Even on defense, while she herself might not be an amazing defender, she was directing everything and making sure everyone was in position. I see why it’d be tempting to play her at the 2 at the next level but I hope she stays a PG for this reason
      Also the way she talks about the fame shows how high IQ she is, like she clearly just thinks it at such a high level

    My Caitlin Clark draft scouting report: Caitlin Clark will be one of the greatest players of all time in the WNBA, and a good chance of being the GOAT. She's that good. Drafting anybody ahead of her is lunacy.

    Her lack of defense probably lends itself to keeping her clear of serious foul trouble.

      Also a good point!

    • @mariettedorobis6967
      @mariettedorobis6967 9 месяцев назад

      I’ve definitely felt this, especially around the rim I feel like I’ve seen her potentially in the position to make a block but hesitate bc she’s afraid of fouling, which she obviously can’t afford to do

    • @charliedoyle7824
      @charliedoyle7824 9 месяцев назад +4

      Caitlin definitely is often assigned easier players to guard, on the wing, basically out of the way, to keep her out of foul trouble.
      She's so important on offense that she can't be like Cam Brink, who is always in foul trouble, but can be replaced by Kiki Iriafen or Lauren Betts last year, where Stanford could still function. If Clark were to get 30 minutes a game instead of 36+ in big games, Iowa's chances would diminish a lot. Her ability to stay out of foul trouble and still get significant steals is another sign of her huge value.

      On her defense,you said her help defense on drives were not good when that's one of the places she has actually improved.You also failed to mention she averages close to 2 steals per game due to her ability intercept passes.Funnily enough?,even though this year she has to carry more of a load than ever before,her defensive rating is the highest it's ever been.I truly believe that her defense will improve when her lead on offense isn't as huge in the next level😊

    • @HunterCruse14
      @HunterCruse14  9 месяцев назад +1

      Appreciate the feedback! I’d say she was a slightly better defender last season, but I can see how you view it otherwise. Also as a counterpoint on the steals, it’s inflated by a 7-steal game against Drake and I think her steals are a lot of times ‘right place at the right time’ rather than making an impact defensive play.

    • @neilkokemuller7841
      @neilkokemuller7841 9 месяцев назад

      It's splitting hairs, but I've focused on her defense more this year just because of the conversation around it. I think there are plenty of instances where she has proven she can move her feet, cut off drives and recover. Is she an elite defender... no. However, as you indicated in the analysis, I think she has proven the ability to guard. Iowa runs a lot of junk defense and, in part (as you noted), creates circumstances where Clark doesn't have to max energy on both sides of the court for 34-40 minutes.@@HunterCruse14

    • @mariettedorobis6967
      @mariettedorobis6967 9 месяцев назад +2

      @@HunterCruse14 she did have more help offensively last season, which gave her more energy on defense, and conversely has better defenders this year so perhaps feels she can rest a bit more. I do think some of her steals are right place right time for sure but she’s also very good at reading passing lanes

    For a point guard, Caitlin Clark is a great rebounder. That why Caitlin Clark gets alot triple doubles. Caitlin Clark herself said she won't have the ball in her hands all the times. That why she said she want get better playing off the ball. Each year Caitlin Clark get better and better. Caitlin Clark really most compete all around female basketball player ever . No other female basketball player can shoot from half court like Caitlin Clark. Also Caitlin Clark share the basket ball by involved her teammates into making points in the games. That why Caitlin Clark lead the country in assist. If Caitlin Clark wanted too. Caitlin Clark could average 50 points a game. Caitlin Clark is that good. It that Caitlin Clark really a unselfish player that want get her teammates involved in making points.

      even in today's game, averaging 8 assists is unheard of now. in the men's ranks, aau, upper division HS and higher, the leading pg's are considered studs averaging 6 and borderline 5 is an indication of a good passer.

