Flew down for this game just for the prelim but ended up getting last minute GF tickets was an absolutely amazing two weekends of my life I'll never forget.
@@TheJonkerr7 before 6-6-6 teams could stack their forward or back line, teams started with more midfielders so the forward 50 was less populated. Leaving teams to score more goals when only 2/3 people attacked the ball in the forward 50
Harvey played in two, '97-'98, and lost them both. The Saints are a tip of a club. No 'Winners Mentality'. But, chances are, if he'd played on the next two years they win a flag. That close '09 GF...? Harvey could've been the difference....maybe? The 2010 double GF....? Who knows? The Saints always under perform. Such a disappointment of a football team. At least the Bulldogs have won their second flag. The Saints have been in the VFL/AFL since when....1873? One FLAG IN ALL THOSE YEARS?!? DAMN!! CHOOSE ANOTHER TEAM!! HAHAHAHAHAHA! St Kilda SUCKS!!!
Unmasked, singing shouting people. I’ll be back when that is back on. Football is a training camp without fans. If you don’t want to risk it stay home, but I’d be there in amongst a full crowd at the G.
No. Terry Wallace, Rodney Eade used tactics they thought would've worked against the dominant Hawks sides of the late '70s early '80s. Wallace choked the powerful Bombers side of 2000 for their only loss and the league took notice. Eade had used similar tactics late in the '90s and nearly snatched a flag. He had a dominant fwd line and still went ultra defence. Dumb. 'Clarkson's cluster' Hawks weren't relevant after 2009 as the league caught up. Senior players boycotted the 'cluster' in 2010, after a disastrous start of 0-6, and forced his hand to change the game plan. A few years later...😂we threepeat. I reckon it worked. Also, the AFL changed the 'rushed behind' rule after the 2008 GF because of one club although many other teams used this tactic regularly. Brian Lake used it in the 2008 Semi Final while playing for the Bulldogs. People have a short memory. Then again, for me, these things stick.
That Mark Williams was an absolute gun for the Hawks...he was an integral part in the GF win as well..Almost forgotten now..
Katanning and SF Bulldogs. Good player!
Underrated. No doubt.
Exactly mate
He was a gun when we were rubbish as well - well deserved premiership player and highly under-rated.
Severely underrated

What is it about the Hawthorn Football club over the last 50 years ? So consistently superior.
Fair suck of the sauce bottle, Hawks.
wow, our player Young had a magnificent left foot. Awesome to watch, even 15 years later.
crawf.... actually got me a little choked up there
It was over at half time lmao
Gosh I miss the old game! So many more goals and highlights before the 6-6-6 rules. Get did of it. CARN THE HAWKS!! 💛🤎💛🤎
And when runners were allowed on the ground. Steve hocking has absolutely destroyed the game - it's a blessing that shit stain has moved on
Yeah coz 6-6-6 has slowed scoring...how exactly?

When they introduced the 6-6-6 rule, I was very disappointed. This modern game of AFL was dreadful and I wasn’t happy about it.
@@cjball7919 so if teams stack their backline then scoring is restricted...geez, there's dumb, then there's dumber
Your the best go hawks
Luke Hodge is in Trouble, real trouble. Yeah Sure!

Dan Andrews is trying to control people, please go against his command and go to the G.
SO many abortions in this match
Clarkson's cluster. Ruined the AFL
No it didn’t
oh right whereas Paul Roos forcing stoppage after stoppage and Eade flooding didn't...
@@TheJonkerr7 the cluster was way worse
