I own cats, I have also worked in a vet for years. Change the food immediately. Sometimes, it's bad when you buy it and you have a bad batch. If it's Kibble, change it. He is eating his litter to soothe this stomach. Give him some wet grain-free food. Make sure his water is clean. He may be getting into something and eating/licking something he's not supposed to. He may be very very anxious being left alone in the room and that needs to change. Can you take him home with you at night? Even if you put him in a separate room - it will help. Anxiety may be a huge culprit. He needs to be loved on too to give him comfort. Look for anything that he doing or could be a problem by following him around or looking at the places he favorites. Good luck. Also, did you check his sugar levels? Does he drink a lot of water? I also agree with a couple of your respondents and I've thought of those things before he got sick.... Maybe something in the warehouse. Is there something "new" that hasn't been there before? How long is he alone? Maybe the long weekend alone hasn't helped. You were on vacation for two weeks. Who took care of him? Also, I believe strongly they should have done a sonogram immediately. He could have a hairball in his intestines blocking - sometimes the hairballs are there for so long they turn hard as a rock. I've also seen cats that have eaten plastic (wrapper type) that can't be seen on an xray but can be seen on the sonogram. That should be done immediately. I think his environment needs to change while he is sick so that you can watch him better. Most important, change his food to wet. Dry food, especially the cheap stuff, is not healthy especially for an older cat.
Also, in the room that you keep him, does he have a way to climb up to a bed? Cats love a perch to look out a window or sit up high. I think sticking him in the tiny room at night is not very good for his health as an older cat. He needs more attention. He needs a window to look out.
I have a puppy about his size that has seizures. I give him CBD oil and the seizures have just about stopped. I also feed him the best food I can find. His liver isn't able to filter out the crap in the cheap food and it throws them into seizures.
Poor little Milo... When my fiance and i visited the shop a few months back Milo followed us around the shop and was so sweet and cute and rubbed all over us! I hope he gets better quick!
Aww poor baby. Usually cats dont eat much when sick. Constant dry food is not good for cats vets say. Usually wet food I've been told is better for cats, but definitely you have to get him check...best of luck hopefully he gets better...my prayers for your baby to get well...
Awww. Poor Milo. My heart was hurting for him and you while watching. He was definitely a good boy while being poked and prodded. Thank you for taking us along. Pets are our babies just as our children! Please keep us updated. I'm sending positive vibes his way. God Bless!❤
Awww, poor sweet Milo :( I literaly had tears in my eyes watching this. It's always hard to see our pets like this, and they can't tell what's wrong and we feel so helpless. After 17 years I had to put my cat Teddy to sleep, because of kidney insufficiency. He couldn't eat nearly anything and is almost starving before my eyes. That was the hardest decision ever and I still miss him every day. He gave me so much love and was always there if no one else was. Our pets are part of our family and we love them so deeply that it is very painful to see them suffer. How wonderful your daughter could look after him, and it seems it's nothing very serious. I hope Milo will recover very quickly. He's such a cutie. Much love from Germany
I love how the vets cant figure it out with the test yet but all the commenters know exactly what it is.... you are a good pet parent. You will get it figured out :)
Man, i just lost my best friend on March 10th of this yr. It is such a scary and heartbreaking thing to have to watch them go thru. So sorry for you guys to have to watch him go thru this. Prayers for Milo!
Hi Pete, I’ve had cats all my life and have dealt with numerous health issues. One change I made a few years ago was to switch from dry food to a wet canned food (limited ingredient) diet. It has made a World of difference. Keeps them more hydrated and easier for the more senior cats to process. Good luck!! Sending prayers for that sweet boy! 🙏🏻❤️
Awww! He seems like such a sweet cat and I was surprised at how calm he was when he was having blood drawn. Love seeing him in your videos and I hope he gets better soon.
Thank you soooo much for sharing this. Video. Have been through this many times and it is nerve wracking when our furry family is in distress. Milo was such a good boy all the way through. Keep us updated.
My cat was acting exactly the same. I only fed her dry food. I switched to only wet/canned food and what a difference! HIll's Prescription Diet (buy at vet only). No vomiting all the time. No loose stools. She even seemed like she felt better daily. She lived to be 19 years and 5 months and ate the wet food for about 8-9 years before she died. I wish that I would have given her wet food from the start but I did not know. It must have been too harsh on her digestive system as she aged. Wet food is a bigger hassle for you (making sure it hasn't been out too long, etc.) but well worth changing. Good luck! We love you Milo! Get well soon.
