I like how much you respect old equipment. When you mentioned Drott it made my day. Whenever people ask me what I learned on (excavator) and I say “An old Detroit powered Drott 50” they have no clue what I’m talking about. 2 speed drive, hydraulic tilting of the cab, pillow blocks… they had a lot of features for them days.
The direction of the exhaust cap, should be determined by the way the tractor sets on your trailer. You don't want the flap flipped open when driving down the highway 😎
Ex-heavy equipment field tech, now retired with my own hobby machine shop. Love to see the rod rebuild/repair. You guys are fun to watch go through your repair steps.
Yep, loved watching cab and cylinder removal. Love the 175 . We used to call the roll cage ROPS, Roll Over Protection System. Throughout the industry. During and before the Dresser buyout I sold a lot of new and used International TD7, TD8 , TD12, TD15 DRESSER BROUGHT ON THE 5.9 CUMMINS. THE OLD DT466 INTERNATIONAL ENGINE WAS ONE OF THE BEST ENGINES OF ITS TIME. HOWEVER I PREFERRED THE 5.9 BECAUSE IT STARTED EASIER, WAS QUICKER TO REBUILD AND HAD TONS OF TORQUE. THAT CUMMINS REALLY CAUGHT ON IN THE LATE 90S WITH TONS OF APPLICATIONS. THE COMPANY I WORKED FOR FOR 25 YRS. SOLD 96 DIFFERENT BRANDS OF HEANY EQUIPMENT FROM BUCYRUS ERIE DRAGLINES FOR STRIP MINING TO CASE BACKHOES FROM GALION MOTOR GRADERS TO LINK BELT CRANES FROM TIMBERJACK SKIDDERS TO PRENTISS LOADERS, HYDRO AX FELLER BUNCHERS, BLUE OX WHOLE STEM CHIPPERS And many more. At 74 I look back at what a fascinating career I had as an outside salesman. Was on hundreds of job sites and kicked a lot of dirt. I would enjoy watching you fix those rods. But would it be cost effective. Do you even have the time. You have a lot of flooring and side panels to fabricate. One thing is for dam sure, it is gonna be one fine machine when you finish with it.
Glad to see you taken to youtube and making videos of your daily shop adventures In repairs of lots different equipment. These videos area pleasure to watch. Keep them coming Clint. You need a family member as a Camera person. Keep it in the family.
Looking forward to the lathe work. I have been following a fellow in Brisbane, QLD. Australia who is well set up doing this kind of work. It is fascinating to watch. Love your videos.
If the rain cap is mounted backwards then when you pull it down the road on a lowboy it will blow the cap open and potentially spin the turbo compressor wheel without oil lubrication.
@@gregmattes8053 you would be pulling the dozer backwards going down the road therefore if you put the rain cap on backwards, the cap would blow open going down the road. Most people know you never back a track machine up on a detach
Hi guys a business in Australia that works on mining equipment mostly rebuilding lift cylinders on dozers haulers earthmoving vehicles WILL NOT reuse a pitted ram. he will only use factory replacements or a hi-quality aftermarket and says replacing a pitted ram will fail and that would come out of his pocket to redo CUTTING EDGE ENGINEERING check out his work probably the most knowledgeable person I've seen on youtube and he explains every step he takes if he needs to replace a ram he can order the blanks and cut to length and turn ends to weld
You really do a good job explaining what you do with the equipment I was referring to his knowledge of machining cylinders and boring them. I don't watch videos if they won't take the time for us viewers to learn something from their videos
Ran a 175 in 1979, I was logging at the time, it had a shear head on it, it was super easy to learn and get productive on, mind you for the first 2 weeks I had to skid my own work so definitely was incentive to get it right, my father in law
That's going to make someone a super nice trac-loader. Man it sounds so good too. Looks so much better without that cab as well! Great job guys, Loving the videos Clint!!!
On our old farm tractors we ran the rain cap backwards so it would not catch on tree limbs and low doors when driving in barns so would not tear up tail pipe or mufflers.
Remind Kevin, the cap always angles away from the operator. On a D7F, faces forward. A 953 rear engine, it faces aftward. On a HET, probably doesn’t matter. Great shop videos!
👍👍👍 yes ,please redue rods .like cutting-edge engineering.I believe costs will be less .Buy the rods, keep up good work C&C equipment.keep video coming.
Great video. Anyone needing a piece of used equipment and don’t go to C&C, is messing up. Not many companies will go through the effort that Clint and his boys do on fixing their equipment up. Good job guys! I think you are right about the flapper, Clint. You don’t want that smoke blowing back in your face. Thanks for sharing! Edit: I would love to see you work on them yourself.
Hi from uk guys👋👍 good going getting all cylinders stripped and some threads stripped to for the cause😂 that socket is still hot then clint picked up nut with shady rag🔥 you had me at the lad who went looking for imperial or metric adjustable/crescent wrench👌😂 and yeah I would live to see the engineering side to rebuiling the rods if you could I love processes like that👌 thanks for your time and be safe see you soon guys👍👋
Flappers, rain caps, depends on which way your tractor sits in the trailer when towing. Mount the hinge side of the rain cap into the wind so it doesn't open when towing and let the rain in at 60 mph then you wonder why it don't start.
