All of you attacking her for what she chose to do with HER furniture are Bullies. You may be entitled to your opinion however making needlessly cruel and unconstructed criticism does nothing helpful. For some reason the flipping community’s comments are always so negative. This isn’t YOUR furniture, it isn’t in YOUR house, and YOUR opinion ultimately doesn’t matter. Just scroll. She’s happy with it and the way it fits into her home. Some of you need to learn to hold your tongue and scroll. There’s no need to tear down somebody else’s hard work.

@@pancakexxpie - there are quite a few of us, actually who would conditioned the wood and left it be. Some pieces are history and deserve that respect. Sadly, the world has become more of, "If you don't like it, strip and redo," rather than look at it for what it was and how it impacts today. Sadly, again, there's little critical thinking skills and correlation acknowledgements between the past and present these day.

Whenever you get nice looking old boxes like this it’s always nice to get an appraiser or someone who can check the history of it! It seems old, but still in good condition, hinting at it’s true value (at least quality wise). Who knows, maybe next time you’ll find something cool about it (the value of things like this are often more when left in its original form rather than flipped, clean or not)

But even so, in the end it's just a piece of furniture, and it's YOURS so you get to decide how to honor it and use it! She sells it. It's an MLM. Like pampered chef or those nail things. It's a pyramid scheme. Which is why the jars of paint are itty-bitty tiny and they probably sell for $30 a piece. It would take you out least five of those to do the chest that she did. And it looks horrendous. You shouldn't need to seal paint on furniture if it's the right kind of paint. But it's not ever about the product it's just about getting people to sign up to sell it, so the products are usually very cheap and marked all the way up because they have to pay every one of the line in an MLM.
