    First of all no man's sky has no MICROTRANSACTIONS thats a rare gem in todays gaming trend and no loading screen when you takeoff and landing to and from space

      And to be able to fly across a planet in your ship... One of the things that drew me to the game to begin with. Those load screens where you get in a ship then suddenly are in space but can't use your ship within a planet's atmosphere are not at all satisfying to me.

      Is the game "player centric"? Meaning the player is always located at 0,0,0 to maintain mathematical accuracy of distance objects. Watch the Outer Wilds docu how this works wrt physics, but the same is also true for Elite Dangerous. In Outer Wilds you can see the effect of mathematical inaccuracy occurring if you travel far outside the solar system, glitches galore everywhere. I can't fathom any other way to overcome this fundamental math problem, so feel free to educate me if the engine doesn't work that way. If it does work that way, that imposes numerous other restrictions I typically wouldn't want to see in other types of games, like extremely limited physics simulations going on other than player and particle systems that don't react to world.

      I hope they never stop actually working on this game and keep updating it until we have an amazing f****** game I'm on board with 10$ a month kinda like wow but it's just to pay the development team to keep adding new stuff I would love them to start adding planets that are hand made and really cool stuff that you could never get with procedural generation you know like In the first lie trailer they put out that planet looks sick this game could be the best game and biggest if it keeps getting the updates like it has props to the team for not giving up like every other game company when the game gets ripped apart was it still a dumb move yes but I'm they have 100% payed for that and keep giving more so ya 10 a month from 50,000 people that would give them 500,000$ every month he'll even do like 5$ a month I just really want to see this game keep getting updates am I the only one that thinks that would be a good idea because let's face it they will stop working on it if they can't pay the development team duhh

    I returned to the game for the 3rd time now and I'm enjoying it right now like never before. Just completed main story mission and started latest released mission with Autophage. Game is easy to learn and hard to master. It has so much content and it doesn't hold your hand. It is pure sandbox experience and I love it. Really chill game to play after day of work. I can see myself playing it for a loooong time.
    The 80's vibe is strong in this game, aesthetic is really something else. I'm a gamer since 90's and I can tell it is one of my all time favorites 10/10.

      That's why I like it, very chilled game after work.
      and I like that it doesn't hold your hand, can just do WHATEVER YOU WANT, not forced into anything..

    Personally would love to see the some real open war between the species that already exist. If there were conflict between systems you could get involved in, both in battles, and maybe smuggling for the enemy, or even your friends. Seems like an easy expansion where they don't have to go too far outside of current mythos to pull off.

    didn't realize you were also from the rock despite your name until the last sentence of the video lol. The point you made "having an endgame goal" is a great one. Even if you do not pursue this end goal, just having it available to the player adds so much more value to each step they take in the world. I play a game called "Project Zomboid" from time to time, and it suffers from the same problem. It is an amazing game, however because it is such a true sandbox experience there is ultimately no goal. There's nothing wrong with this at all, but I believe having an optional "purpose" creates more value in the minute by minute experience weather or not you seek out that final goal.

    What i want to see is to be able to walk around your ship and sit down and even have two seats. So you can bring a friend along. They can walk around while you pilot. And more life on planets and just random events on planets that happen often. There’s needs to be more to do on planets than just look around and fly away. Also give us the option to take the backpack off.

    • @soulssong2u
      @soulssong2u 7 месяцев назад +1

      I agree, ship design where you can walk inside your ship and where another player could actually travel with you in your ship would be great! It sounds as if you're not really a builder and aren't likely to want to find all of the creatures, minerals and plants on planets as well as learn the languages, which is something many players do besides explore. Also make sure you check out Nexus missions if you haven't already.

    The thing with Multiplayer, is that it's expensive to maintain. NMS uses a basic low cost Microsoft system that just barely covers it. Anything more would require more income, which would mean paid dlc or microtransactions.

    Seriously thinking of getting it this New Year. I remember low-key thinking it's interesting but being put off by the whole 2016 release controversy, to actually enjoying it somewhat when my friend let me play it.
    Plus it gives me Subnautica in space vibes. Probably just the half-cartoonish sci-fi aesthetic and the fact that it's open world game with crafting and stuff, but still a plus in my book.

      Update: So I got it and yeah, quite liking it so far! After a few hours of playing, I'm already starting to form memories which include:
      - Finding a gross meatball rolling across the planet like a tumbleweed.
      - Having a giant worm fly above my head.
      - Being chased by Sentinels all across a star system after getting 4 stars and eventually getting a frigate to chase me down. (I'm pretty sure there was some bug that didn't allow them to lose track of me, after 20 minutes of flying back and forth I reloaded in a cave and they lost interest.)
      - Adopting a... what I can only assume to be a living plasma ball from a very strange planet.
      - Finding a pirate-controlled system (also the first system I found that wasn't found by anyone before), didn't get too familiar with the mechanics but the broken down red tinted space station looks cool as hell. First game where I wanna lowkey work for the bad guys.

    I have played for nearly 2000 hours over the last couple of years. I take short breaks from the game to play other games but find myself going back to playing NMS again after awhile. They need to work on the vehicles to make them faster and to upgrade the storage like you can your ship. They really need to work on the refiner speed and up it about 10X as well. That is one of the things I see people who stream live avoiding as much as possible because they are so slow. I know they added the personal refiner which helps but it is still way too slow. They need better loot. Why have different levels of locking loot behind doors and items just to find they have the same basic loot as the "free" loot on the ground once unlocked? Even so, it is my favorite game of all time.

