Thanks for showcasing my instrument! I appreciate your feedback! It was a pleasure to hear some real music being made from it! In case anyone is interested, I just posted a self-critique video of the instrument on my channel. I noted a few other lessons learned and things I would do differently. Thanks again! I look forward to seeing upcoming videos!
His number five has the benefit of your videos, which you did not have. :) I'm trying to work up the courage to send you my number 3! Shout out to Steven, this was VERY inspiring to me. I know I'm making all kinds of mistakes, and this tells me I can make mistakes and IT STILL COUNTS. Beautiful, warts and all!
Thanks! I definitely had the benefit of Del's videos! They got me started so I could explore with confidence. That allowed me to learn from my mistakes with humility. From my perspective, it's the process that is the most fun!
If you're not making mistakes, you're probably not getting anything done. Don't be afraid to go for it - mistakes are an opportunity to learn new things, and add character!
Cool to see and hear a tin can banjo. I'm planning to make a series of these in the near future to give as gifts to friends and family. Hopefully will have time to get one off to you Del!
I've been wanting to build one with an old school metal lunch box. I guess I'll have to find one now and do it. Loving these critique videos and seeing what other builders are doing.
Great idea to build the box upside down, also to preserve the often beautiful covers. I built three wooden boxes yet, and always leave a gap between the neck and the top let let it vibrate and sound hopefully better acoustically. To withstand the pressure of the saddle, I glue like a brace or put a dowel underneath, between the top and the back of the box. But I can't tell if that makes a big difference...
There are some on this channel, but there's no such thing as too many. I always learn something new when Del makes another. RUclips search "guitar neck Del Puckett."

Now that one's a beauty. Nice job
@@FledRelic393a Thanks! I learned a lot from it. Check out my latest instrument build that I made for Shane Speal!
The best thing about coming home from vacation is a batch of new Del Puckett videos to watch!
I've been ordering from C.B.Gitty since 2015, I've been very satisfied!!
Great Work Steve!!!

Very cool! Makes me want to revisit a tin build in the future.

I just saw a tin of cookies a few days ago and thought about building one of these 😂 you read my mind?
Well done Steve, fun in a can!
Thanks! Check out some of my other builds. I built a cool one for Shane Speak a couple of months ago.
@@stevesstrings5243 where can I see the others?
@@rohlfing63 On my RUclips channel, Steve’s Strings.
Never have done a Tin-BG - but I'm sure ... one fine day I will do a Canjo too! 👍
It sounds fairly thin...I'm guessing putting the lid back on might remedy that a bit?
oh yeah… i forgot to replace lid during sound check… ddhhooohh!!
@@PuckettCigarBoxGuitar 🤣 I was waiting for you to put the lid back on! "C'mon, Del! C'mon!! The lid!! The lid!!"
Please do a video on how to get a low action on cigar box guitar there are no videos on this out there that I can find

root-fifth-octave tuning is good for the Flintstones theme... and Superman 😅