You might get a surprise when you price rod stock! It's getting scarce too. I must say you and Kevin do great work. Wish my old Father was around to see this sort of thing. He was a old cat owner/driver from the 50s. Sold his last D8 in 75. He would get a smile on his face seeing air conditioning on a tractor!
Took a minute but finally finished watching this video and after seeing the last bit of the video I don't understand why I never made the connection before but now I see Kevin is the MBTS of Nashville Indiana.
Your Kevin is a hoot, a brother i should of had... everything shows effort to make the public happy so who am i to complain. Please keep it coming Clint as I really appreciate it
Good video Clint.... Want to say Thank You for be prompt on shipping parts out... I just bought some cj2a parts this week... ordered online and you all sent them out next day.... glad see you on DP's channel cause you guys are another resource for cj2a parts.... great channel...
I say the weather cap open to the rear, but depends on your setup. Our tractors usually get pulled on the trailer and you're less likely to bend it around tree limbs too.
Some of yours RUclips channel videos are American history channel fore us in Europe! Many thanks fore your videos Sir! From Peter Eriksson Sweden Europe 😮😅😊!
Would like to see some cylinder rod machine work Clinton, I remember back in the early 60’s the old DROTT’s.. I used to spend hours and hours watching these machines .. great video, great banter between yourself and Kevin ..great content.. cheers…🇬🇧🇬🇧
Good to see the old getting proper loving. And no doubt I've always been a fan of cables machines for the pure sake of visibility, can't even stand looking through a windshield on an excavator lol. Not to mention the old girl looks better without the cab too. Would love to see the cylinder rod Rebuild work BTW. Can't wait for the next one, keep up the great work guys 😁👍
You two are having too much fun!! That leads to ????? The cyl disassembly was interesting. Perhaps you should file a notice with Quiness Record book for Kevins high torque fingers!!!!! LOL
Hi Clinton love the channel , i used to use a 175B on and off for several years with the company I used to work for here in the UK and had the international engine lovely machine with plenty of pushing power but you knew you had been on it at the end of the day . Thanks for sharing what you do great stuff
Man getting that cab off was forked! Good thing you had the metric fork lift. It would be interesting to see you make new rods and thanks for the disassembly video.
Since I found your channel, via Dirt Perfect, I find what ever you do is interesting and informative, ( and entertaining. ) The banter between you and Kevin is similar to Mike and MBTS. You must be doing something right as your subs are increasing.
Watched you video in portions whilst dealing with scammers. All fine and money safe whew! Just incredible how you dismantle the 'track loader' - bit like a surgeon and I've assisted and watched many operations. Fun video guys thanks for the entertainment.
I left the family farm and got a public job running a 627 in 1971. We always installed rain caps to exhaust towards the rear over the 🎉operators head. That way when we hauled the equipment the wind would not open the exhaust and cause the turbo to spin backwards without oil pressure. So now tell me if that makes a difference or we just did what we were told to do.
Those good machines, there is a local contractor in my area who had several International 175 he loved them. They used them for mostly cutting house pads and loading trucks, in those day Excavator weren't popular yet. Now Excavator have taken popularly and are the way to go.
@@C_CEQUIPMENT Absolutely they did! I'm 37, started cutting house seats and digging footers when I was 11 and the men I worked for had track loaders. You wouldn't believe the number of people I have since worked with and around, who just don't understand how capable of a machine they are
I like ram rework, use to do it a lot, used EL50 chrome plate shaft to make the rods. Thing is one needs to anneal the rod ends to be able weld and machine on the rod. I have a couple techniques I used if your interested on the pin eye and rod connection point. Thanks for the ride along, BTW, how many forklifts does it take to remove a cab, answer, all ya got.😏😉😁
Always fun to watch. Making of a new rod always fun to watch. I like to use Iscar WNGA 080408T Ceramic insert to remove the hardened out layer. But it depend how many your planning on doing. But ebay is your friend...
Hello there. I saw one of those big long reach load all's tip over. They had it at full stretch without the jack's down. It bloo a tire and over she went.
Sideways is how I did it on trucks. Driving down the road, forward the wind has a chance of blowing down the exhaust. Facing back the wind blows the flapper shut. Also face outward, away from the center of the truck.
I'm going to guess a lot of the subscribers also watch Cutting Edge Engineering Australia... where he does a lot of cylinder rebuild work.
Rebuilt rods
Yes, he does amazing work.
Yep
He does great work and Homeless keeps him safe
I watch him.Impresive shop he runs. Some real interesting projects