Prayers for Milo...he's such a sweet cat. Hope he gets well soon Pete. Because of his age it might be necessary to really pay close attention to the quality of his food. Just like humans, as we age and our metabolism changes, we have to adjust the foods we eat. At 35 years old - MSG made me sick to my stomach with flu like symptoms so I can't eat things like Doritos. When I hit 58 I realized eating anything with gluten in it really made me swell up from my fingers to my legs so I have to consider whether or not its worth eating the bun on a burger. Stages of life change things for all of us including our 4 legged domesticated friends.
Prayers for Milo. It's so hard to see him hurting. It's great your daughter is a Vet. Veterans are wonderful! All the very best. I'm so fond of Milo. Please keep us posted 😥
CBD FOR CATS! I give it to mine and it works! Improved his arthritis problems! And helped my female cat get over her anxiety, poor Milo! Hope he gets better!
Stop giving animals tap water. It has flouride and lead, and that's ALL they drink! If I drink tap water, it triggers artritis in less than 24 hours. Just Google flouride and arthritis. There's a million websites abour it. DO NOT DRINK TAP WATER.
@@bullionbouncer5080 What is RSO newfriend? Is that distilled water? I'm so afraid of tap water now, I'll drink pop or juice before I'll touch tap water.
@@newbutthunt Reverse Osmois it was supposed to say RO not RSO lol it is hard filtered water pushed through a series of membrane filters comes out with 0 PPM! unlike faucet water or anyother water could have 90 to 500 PPM and thats nasty.
@@newbutthunt you can buy it in the big 5 gallon jugs at the grocery store or like the culligan drinking dispensers you see in office buildings and lunch rooms and stuff!
Sending good vibes and thoughts to Mr. Milo and to you folks who care for him. I wish Mr. Milo a speedy recovery! Thanks Pete for sharing this with us.
My first guess was a hair ball that he couldn't cough up and made its way past his stomach blocking him up. The symptoms seem to he the case. They say he's backed up and if only loose stool is passing he won't be able to eat. Laxative should clear him up. If not a hairball it could be string or other objects. He should have cat grass available to him to help with hairballs. It's available at pet stores.
I have recently started to follow you and I wasn’t aware that you even had a Milo. Very sad. I lost a cat a few months back also and went through same issues with her. It was just her time. She had a long and good life. You really do post it all! Keep up the great work and all the best during the current crisis. Hope it picks up for you and for all in the states.
Poor Milo. I hope he is ok. Please keep us updated. It was a great episode. Mr Milo is a star and we are all hoping for the best. Please feel better little buddy.
I'm so sad that Milo is sick. He's in my thoughts and I'm saying special prayers for him. Our animals are our children of sorts. So happy nothing was found TERRIBLY wrong with him. We have a ferral male cat a little bigger than Milo. Everytime we took him to the vet, all he did was pur. The squeezed, poked and prodded and he purred away. Even when he had have a bath he purred. Everyone at their office couldn't believe he was so chill and to be a ferral cat to boot. Alex is very pretty. She really looks like her Mom 😍 God bless you, Vicky and Milo ❤ XOXO
I am so sorry for Milo! I hope it's something that can be treated with little treatment. It's always bad when fur babies are sick. They can't tell us. He's a lucky kitty to have you!
So sorry Pete. I really hope they get a handle on what's going on with him. I just lost one of mine recently, she was 20 years old and in overall great health, but senility set in causing confusion and many other behavior issues. They are so much a part of us, it's very hard when they are sick because they can't tell us what hurts. Get well soon Mr. Milo!
Poor Milo Hope he feels well soon! My daughter is a vet tech and she took our puppy in due to seizures and they put lil puppy on Phenobarbital. Helped so much! 🤞🏻❤️
Pete, Thanks for sharing.. we love pets like people. I often wondered the food we eat in general as people can affect us? It scary to see your cat get sick and taking blood and these things that most people are scared and not wanting to find out. It a good thing to take care of these issues. It non sense to abuse animals. I know this not a topic about abusing animals in your video. I just thought about it with the other people comments about these food issues.
I am so sorry to hear about Milo 🙁 As a couple of the other commenters said, please consider switching him to wet food only. Dry food is very hard on the kidneys. I switched all my cats years ago, and have been making my own cat food for years, so I know exactly what goes into it, but good quality wet food is fine also, of course. Milo is 10, that's about 56 years in human years, so really not that old. I hope he gets well soon. My cats (all eight of them) are sending pawsies. 😻 Oh, and put a large blanket or sheet over the crate when you transport him. It will reduce his anxiety. ❤
Pete will keep Milo in my prayers I have a yellow girl cat that's 15 lb 5 years old just got real sick with the same kind of thing diarrhea said her stomach was upset I had to change her. The vet said no more treats at all dry food and wet food
