That was epic! The way he split and swapped positioned his armies on the defense was cool to see in first person.

the best games i remember watching are of maru, and one of them was maru vs dark. it was a game where dark was throwing armies at him the entire game. the whole map was zerg. maru still managed to somehow win. tastosis were like "surely maru's dead, right?" nope
many years ago when there was only starcraft 1 on the stream I downloaded and swift the voice prompt into Korean so that made me look like a professional player.

Great video! At the beginning of the game I was getting a little dizzy with all the perspective switching, and Maru's casting with a smile while playing it! honestly superhuman...

Interesting that Dark actually didn't go pool first for that Ravager rush, but went 15 hatch and then 17 gas and 16 pool. I guess it makes it easier to either transition, or add in some lings for the killing blow with the extra larvae if he manages to break his opponent.

This video makes me think mech is kinda trash at pro play? Like Maru was so ahead after a clean defense and high damage counterattack. If he just went standard bio + tank play instead of transitioning to mech it's basically GG for Dark right? Mech is so damn slow and clunky.
Maru would have then had to put in a ton of money into the transitioning for both the infrastructure and the upgrades. Such a major tech switch is quite expensive, even though he has relatively recently started doing the reverse for all his late games against Zerg. All those Infestors would have still posed a major problem to the bio though. Those are just my guesses on why he didn't switch. This was also before he started adding Ghosts to bio, which he hasn't done for that long as of now. Perhaps having Ghosts for Snipes and EMP's would have helped more than a total bio switch. Either way, Dark is extremely good and is able to be a pain in the ass to kill in such situations.
