I loved the music on HAL. I see people saying there’s no entertainment on HAL ships, by which they mean production shows I guess, but the R&B on my HAL cruise was so good, I didn’t even mind how people-y the venue became.
Been waiting for this series...we are booked on HAL for May 2025 B2B on Koningsdam......heading to Hawaii on HAL this coming January....they are our cruise line of choice these days for the great food and the live music....yes we are old and proud of it!
Yes, you must go one a South American cruise! And didn’t you love saying ‘see you in 2 weeks?’ Lobe those drawers under the bed. Nice duo pianos and songs. The R&B music sets were nice too. Looking forward to your upcoming series😊🚢
Eee! I’m so excited to see Kodiak, even minus bears. My one and only cruise (so far) was Alaska on Eurodam, and I wanted to bring that bed home with me. Super comfortable.
The Holland America food looks so good, and well presented. I`m looking forward to this series I really enjoy your Alaska cruises, and seeing the ports you haven`t visited before. Love from Vancouver Island❤
Caught a glimpse of "Friends of Bill W. Meeting" on the cruise guide, nice to see HAL is actively promoting these!!! Can't wait to see all your adventures and how like HAL for Alaska!
I went to Prince Rupert BC last year on the Miracle. It’s a great town. We took the trolley tour. The town mayor got on every trolley to welcome passengers and thank them for visiting. It’s also home to North Americas smallest Walmart. They call it Smallmart
We did a 38 day South Pacific on the Noordam. Loved her! We spent almost every night at BBKing which I am assuming is now The RollingStone. Love reminiscing! Enjoy!
Thank you very much for this video. We are booked on the Noordam mid Sept 2023, also 14 days from Vancouver to Alaska, and return. Did you see any northern lights?
So your video played right after mine today, and I have laugh about the socks because I rarely wear them, even in Alaska. I wear UGGs😂but that’s California for ya. Thanks for sharing, I’m ready to compare HAL with Princess even though I have elite status❤
Our next two cruise ships in the one shot, heading to Australia to get on Brilliance then off to Alaska next year on Noordam.. I have been waiting intently for this one, wasn’ t sure if Noordam was the right ship for us… looks nice though
Is Noordam close to a Spirit Class Carnival ship in layout? We were wondering how many kids were on board. I'd like to try Holland, but not sure if it would be a good fit with our 10 year old son. He loves Princess though. ❤ leaving from Vancouver!!!
Noordam is probably about the same size as a Carnival Spirit-class ship, but we wouldn't say the layout is similar, no. It's pretty nice and flowy overall, but there's something about the flow of a Spirit-class ship that's just so nice!! :D
I am not sure you noticed, but when you were talking about the Canadian crack and whales, there were whales blowing in the background of your clip. Living on Vancouver Island (in the crack, although that doesn't sound right) we see whales from early spring to late fall.
Do you recall how long Vancouver embarkation may haven taken? I’m hearing it can be upwards of 3+hours! I’m hoping that would be lessened with fewer ships in port?! I’d appreciate any tips or tricks for our May 2024 Ruby Princess Alaska cruise. Thank you in advance ☺
There are a looooot of steps at Vancouver, it seems! On a good day, you're probably looking at about an hour to do all the steps, but at peak times they probably can get backed up!! :P
Did they have umbrellas for people to borrow while in port? Or did they at least have umbrellas for sale on the ship? I am talking a rain coat but i love having an umbrella if its actually raining
Hi Dee, hi Jay, can you tell me with your great Alaska experience, the best port for whale watching. Our ports are Juneau Skagway Ketchikan and Haines. Thank you very much and have a great day. Danny.
Heyo! Of that itinerary, your best bet would probably be Juneau. We enjoyed Harv & Marv's for the small boat experience, Juneau Whale Watch for the large boat experience, and the Juneau Lighthouse Tours option was a fun combo idea. Otherwise, I'm sure the ship has an array of offerings!! :D
Random question do you “re clean” the room when you get into them? I’ve seen a couple channels they go through and re Clorox spray everything. Just curious That food looked so good!
Typically there's a portion you complete in the app, but there's also a portion that you complete in person by visiting your muster station and having your card scanned.
@Deemarie You and the lovely subscriber who bought you the Bracelet in Mondays mail monday have totally inspired me to get one for me and my best friend. The Charity i've found a number of different animals I just have to choose which I wanr. My friend will get an Elephant. I can't decide between Shark,Polar bear, Penguin or Lion.
Jay referring to the themed MDR menu “If you’re guessing for me…”
I feel seen! 😂🤪🐟🐠
I got 2 courses right! 🏆
That tree line as you sailed under Lionsgate Bridge is Stanley Park - 1,000 acres downtown Vancouver . Super nice walking or biking paths .
I loved the music on HAL. I see people saying there’s no entertainment on HAL ships, by which they mean production shows I guess, but the R&B on my HAL cruise was so good, I didn’t even mind how people-y the venue became.
Wow!! The lady in the pink jacket can sang!!!!
The food looked amazing. I bet this is going to be a memorable cruise.
I just realized who you are: You’re the Ned Flanders of cruise bloggers. Everything is amazing, every sculpture is incredible.
Lol good one! 😅

You will love Holland America I only cruise on it
I am leaving on the same cruise on Sunday 9/15, so excited
We love HAL!

Great video! Love seeing these cruises during the non-peek times!

Love your piano key socks
This series has been very nice to watch, we'll be on this ship later this year and since I'm cruise newbie it has been helpful.
I went to Prince Rupert BC last year on the Miracle. It’s a great town. We took the trolley tour. The town mayor got on every trolley to welcome passengers and thank them for visiting. It’s also home to North Americas smallest Walmart. They call it Smallmart
I just love seeing all the different ships through your blogs!! Looks like it’s going to be a great cruise. 😊😊
Ty so much for doing this I always wanted you to. I'm so excited
We did a 38 day South Pacific on the Noordam. Loved her! We spent almost every night at BBKing which I am assuming is now The RollingStone. Love reminiscing! Enjoy!
Hi y’all! Looking forward to seeing this new series on HAL. Also, you both are looking great ! X Debbie!
Can’t wait for my cruise on its sister ship Zuidersam. First HAL for me too. Thanks for getting me excited
Great beginning vlog series, can’t wait for the next! ❤
I have been to Prince Rupert. It was nice and they have a wonderful museum there as well.
Thanks for sharing this fantastic trip ❤
Yes!!! It’s been a really rough day, but you guys always make it better!
Thank you for the review.
Looks great on the ship

Cabins felt like a cross between Princess and Carnival. At least that was my first impression
Will definitely have to check out Holland. We have only cruised Carnaval. I am a bit of a foodie Holland definitely looks like an upgrade.
I love Holland America i am surprising my daughter for her graduation in 25 we are also going to Alaska
We loved this series. Where did you stay in Vancouver?! Thank you

Question- Dee, where did you get your cream color (or white?) backpack? I love it and would like to buy one!
It’s in our Amazon shop!! :D #ad

HAL usually does provide umbrellas from what we’ve seen!! :D

Was the muster drill virtual I saw you went out on deck

Did you find the piano duo to be loud? On the Eurodam I sat 1 min and left.😮
When that new ParoDeeJay cruise vids drop! 🙏🙏
Dammit, I did not know those were drawers at the foot of the bed. I want a do-over.

How do you get your TA treats?
there are no usb ports in the comment section i checked
Don’t like the pullman bed right over the head of main bed 😮, feel unsafe
Was that the old school muster??
Everyone had to go outside for muster drill.
Was not old school muster where we used to wear life jackets and line up in rows.
just showing up to a location thats it.