    You are forgetting to mention that it's the same thing, forever. The tiny little changes here and there are so small you have to search for them. They have added some good stuff lately, but it's still a drop in the ocean of what needs to be done. This is for exploring, but you are exploring the same things... within 5 minutes you can uncover every nuance of the entire planet. You don't even need to go but maybe 1k meters from where you land to see everything there is to see on it. It would be much better if each planet had different biomes, or areas rather than a showcase of the entire place wherever you choose to land. I could go on for ages of why this game is boring in its current state. The first week of playing this game is an amazing experience, by far one of the best. However, after that, all the mystery and exploration is just gone.

No matter of a excavator with every single option like a normal one, or just a basic rocket. you name it. For pure Sandboxing and building things, thats my Game, and the Ships the community build are absolute awsome. from fully sized (1.1km lengh) Venator Class from starwars, to little liftforks or the Flintstone Car you will find anything. Dont get me wrong, i had fun with NMS also, its a good game, but the building stuff isnt that great. For Buildings only id say; ARK and its mods, you can build from a viking building to modern glass and concrete houses. There totaly better options then NMS.

  • @fuchsiebabe
    @fuchsiebabe 6 месяцев назад

    I disagree, the game doesn't need a "new final goal" since that's not the kind of game it's trying to be. The entire game is highly nihilistic and plays with themes around recursion, loops, infinity and the strangeness of existence. The game is hugely philosophical in all of its lore and storytelling. I certainly think more can be done with NPC autonomy & interactivity now that generative ai can be used to create bespoke, high quality text, this would be hugely impactful for allowing every NPC to have a personality based upon their unique seed value, as well as adding combat with NPCs which doesn't take place in a starship. But "final goals" to strive towards in a game like NMS with the lore it has, kind of misses the point. With a deeper, GPT-based system for all NPCs, plus better AI allowing more NPC autonomy, like NPCs who can engage in activities relevant to their lives and routine based on the prompt generated by their own seed, there's a whole lot more replay value to be had here, than with almost anything else.

    If I'm being honest... I didn't enjoy the game very much. I heard about and played it in 2023, and it still feels like a buggy mess. Bases shifting left and right when you leave and come back, unabandonable quests stacking in your pause screen... And all the world still feel like the same templates with different flora and fauna slapped on top of them. I can't tell what the hype is about.

    Looking at the way the characters legs are positioned every time you fly was off putting they can’t even make a jet pack fly look reasonable? I’m out.

    Playing this on the Switch, and I'm struggling to stay interested tbh. It was fun at first, looking for materials to fix my ship, and keep myself alive, but after leaving one planet, and landing on another, my ship needs fixing again, I'm just trying to survive while trying in vain to upgrade everything to make it feel more rewarding and a little less of a chore. Maybe I need to spend more time with it, as ordinarily I love exploration and survival games. One thing I find annoying is the menu diving, and trying to organize materials and supplies. It might be better on the other versions, maybe it's just the Switch version, or maybe it's not the game for me, as much as I want to really enjoy iy.

    One of the best games ever, definitely. Weak points are it's story and narrow starship FOV from first person (usually even more obstructed by illogical ship design).
    Story wise - who likes to play just a construct nearing it's end, entity that is nothing but a machine's dream? As for starship FOV, it so hard to play first person that people usually fly third person and that looks like cheap arcade game.

      It's just my opinion after playing the game a few hundred hours. I'm not saying that at first it wasn't fun, but overtime it does get very repetitive and boring.

    • @chrispche
      @chrispche 7 месяцев назад

      Fair enough. I guess cos I'm only 80 hours in that I'm still finding stuff to do. This type of game is not native to me. I usually play 4X and RTS games. So this is a bit of an odd one out for me and as such might be more engrossing because of that.

      Perhaps just not your preferred style of game. There is a lot to do in this game but you have to be self driven and look for it. A lot of people like first person shooter games and this is not it. It is survival / exploration with some elements of combat in a mostly sandbox game.

      @@chrispche Think people expect to be told what to do, and miss out on half the game, and as someone else said, too many expect gun play.. its just not that kind of game.
      MOST games today have become full of cutscenes and even the SO CALLED RPG's are still linear AF.. need to be pushed into an end goal..
      We live in a DUMBED DOWN world today where people arent creative enough to enjoy this game.
      I personally get bored of running around playing First Person Shooters years ago and think COD games are for dumb dumbs... but don't go into their comments to rag on it..
      SUSPECT these negative comments are largely Starfield fans.
      I love SHIPS and Multitools myself..
      So have a Character where all 3 presets are Autophage, All Atlantid, sentinel and Autophage weapons and character customisations.. all sentinel ships.. my "Robot" characters.
      Another with all alien ships and weapons, Alien and traveller skins .. mostly Alien frigates..
      Another save just built to jump from galaxy to galaxy, build a base on each one.
      And my industrious "Anomaly" (My human) who has all mechanical ships
      and another just for testing building in creative mode..
      I play to CHILL, these guys are clearly looking for something else (I suspect with the sudden hate for this game its SALTY STARFIELD FANS.

    YEARS LATER AND STILL UNPLAYABLE, GAME BREAKING ISSUES!!!
    The FPS on my SX is so bad, I cannot even play this game. The stuttering is BAD! Other problem is, the menus are so complex, deep and confusing that even if the FPS was smooth, it's still unplayable. The menu complexity is a game breaker alone. Menus upon menus stacked on menus with sub menus, then sub menus of sub menus, options all over the place of things I have no clue what it's even talking about. They certainly had no desire to simplify things. A college course is required before I can get into this thing.

    I've had my eye on it since it was originally announced. Saw its release and how disappointed people were when it initially launched. But I've kept watching and seeing all the updates hello games have continued to make. Finally pulled the trigger and got an Xbox series s, this past Friday. First system I've owned since 2016. Haven't been able to put it down since. The game is fantastic. 🤘
