@@IcyAuron I still prefer Power Metal, but there's like 5% good bands and 95% cringe bands, so it's still up for debate in my eyes...extreme metal is sort of off limits for me but to each their own (To me Melodeath is not "extreme metal"..., the genre is sort of in the middle of the road but are in the "wholesome" half of metal to me)
Kalmah is consistently one of my favorite melodeath bands and I've been listening to them for almost 15 years now. They Will Return is one of their best songs and a great choice.
yes, fan for 23 years. i hope you've been aware and appreciative of eternal tears of sorrow for as long as you have of kalmah. i think My Nation is the best track from They Will Return but the title track is good too.
One of my all time favorite songs by one of the best bands. When we played shows back in high school during 2005-2008, we always covered Hades and everyone would ask about the song. We introduced a lot of young headbangers to the amazing melodies of the swamplords. \m/
Kalmah has been my favorite band since I was in high school, like 13 years ago. This video had me giggling like a kid all the way through it, I love it. Beautiful work.
Thanks so much for finally doing Kalmah! My favorite melodic death metal band of all time. I’ve heard riffs from them in some of your older meets metal tracks. Love this video! I hope you do Hades or Alteration some day.
Kalmah is so melodic and beautiful and brutal. I've loved it. Swamplord+They Will Return is my absolute favorite anthology of their early work. I've been playing this album a lot on my guitar too. It really makes you feel pretty tight when you rip some of these riffs off. My favorite thing about Kalmah is they straight up look like they just got done with a moose hunt. Real Finnish brutality.
Shame they tour so little outside of Finland, Saw them on Summer Breeze. Been a fan for a long time, I'm always enjoy the look on peoples face when they go Kalmah? when they ask me what my favorite band is. then i put on Swamplord and i just see the face of acceptance sink in.
Evil in You is sooo underrated. It is my favorite of their first album. But everybody always just wants to hear Hades - which isn't bad (there is not a single Kalmah song I would call bad tbh) but to me just not as good. Anyhow. I really have to say, my most favorite albums are their latest 2/3. Chances are good the next one will top it once again.
Saw Kalmah during their first ever US tour. Sound engineer sucked so bad every solo peaked the monitors, screeched, damn near shattered the windows of the venue, and destroyed everyone's hearing. Great video, Kalmah are fantastic.
You make playing look so effortless, I've always wondered if it actually takes you longer to program the drums for these videos, than record the guitar parts.
Kalmah one of my all-time favorite bands so glad I got to see them live before covid only feels fitting that next you should do aether realm slave to the riff not a very well known band that deserves way more attention
I know I'm 1.5 million people too late but, just found the channel...what a fantastic musician! I'm having so much fun. Can I suggest Mussorgsky. Next time you want to work on ' classical' music? Night On bald Mountain?....just a thought
I personally favour Swampsong, but any of their first 3 albums are absolute classics. 12 Gauge is really solid, too. Their other albums have their moments, but, on the whole, aren't anything special.
@@ShowHero yes, The Black Waltz is a very strong album one should listen in a dark room from start to the finish. And maybe enjoy a glass of good whiskey with it. The massive wall of guitars and drums just blows you away every time, very good production on that album in my opinion and they haven't matched it since. The guitar tone on that album and the way you can hear both Antti and Pekka is amazing. Swampsong is almost as good, but I find waltz even better.
It's funny what 'the' article adds to word 'shit' and changes the meaning of it. You can say like 'Drake is shit' and 'Kalmah is the shit', and just with that article they mean the opposite things 😄 Ps. Just a finn wondering stupid things. Btw. this song is about duck hunting, 'waiting for the moment in the bushes and you miss the shot, then you wait for the next moment for the ducks to return, cause They will return'.
A criminally underrated melodeath GEM. No band builds up to solos or has riffs right after them that are as good
Melodic death metal as a whole is criminally underrated. Best genre.
100%

Hummm early Children of Bodom?!

Same Here!
Great song, great album, great band. Hope they're remembered as one of the melodeath greats.
Not one of... but THE one melodic death to me.
First song i heard from Kalmah, instant love to the moon
Holy shit, I haven't heard a Kalmah song in nearly a decade now. This was a good reminder.
You should drop everything and listen to a couple of tracks. For example Aalteration
I got to see Kalmah on my birthday right before the pandemic, what a killer show.

Thanks so much for finally doing Kalmah! My favorite melodic death metal band of all time. I’ve heard riffs from them in some of your older meets metal tracks. Love this video! I hope you do Hades or Alteration some day.
The best and the most underrated melodeath band.

Kalmah are one of the best melodeath band that ever exist thx for showing us this magnesificant master piece
Kalmah, Sinergy...I'm glad you recognize these bands! They're great and underrated.
Grew up listening to Kalmah.
SO great.
Everything in that song is killer, that's why Eric pretty much covered the entire song (just only chopped a few things here and there).
Every song off this album was iconic and a big inspiration to metal as a whole 😈
One of my all time favorite bands!!! Hellyeah bro!!
Glad to find this, now I need every kalmah song xD
Kalmah is awesome; "Hollpw Heart" and "Evil in You" are two of my favorite songs
Those are my 2 favorites also. 😊
Evil in You is sooo underrated. It is my favorite of their first album. But everybody always just wants to hear Hades - which isn't bad (there is not a single Kalmah song I would call bad tbh) but to me just not as good.

You keep amazing me, after all these years.
Killer track and what u did there, super awesome
Big Kalmah fan, you're doubtless a man of quality

Just nice to see you smile Thanks for keeping me entertained.
Never expected to see Kalmah on this channel, damn
I'm really glad you're keeping up with your music Erock, so inspirational especially these days!
The fact that nobody has done as decent cover of Kalmah - Blind Leader. is a crime to humanity.
I'm glad Kalmah still gets some love.
kalmaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!
Knew you liked this one since "Megaman meets metal" over 10 years ago!
(Edit: it's around 1:00 mark in that video if anyone is interested)
this song is so good
Righteous shredding!
We need more Kalmah!!

Truly awesome!
I've been waiting all my life

Holy shit, I love Kalmah! Good job on the cover!
I love Kalmah they are my favourite Melodeath band
KALMAH FUCK YEAH!!
Still can't believe a saw them in a small venue here in Quebec...we were like 5 hahaha
You make playing look so effortless, I've always wondered if it actually takes you longer to program the drums for these videos, than record the guitar parts.
watching your vids and my mood lifts up! Thank you, man!
This was a very pleasant surprise. Love this band and your playing!

One of my fav bands of all time Kalmah, Children of bodom, Made of hate started me into my metal journey
Your playing is on point !!
Amazing
Great track, one of my favorite songs from Kalmah is Wolves on the Throne.
The only album I have of Kalmah is heroes to us. And I do love it. What other albums would you recommend?
Edit: Swamp song is album. Whoops....
I personally favour Swampsong, but any of their first 3 albums are absolute classics. 12 Gauge is really solid, too. Their other albums have their moments, but, on the whole, aren't anything special.
all of them, u cant go wrong
Just get them all. They all bang
The Black Waltz has my favourite song of theirs "The Groan of Wind"!

Oh it's so good.
Damn, now I want to hear "Groan of Wind" covered by you. That was sick!
Wow. Nailed it.
That was excellent!
Kalmah is amazing!! "The Groan of Wind" is also killer!
Damnit I was just at the chiropractor yesterday. Now you wacked my neck out again!
This is too good!!

Still rockin the casbah I see! Stay legendary, Eric
best metal song hands down
Very nice cover. You should do kill the idealist and using the word from Kalmah. They have some of the most crazy riffs