I am sure our esteemed Congress spent our money wisely and paid that much for each and every one, can you say kickback! Thanks for the video!
Watching things being built is better than watching store bought parts being assembled... Another level of learning...
The direction of the exhaust cap, should be determined by the way the tractor sets on your trailer. You don't want the flap flipped open when driving down the highway 😎
I really enjoy watching you guys pick on each other as you work together. Humor is such an important part of life.
Ex-heavy equipment field tech, now retired with my own hobby machine shop. Love to see the rod rebuild/repair. You guys are fun to watch go through your repair steps.
Rainy Sunday by Lowrider! Great selection!
I seen the het wrecker you built in Asheville, NC
Nice, a long video. Really enjoy the long videos.
Always enjoy watching you guys resolve the complicated stuff! Keep it coming!
Thanks! Will do!

Kurtis is a wizard at rebuilding hydro cylinders, and a good giggle to listen too.
I was about to say that too. Just watch Kurtis' last video and you get a refresher on how to do it.
If the rain cap is mounted backwards then when you pull it down the road on a lowboy it will blow the cap open and potentially spin the turbo compressor wheel without oil lubrication.
And what happens when you put it on the trailer “backwards” like most people do so the bucket sits over the trailer axles???
And there is the correct answer.
@@gregmattes8053 you would be pulling the dozer backwards going down the road therefore if you put the rain cap on backwards, the cap would blow open going down the road. Most people know you never back a track machine up on a detach
Can anyone say duct tape
There has been videos showing that it is pretty difficult to get those turbo wheels to spin hauling machines
Check out his line of doorsteps. There are some really big eyes that have been torn completely open. That must have taken some real pressure.
You really do a good job explaining what you do with the equipment I was referring to his knowledge of machining cylinders and boring them. I don't watch videos if they won't take the time for us viewers to learn something from their videos
So the DIY takeaway of the day is…lots of forklifts, got it. 👍😎

