- Shashank Mani Tripathi is the founder of the Jagriti Yatra, an annual fifteen-day train journey, the world's largest entrepreneurial one, to the four corners of India in the company of 500 young leaders.
With a B. Tech from IIT Delhi, and an MBA from IMD Lausanne Shashank has worked in both corporate and government sectors as a strategist and visionary, serving on the $5 Trillion committee of the commerce ministry. A ghumakkad at heart and a public man of action by temperament, he has circled India fifteen times on the Jagriti Yatra, energizing 7,500 leaders in the process.
Shashank lives and works in his ancestral village Barpar in Eastern Uttar Pradesh. He is developing his region through Udyamita, a definition of enterprise aimed at invigorating local economy and society.

Living in Europe I really believe that our villages in India have great potential in terms of tourism, culture and development. Why cant our villages look like European villages with a dharmic culture.

Bharat is becoming a Soft Power Giant, we should not focus on opening factories, rather focussing on service sectors, softwares, movies, musics, etc.

We can blame British all we want, but there is massive casteism in rural India that we need to work at. You would be hard pressed to find a Brahmin family in rural Maharashtra. All have moved to the cities due to caste based discrimination.

Crime per million of india is least and it is due to our philosophy of Karma because we don't blame other for our acts and go against to commit crime instead we say that it is our wrong deed of past due to which the suffering comes.
Viksit Bharat can happen only when we "mentor" our youth to be Viksit Bharat Leaders.
This is exactly what we are doing with our mentorship program. Shashank, his journey, Jagriti Yatra and the book are incredibly brilliant. I have personally never been to the Yatra.
But I will. Along with the Viksit Bharat Leaders that we are developing.
It's great to see him on vaad he is a great visionary leader we were upset with the BJP for not giving him a ticket 2 but they gave it now.

I watched the full podcast and i can agree with him only till 40 min of conversation after that dont .
I have been blogging about the overhaul of the whole administration system. It must be properly decentralised, depoliticised. Smooth corruption free local governance is essential for the growth of India.
Get rid of Panchyat Raj, it's regressive , interferes with individual lives. Replace it with " Gram Sevak". A 12 member village board elected by the villagers. Volunteers to raise issues of the villagers, apply for funding, advisory role to inform and educate villagers of government welfare, education, health etc. A community centre in every village to house the board office, and to conduct meetings. The centre can also be used for recreation, sports, hired out to the villagers to help financially maintain the premises.
The only monetary incentive the board can apply for are expenses to conduct the business of the board, travel, maintenance of the community centre. The board will have 3executive member, who will convene meetings, keep records and accounts. The executive members should have a tenure of 3yrs only, the villagers will choose another 3 exec members, this will stop hegemony and corruption.
