The Radio/MP3 button this works as a Bluetooth speaker for your phone and even has an external mic for phone calls? I didn't know this and I'm now amazed and telling anyone who will listen! Great video, very relatable and looks like you had an awesome time. Relaxing vid!
Not only were moreCB radios sold in the last year or two, but ham radios as well, plus more ham radio operators got a license, as learned CW! (morse code) All thanks to "lockdowns."
Shortwave is dead. Now only Spanish language from Central America and religious stuff. I listened in the 1970s and now there is 1/100 of what we had in the 70s.
A lot of noise around the house. Just going for a walk through the woods outside in the back improves signals immediately. On any given afternoon I can pick up anywhere from 15-32 radio stations.
Wankers tell you shortwave is dead, since they are addicted to their Internet and cellphones, and have lost all knowledge of true communications. If there is a disaster, you will be able to locate THEM by the sobbing which you will be able to hear for miles! They won't even be able to call for help with their useless ham radio, since they didn't bother taking the time to study for a license or the protocols for EmComs. Bloody wankers.
I just got an SDRPlay RSPDX and hooked up a simple random wire antenna outside. I need to get an UNUN and a better antenna setup, but have been very disheartened. I found three stations across the entire spectrum. One is a religious station with a preacher that sounds about 500 years old. I call him Father Doom. (No offense intended. Just a bit of a joke.) Dozens of medium wave stations and lots of ham HF activity, but the SW bands were absolutely desolate. I hate that too, because SW was one of the main reasons I got that SDR. There's something magical about being able to hear international OTA broadcasts. I wish I lived in a better area, but I fear that even the good areas won't be good enough after a few years.
Hi.. are there radios that has all these Band like;- Short Wave, Air Band, FM, VHF Marine! are there handheld radios that has all Of these Bands Included?
If shortwave radio is "dying," part of what could remedy that could be the loosening of regulations and restrictions (cheaper and easier licensing for stations that aren't particularly high-powered) to incentivize the existence of more radio stations. Give "amateur radio" a new meaning (a public radio broadcasting hobby vs. simply individuals chatting with each other). The internet and its increasingly sophisticated website development capabilities should be able to facilitate the logistics of station registration.
@@BadassWeldingVideos I was actually talking about broadcasters (licensing fees and registration expenses, etc.) If there were more radio stations, radio would be more enjoyable to listen to. In certain geographic areas, broadcasting regulations should be relaxed. For example, in Idaho where I live, only a few shortwave stations can be picked up. There are even lots of empty frequencies in the FM and, especially, AM bands. In theory, I can see why regulations are necessary in some places to keep the airwaves from being TOO full, but in other areas, that's not the case, and things should be different there.
They don't pursue pirate radio operators. 200 watt fm station only run 1800$ 600 watt short or medium wave station would cost under 4k. Dont wait for someone else. I don't ask permission for that kind of thing
@@BadassWeldingVideos I don't blame you. If you're doing no harm (interference with nearby registered stations, etc.), which I'm sure you're not, I wish you luck. It would be so neat to tune in to a station like that!
I operate completely legal at the moment, you can catch my show on 5950 weekends 0300 utc (sat and Sunday night 11pm eastern) Once that gets shut down, I'd bet you would be able to find me about there at the same time
there has been a huge flood into shortwave, just wait till october when ole brother stairs airtime starts dropping. shit that is cencored and banned off youtube found a new home on shortwave
Sure it can be, but its not... I am listening to Alex Jones on 12.160 mhz right now. Btw, Alex Jones is currently censored on RUclips. I produce a show on 5950khz that is on every weekend, but you can't find it on RUclips (shadow banned)
It is pretty hard to find video where actually radio works. Most famous reviewers 95% of time unstoppably talk about BS to satisfy their own ego. So, thank you. I can see how radio works.
Ya the bands are really busy lol. I think you radio is no good. I don't have to go up a mountain and I get dozens of signals that are readable. Do you have it set on the right SSB?
Shortwave will be back on top when the internet and major power-grids eventually are collapsed by the cyber warfare that has only just begun. Even if you are not a radio hobbyist it is a good idea to have at least one capable portable shortwave radio that can operate on readily available D or AA batteries. Unfortunately, this particular Tecsun uses a specialty rechargeable battery. If the power grid goes down its battery will be useless.

No it is not dead but, It sure is not what it used to be.
Yes, and women were younger then.
To bad it is upside down to watch, but it can be done.

Try 5900 on Friday at 2100Z. A transmitter at the former R Sofia site relays an hour of KSKO-FM from McGrath AK USA.
Shortwave radio is NOT dead, it's just upside down.
Upside down Camera from 28 minutes. Any cements?

Upside down camera. Working good.
It's hard to make sense of the video after you invert the camera.
It would be OK if he were in Australia
You better listen.
I am in New Zealand and it does not work either 😊

Probably Brother Stair. He is deceased, but lives forever on shortwave.

What place is that? Sorry but I could not make it out on the video

why do you feel you need permission to use the radio?

ever get wrmi out of flordia on 5950khz?
Nice location wow💯📻
Shortwave radio is not dead at light time it's very active 💯🎙
When people post videos like "think X is dead and gone? It's still around!" that means X is already dying.

12 degrees? That's colder than my fridge.😆
Either you're using Fahrenheit or your refrigerator needs some repairs
Turn your fridge on.

Not to worry. The 18650 batteries they use are plentiful and last much longer than D or AA. I've got a drawer full of them.