Great again. You got the tools for sure.
Thanks
Great video, I enjoy watching two master mechanics at work. looking forward to more videos on restoration of the loader.
Calm, thoughtful and very knowledgeable, they are a pleasure to watch.
Clint I agree with you on the rain flap opening away from the operator
Nice to have the tools do what you want. I didn't know the Dresser was made by International ,nice.
That's going to make someone a super nice trac-loader. Man it sounds so good too. Looks so much better without that cab as well! Great job guys, Loving the videos Clint!!!
Thanks
On our old farm tractors we ran the rain cap backwards so it would not catch on tree limbs and low doors when driving in barns so would not tear up tail pipe or mufflers.
I would be very interested in seeing some metal turned. You have a lot of knowledge to pass along. Have a great day.
Coming
I agree with Kevin, that way they don't get ripped off with limbs etc.
Always mount the weighted end forward for reduced wind resistance when traveling at high speed! Yay.
Oh hell yes. Its worth watching Kevin for the humor.
You and Kevin sound like DP and Aaron! Made my day!
Remind Kevin, the cap always angles away from the operator. On a D7F, faces forward. A 953 rear engine, it faces aftward. On a HET, probably doesn’t matter. Great shop videos!
He's not the only one who likes to use a adjustment wrench
Really Really love you channel Clinton. Very happy you started the channel.
Thanks
👍👍👍 yes ,please redue rods .like cutting-edge engineering.I believe costs will be less .Buy the rods, keep up good work C&C equipment.keep video coming.
Clinton always interested in learning new skills.
They make Metric Crescent wrenches. You can get them in open end, box end, and combination. Crescent also makes a good adjustable wrench.
Thanks for watching
thats why they are 250 grand cuz it takes 4 fork lifts to get the cab off. lol . fun looking project and fun time . cheers guys.
Glad to see them pins coming out nice i did hear what you said about the lower hour machines being stubborn sometimes on a lot of machines 👍😎🇺🇸NY
Ford tractor my old boy i worked with was forward if it faces back in strong wind we get here alot you get choked, Good job guys good video
I love watching people who know what they are doing work
You got yourself a dandy machine looking forward to seeing it when it’s all spruced up. Been enjoying all of the great videos. Thanks for sharing!
Flappers, rain caps, depends on which way your tractor sits in the trailer when towing. Mount the hinge side of the rain cap into the wind so it doesn't open when towing and let the rain in at 60 mph then you wonder why it don't start.
I think a lot of people would love to see a video on building the new cylinder rods! Keep up the great work Clinton and Kevin!
The pair of you buzzing those bits off made for great viewing. Great bench pull Kevin.
Long blades!! That’s what I drive at work loading & unloading trucks 👍🏻 & I’d love to have one of those heavy tables in my shop!

Took a minute but finally finished watching this video and after seeing the last bit of the video I don't understand why I never made the connection before but now I see Kevin is the MBTS of Nashville Indiana.
😁
Excellent video as always as for the exhaust cap, if it's in front of you its forwards and behind you it's the opposite.
Looks good without the cab thanks for sharing
A video of randy, going to work on one would be interesting, how he struggles, how hard he works, needs to be appreciated.

Hello from Wisconsin. Yes, I'd love to see all that you do with all of your projects! Especially with the rods for this dozer!
yes please, it it'll be very interesting to watch the process. Thank you.
Try the "tie it to a stump or bollard" method. Takes fewer fork lifts.
What a fantastic employer employee relationship, ....one point for Kevin ,I always call them engines,a motor is what they go in
Always fun watching you guys seriously go to work.

Another nice video from C&C thxs for the entertainment.

Definitely enjoyed the cylinder work and HOPING you'll show more with the rod replacement.
I like it. Look at “ Cutting-edge Australia “ . He does a lot of making new rods, replacing the eyes.

Yep, would like to see you do your own service and machining on the rods.
Would enjoy seeing you build those cylinder rods. You two can field strip a bulldozer so fast you make a chop shop jealous.
Here we go ... Enjoying!! 2 pints in!! Cheers!!;-)!!
Great job. Like to watch again😊😊😊😊😊
Yes, I would like to see you cutting some new ones on the lathe. Please post that video AP.
Thanks.
Stay tuned
You are special Kevin
I was questioning why it wasn't completely painted green as a military machine, but when you said air force today, it explained a lot. Lol
Lathe work is a plus.
Great video Clint and it goes on forward
It is always nice to see how cylinders are made. your colleague on you tube has bought a faucet I see it as a bad buy.

Do you guys change the muffler bearings on your equipment frequently
Clint, to answer your question, it must take four forklifts and only two operators. LOL It was a gentle progression of effort.
Hello there. I saw one of those big long reach load all's tip over. They had it at full stretch without the jack's down. It bloo a tire and over she went.
0ne of the best bucket geometry ever great machine
Yep
Great video, i will be looking for the next video. keep up the good work guy's.
Thanks
Go for it...buy the chrome bar and get after it!
My dad had an International TD 9 with 4 in 1 bucket, it was called a Drott skid shovel. 1962 model.
