Buy one dude! They're great! I taught myself to be a programmer 3 years ago AFTER COLLEGE, so it's never too late. I'm professional dev making decent bank now, and I love what I do. RasPi didn't teach me to code, but it's still a great toy for learning for any age, any skill level. Another great resource is to see if there's a maker/hacker space in your town. They're kinda like the Masons or Elks for mad scientists and nerds. You'll find wonderful people there.

The only "programming" I did in school was creating a traffic light system in a simulator. Why now that i'm out of school do they change it. *RAGE FACE*

Could people stop saying; html and css is easy. It takes a couple of years before your able to integrate it with a programming language like python or php. With python you don't need to learn anything else, you could keep it cli and getting the hang of that also takes a couple of years. I would say you're a programmer after 3 years experience. And that's if your really taking it serious. These story of a 9 yo hacking into the fbi is bollocks. Unless he has 8 year experience.