    What she'll bring to a team financially alone before evaluating her as a player is more than enough to take her #1. Her games 4-7x WNBA viewership, 81% increase in ticket sales(Womens NCAA is up 46%), 120% increase in ticket prices, etc. She also just happens to be probably the best efficient volume scoring guard to come out of college that also happens to be 6ft tall. She'll be both an amazing asset finnacially and on the court.

    I've noticed her jumpers long distance is all to her left and no one mentions that. S. Carolina in the last 3 quarters forced her to her right and she had major trouble scoring. She shoots from left to right, but no one mentions that. It's hard to go from left to right in form shooting when you're going to your right. Watch that and notice the results.

    • @jjl586
      @jjl586 6 месяцев назад

      Yes I completely agree. This is the first thing I noticed watching her highlights after all the hype. This is a huge flaw with her shooting form. She probably learned to shoot this way to generate enough power with consistency when shooting 3s. Even when she dribbles right and does a step back, she has to take one dribble to the left to shoot. She needs to work on this asap or teams will learn how to guard her

    Opposing teams need to be concerned with Clark's offense and how they might slow her down. There are few high scorers in basketball history who were also outstanding defensively. Even so, the advanced statistics show her defense was poor her first year but has improved since then. So has her offense, for that matter, which should scare potential opponents.

    She will be like MAGIC. Taller than the guard, guarding her. Like BIRD, as she can and will make you pay, via the shot selection, and playmaking. Like STEPH, with the Gravity.. She is gonna open up the game, for whatever team she joins.
    IF she is the #2 option, that is SCARY!!!!! IE non-point guard..
    I AM READY TO SEE a female steph, just running alllllll over the court, causing carnage.

      @HunterCruse14  9 месяцев назад +2

  • @jjl586
    @jjl586 6 месяцев назад +2

    Just started watching her but her glaring flaw off the bat - She can’t shoot 3s off the dribble when going to her right because of her shooting form. Im guessing it’s because she can’t get enough power off. She needs to bring the ball up low from her left side to generate enough power to shoot 3s. She needs to somehow fix this or players will learn how to guard her

    • @briansales8106
      @briansales8106 5 месяцев назад +1

      You were spot on because that’s exactly what the better WNBA teams are doing-pushing her right! Her ball-handling is very suspect when defended by smaller quicker players. She is having great difficulty against Tier 1 (starters) so far. I think if she gets stronger and works on her limitations Caitlin will be an all-star but the expectations are overwhelming playing for a bad team.

    Do you actually mean that Caitlin just might get to be one of those Highly Honored "No Guaranteed Contract" WNBA Draft Picks......You know, the one where she can be CUT 15 minutes after she signs and won't even get Cab Fare To The Bus Station? WOW, What an Honor. Caitlin's Extremely Talented "Secundo", Monica Czinano(Sic) got one of those "Honored Picks"...She sat on the bench for a Month Or So....Played Mere Minutes.........Then Was Summarily CUT!
    Tell Me All Over Again, Why Being "Drafted" by the WNBA is such a Fantastic Honor, And To Be Cherished.......
    Word is Monica is Playing Overseas........Guess they're not as good "Over There" as the(Same) Legends that have been playing in the WNBA for Years, Years and Years, huh? But Wait....Don't the Ball Geniuses of the WNBA play Overseas too, in the off season, because their Pay is So Paltry they can't live on it year round???? Who Knew, huh?
    Guess they can't Spend or Eat those Draft Certificates....Another Shock!
    I Hope that, in One Way Or Another, Caitlin makes the WNBA get off their asses and Do something about the "Good Old Girls Network" of the WNBA, both on the Court and in the Board Rooms......That Have Run That League Into The Ground, With Their "Agenda" and Other Nonsense, rather than Actually GROWING Women's Basketball into a Viable and Enjoyable Sport. I love Women's College B-Ball, simply for the Science that it displays and the Talent Of The Players.......Whichever College Team that Wins the National Title for 2024 can Kick The Crap out of Any WNBA Team.....Hands Down! That Bunch of Tatted Up, Lumbering Divas, Don't Stand A Chance, if the Refs are Fair
